Ian Roussel Chops The Top Of A 1940 Chevy With A Twist 🤠👽✅
We had a wind event out here in the wild Mojave Desert, and it ruined, or almost ruined one of Ian's projects, a 1941 Chevy Coupe body. The roof was beyond reparable, but Dave from @RileyRestorations came to the rescue with a 1941 Chevy Sedan. The rest is chop top history in the garage in Mojave. Dave, Ian and Red got busy on chopping the top and blending these two over a few day period out here in Ian's shop!

That is going to be one heck of a custom job.
Gonna be a cool looking ride .I like the communication between you 2 guys .
Would like to have seen more of the fabrication from the pervious days
Glad Victor didn't stop by and make you put a Merc front on it. 😅
Had a blast working with the man! Ian Roussel ! U Rock !!❤
We LOVED having you and Red here! 😎😎
@@fullcustomIan any time u guys!! I'm always down!! Thanks again!!
Great video ! 🎉
Yes, I'm looking forward to 👀seeing your work and becoming a new subscriber.
Hello from the high desert in Phelan, California. Lenny
How do we find your channel? I just looked and found a video from 4 years ago restoring a Riley car. Is that you ?
Trying not to be a hater but who's asking?😂 But on the other hand I like Ian's work as much as the other guy, been watching it since,, crap I even forgot, maybe almost two decades
So awesome seeing two artists together on the same page 🎉
Am I the only one that mistook Dave for Derek from VGG at the beginning of the video?? 😅
Excellent work and another kool build by Ian!!! Way to go Dave!!!
No you're not, It would be cool to have Derek get an old car going and bring it to Ian to customize
Hi from Australia Ian. Long time fan. I have to thank you for choosing an appropriate sponsor for your channel. In these crazy times, mental health, especially for men, is more important than ever. Your customs are off the charts :-)
We appreciate that! That is exactly why we both decided to work with them when BetterHelp approached us. We felt it was a really important message to talk about especially as therapy has been a HUGE help in both of our lives. Thank you for watching and thank you for the support 😎
I agree, with these comments , I have mental health problems . And your videos, are so much therapy. Geoff , brisbane Australia.😊
Hey Ian…..I grew up in Tujunga near your old stomping grounds, talk about needing therapy. I enjoy your show so much, especially seeing the old places in Sun Valley. I graduated from Village Christian in Sun Valley, I moved to Malibu 18 years ago, and rebuild homes. Love your new dessert location. K.
It was great seeing Ian excited during this build Usually he’s just business like but here he was real animated , you could almost see the wheels in his head turning
I love seeing cars cut up and even more so seeing them welded back together in something individual.
😂😂😂😂😂 It is pretty rad
Wow! That is impressive Dave!
Outstanding work Ian Dave and Red Differently a great look and I’ll be watching Dave channel again great video Jamie
That was the fastest chop ever! Can't wait to see what's next for this one! Great job guys!
Ian you are amazing!!! Love your work! A true artist!
Love it man. Love watching you and Chad Hiltz chop up and breathe new life into these otherwise 'doomed to rust away' vehicles.
Thanks very much for taking us along on the adventures
Chad can't do what Ian does
@@RBR307you’re stupid if you think that
@@RBR307 🤣🤣 how did I know some tosser would get on and say that. What a load of crap. I never asked for 'your' opinion on 'my' opinion.
Still fun to watch. @@RBR307
@RustyCaveArt I agree, I watch Chad, too. Ian's skills are at a higher level even though they both have excellent creative vision.
Conversation, intelligence.. guys that can see a vision.. it's rare, truly amazing gents! One more week with Riley and Red lol too fun!
Chopping tops has always been a secret science. Ian and other utubers have showed the masses that it is not as scary as it seems. Still takes skill and talent to be sure. Everybody doesn't have the foresight to jump in without guidance. Thanks for the vid.
I really enjoyed this episode. In my opinion it is one of your best.
It's a great episode for sure! I watched it twice and caught a couple things I didn't see the first time
To cool guys. The car is looking good 👍👍
I’ve known crazy Dave over a decade now, it’s really cool watching him work and seeing him with another legend Ian, y’all make a great team!! Keep going brother!!! Building beauty
Ian you are a special talent and don't ever stop. I enjoy watching your show and will never get tired of watching your shows
That was such a cool episode. How stoked you and your son must be to work with Ian for a week I learned things just watching. Godspeed Carl sorry for your loss brother.
