I would keep it like it is, though I'd fix the wiring mess on it. That car is awesome. If you wanted to help with the fuel mileage on it you could always look into a Gear vendors unit for the transmission. It would keep the car as close to the way you had it when you were younger. That thing has a style all its own.

  • @MD-cu2tf

Love the "47. Port-a-walls were what we used use back in the 60's and bought from parts stores and also JC Whitney a mail order house in Chcago that sold all sorts of stuff and add on stuff for our '40s and 50s cars we could afford. I wish i could come up in my old '62 corvette and just share a beer for an hour or two. I am an old hot rodder now 77 years old and don't do much wrenching anymore but sure enjoy watching all your projects. Keep with it as long as you can.

I really like this car. I wouldn't change anything about the outside of it. Needs some Native American blankets for interior panels, a better more period steering wheel, and perhaps that LS you hinted at. But she's definitely a keeper. I like having cars that appeal to all of my automotive tastes, and that car compliments the others you have.

Hope you were just goofing about the coupe thing? Seriously, since they made 47 coupes, and that would be, even for you, a monumental undertaking. It's funky cool as it is! Never ceases to amaze me, just when I think I've seen all your cars, up pops another. I thought I was a car nut, had a bakers dozen once upon a time, pretty sure you got me beat, and still young. Now the late 30's Chevy coupes are the bomb, love to see you with a 37-38 Master, or even a Deluxe since you update suspensions. Being a old fart, I'm a straight axle guy, most all your old rods had straight ones. I'm used to how they handle, strange by comparison, but cool. Great to see your subscribers grow. Best as always!

I drove my 78 RS Camaro with a 350 4barrel and a 4spd muncie on power tour 2 years in a row and long hauled it both times with only a minor issue with the throw out bearing on the 1st tour. While the ls guys with their od autos and holley efi were broken down on the side of the road I just motored on through. My point is you don't need all that new crap to go on power tour. So I'll keep it simple. It's what works for me. Oh and just to add, the 47 is my favorite car outta your stable. Gotta try to find me one now.

They are probably not cheap but Mike Finnegan had some really trick shocks that kept the performance of regular suspension while allowing you to drop the car down still.