Amazing how well it all fit together like it did. You guys are true artists 🎨
Thank you! It was a great few days of chopping and putting it back together again 😎 Glad we could save some of the other car damaged in the wind storm.
@fullcustomIan Thanks for the reply Ian! Can't wait for Full Custom Garage to start back up this week.
Best fabrication/ car channel out here. !!!
Thank you 🙏
True custom ian talent excellent jamie cheers 🥂 guys 😊
This was an amazing to see Ian just move on, he just goes for it. Nice
Watching you work your magic lessons my depression. Ian and Jamie; Bless you both, your angel's.😇
More of this please!
Ian ur back in ur element 😊
Awesome Awesome Awesome 👏 What Else Can You Say Ian The Legend Has Done It Again ❤️👍🏻🥳🇦🇺😎
Thank you 😎
Towards the end of the show, when Ian was looking at the car, I could almost see the cogs rotating in his head with ideas for the Chev.
Love the way Ian makes suggestions and leads all the while allowing the help to feel like they are making the choices on the job! A true leader of men. Jamie as always top notch however I did miss the background music that always makes the show vibe!
That thing looks insane... I thought he's crazy from the beginning, but Ian is nuts. Wow...
I told my friend about your shows on TV and TH-cam and sent them to my good friend who was battling cancer. He was a good welder and fabricator. He lost his battle a few months ago. But your shows got him through his hardest times during it.
Wow, Thank you for sharing that. That means a lot of both of us.
love the look!!!!!! the flow is super sick!
Grandma's Couch lol, those old seats really are just like big old couches..
well Ian ,garranteed give you an old car and let you alone with it you create some of the best chopped up rebuildds ever, i just love the fact that each and every one you do is a one off ,leaving everyone who sees it in AWE !
That's gonna be a wild ride, maybe my all time favorite build
Just subscribed to his channel 🤠🤟🏽🤠🤟🏽
Welcome!! Thanks for the sub! 😎
Boy, am I glad you got that 40 Chevy. Nice you can switch the tops. Didn't think the coupe was wider than the sedan. Another great roof swap. Keep up the great work.
The warning statement is humorous to me. I appreciate your honesty in promoting counseling. There are a lot of folks with different issues every where. This video was awesome. The Chevy is definitely gonna have new life. Wdo da thunk of this form of hybrid. And thanks for introducing Riley. Super content y'all.
2 Wild and Crazy Guy's!!!!!! Great show as alway's!!!!🥇👏🇺🇲
Now your talking! 👍 👍 👍 👍
Ian, you make it, look so, easy.

Have a, nice evening, Fred
4:54 , I’ve had therapy myself, God love you guys for trying to help others!! Just another way you and Jamie are TRULY so very cool!!
🙏 it matters. Mental health is important and we are pleased they reached out to us ♥️~ Jamie
God bless you guys! Feelin’ a bit misty right now…..
What did I miss , what happened to Carl ?
The good thing about making two cars into one are the body parts left over for other custom builds.
Love all the planning lol....just jump right in and go ...perfect!
always love watching Ian, Man always seems to motivate me to get out in the shop and make something cool!
I guess the word "chop" really came to life!
Tape measure made a 5 second cameo. In boat building they say if it looks right it is right
Once again Ian, you walk us though an impossible build step by step and manifest a classic custom Ride. To top it off, this was part #1 out of thin air.
Ian! Congratulations on a out of the park grand slam of an episode! Hands down no doubt the best episode yet! I watched it 3x! 🎉🎉🎉
wooo! Crazy Dave!
❤
Great video! Loved watching Ian share his design concept to willing workers and they all go right at it. Can’t wait to see the completed project.
Cool way to take the best of both cars and meld them together, and big thanks to you Ian for the commercial at the beginning of this video, lot of times us guys will suck it up and not get help, you admitting you’ve sought counselling in the past takes some of that stigma from asking away. You’re right lots of times people will look and say dudes got it all together and yet you’re juggling 15 balls hoping someone will step in and grab a bunch of them. Thanks for putting that out there, I’ve sought counselling myself and you’re right I feel better for having done so. Another great job of capturing the right angles Jamie, for someone who’s not a trained camera person, you instinctively get to the right angle each and every time and your editing so it all flows nicely 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What a fantastic video, you blokes really worked well together. Ian has an affinity and understanding of metal that makes it look like he’s working with paper and gets it to go where he wants. He also did a great job promoting Better Help and seemed very genuine in what he was saying. We need more people like Ian promoting men’s mental health. Ten years ago, without professional intervention, medication and the unwavering support of my wife I definitely wouldn’t be here today enjoying life.
Merry Christmas to both of you from a hot summer down under. Cheers Stuart. 🇦🇺
Thank you! Merry Christmas 🎄
I was scratching my head at first and then the Ian factor hit me. Wow ! The 40 got rear ended by the 41 and it was love at first sight. Such a “boss” car. (Seventies jargon)
I’m amazed
I was too! ~ Jamie
That is some amazing work Ian so thankful for you and Jaime .. ps more Jaime as co host !!
Ian’s face fuzz is looking good and the cruiser as well
Crazy how fast you can see the end make decisions to cut. Love the channel. Jamie does great with the editing.
Appreciated your perspective and encouragement on getting therapy. I'm a life long gear head that grew up in a violent home, made a little progress on my own but getting therapy at 37 really accelerated my journey to good mental health. Ian, this is just another reason why you rock!
That is amazing! It works! We both have benefited from therapy ourselves and when we were approached by BetterHelp, we knew we wanted to share the message to our audience. We appreciate you!
Y'all did a great job on that car. Really liking the look you have now. Remember "if it looks right, it most likely is right" .
So sorry about Dude. Watching your new season on MT. Love the new project. You are a
Master.
Trim the sides and take a little off the top, thanks. Good team
Thanks for reaching out. Young man especially go through a phase. We don't know where we're going what we're doing. We need positive mentors in our life. Keep up the good work
Man this car turned out super cool. Love the chop
Ian Strikes Again!... I Love it
Crazy project!😎👍👍!
What... NO... Hold up... Another project... No way man! 😅😂
This is the fast track to realise another transformation!
Great job by all, in one ep 😊
Really ambitious welding and fabricating project. Looking forward to seeing the finished car.
From Missouri here! Good show as always.
Jaime is a great video Grapher. All content, plus the hilarity of Ian being Ian. Please keep it up for my mental health. 😅
That is awesome that you are showing and helping someone else
Pretty cool chop and the total resectioning from one neat car to another. Nice save too can't wait to see the completion. Take care.
Ian you have skills that I can only wish for, WOW
Loving the lines of the chop! Wish it were mine!!!
Awesome vision and great job down to the finest details. I have not forgotten you guys. Rich
Excellent ian 😊
Love the top, looks cool!
This is my therapy watching you create 😊👍
Hi Ian, I loved your video I like the way you do things by the cuf I am just like you right now I am doing a 1977 Chevy Corvette stingray I think outside the box.
Awesome work guys!
Ian, Great job on the chop. I learned a lot just watching…. Thanks for what you do.. FCG premieres tonight, can’t wait!!!!
Hey Ian, I've heard about you for awhile and finally got to watching your channel. Awesome builds, thanks for sharing your work with the world. I subscribed and look forward to watching future episodes.
Awesome work!! Fantastic to see the build evolve!!
This was an awesome episode! Really cool to do the work with with the folks that brought the car down. You guys knocked out a rad looking car. This is gonna be a good one when it's done
What a vision !!look forward to seeing it complete
Man I'm so glad I found your channel, loved watching your show ..you are a magician ....just unbelievable!
SUPER! Cant wait for the rest.
That looks real good, it has style and attitude, i think the running boards really make the difference on chopped cars, they give it a wider footprint if that makes sense..
Crazy.. a lot of stuff done. Loving it!!
Awesome content!!
Loved the roll back of the coupe roof on to the sedan 2 door!
Wow, And without the invisioning tool.
Full custom counseling with the right messages just before Xmas 🎅
🙏😎
Another cut off wheel? Ian has used the same one for 5 years!😅
Great show guys. Content just keeps getting better! Thanks 👍👍👍
Amazing, Amazing Collaboration! Ian, Your brain thinks like a computer. Just go, go, go. Very impressive 👏👍👌
Custom but bordering on original, love it.
The coupé could still be a open top, and have some value to someone
What a great concept for a show....Every one did a really top job. If there wasn't 7000 miles of ocean between us I'd be dropping by with a car as well.
It took me a long time to realise that most people can't instantly see what some thing has the potential to be, with out having it drawn out on paper or computer.
