- Another day of messing around with hot rods. Getting the fleet back on track is turning into a full time job. Dani's car needed a little love before being put through its paces.
I had to move storage locations, so I figured I would take my Shelby Cobra home for a few days and determine its fate....

I’d definitely keep the Cobra. You’ll be kicking yourself with those cowboy boots if you sell it.
Keep it. Drive it, put it in storage. Take it out when the wild hair curls. Cobras are an enigma. Love or hate it, you have that choice by owning it. Once it's gone all you can do is wonder.
Someone else said it and I never realized the 57 convertible does look like the Quagmire-mobile! Giggity giggity goo!

I don't know why the channels doesn't like the Cobra. I love it, has been a dream of mine, but never the finance, or the skill to build one. So absolutely modify it to make it more comfortable for you. Enjoy it, and I will live my dream through you.

Stretch the Cobra and make it a 4 door hardtop. Kinda reverse job from the 57s. lol Kidding! I'd keep the Cobra and try to find a way to make it comfortable. There is always a way.

I'm a Ford guy, but I enjoy watching the work you do. Fabrication is fabrication, and getting anything to run and drive is very satisfying. I would love to own this car, unfortunately, I am out of room. I am trying to sell some cars, but it seems everyone that comes to look at my stuff has no money, or they lowball the hell out of you. I say keep it, make it your own, and enjoy it. do whatever you have to do to make it comfortable. You took the time to take a loan to buy it so it obviously is something you wanted. Screw what people say and be true to yourself!

Love the cobra. Would hate to see it go away. Absolutely try and make it fit you before you make any final decisions. Hopefully the nova will come back for a bit before the snow falls.
This is the first time I've seen the engine compartment. Really cool it's Ford powered, and not an LS ! That alone makes it special! Keep it!
I've built two Cobras over the years.....Nothing puts a smile on your face like booting the pedal in one of those....Dump a half dozen of the Chevys and keep the Cobra

Don't get rid of your cobra, you'll regret it later. And you do need to make Dani's 57 a ladies car that means power steering and brakes. Make it real easy for her to drive it.

I just love Quagmire's convertible Bel Air 😉 as far as the Cobra goes, obvious you enjoyed it in the past, make it a little more comfortable and enjoy some more and then get rid of it, it won't depreciate. Great video guys 👍✌️🇺🇲

No clue why the hate on the Cobra, really a cool little car. Only you and Dani can make the decision to keep or send down the road. $40 plus thousand is pretty tempting. It's not like you won't have something to drive. Whichever decision you make I'm sure it will be the right one for the both of you. And yes I agree with others, Dani needs power steering.

I love the cobra! Its really a nice driver, and as a guy about your size, im looking foward to seeing the mods you make. Ive always wanted one myself, but as you said, with values going up, I really dont see that happening. SO ya, if you can fit in it with changes, Id love to see you keep it.

For 10 or 15 grand it’s worth keeping. But for 40 grand you can have a lot more cooler stuff

Looks better as ragtop than a 4 door in the crusher. To Me, that was a good save. That was a fun build to watch. Comical build but a save nonetheless
Nice leak repairs! I like those kind. Need a tube from air cleaner into passenger compartment so you can uncle tony from the driver’s seat.. and you have T350’s coming out of every orfice!
Buy 2 sea cans and park em here. Free parking at Frank’s 5 acres. Easy to switch em out, just tell me which one you want, i drive it in, and bring back the one to park. Im starting to make more trips to the bright lights more often.
The wheels definitely suit the roadster.
Cobra is cool! It is in fact your car, do what you need to do.

Really enjoy ur channel thank you. I'm a Ford guy but your fab tips really help all around. That's a hard call on they Cobra I agree with other folks if you sell it you'll regret it. But on the other hand if you can't make it so you can enjoy it it's not really worth keeping. End of the day it's ur car ur decision. I'm watch no matter what👍
I love the red "roadsters"! Some kind of rain "shield" would be nice, but, hey,they are what they are! As long as they don't cost too much money to keep, I'd keep them. I dig the '57, but the Cobra is cool.

Plan for the Cobra sounds mint, fix it up, alter seating and pedal positions, fall in love again, or don't and then decide.
I would keep it. The only reason I would sell it is if you can not enjoy driving the car. Then, I would sell it for a different bucket list car, and then I feel you would not regret the loss of the car. Food for thought.
I don't know how well it will hold up to header heat, but I was told that the hot ticket for antique car steering boxes is John Deere corn head grease. I run it in the steering box of my 1912 Flanders 20 and no more leaks. :)

Dan, this car is awesome, just so you know, how Carol solved the shifting issue was, he took 65,66 Mustang shifters and turned them backwards, that’s why they point forward!!! Lots of documentation on this, guy was just brilliant!! Listen, I am 65 and love what you do, never apologize for what you are doing, trust me when I tell you, you are better than what most may say!! Stay strong and just do what you do!!! That’s why we all watch and appreciate what you do!! Thanks for keeping real hot rodding alive!!!

The cobra is a sweet car but I had forgot how beautiful that convertible 57 was since I haven't seen it in a while.
I'd never be able to get in the Cobra, but if I owned it, I don't think I'd sell it. But, it's yours, so do whatever makes you happy.
NEVER SELL THAT COBRA!!! I'm fairly new to this channel, I'm playing catch up with all your vids and this is likely my favorite car next to 2 lane blacktop. Absolutely dream car for me.

Keep it. You've got little in it compared to if you ever wanted to replace it.
Prime example why not to put a small steering wheel on a manual steer car!
KEEP THE COBRA! Dude, I LOVE it! Like you said, once it's gone, it's gone. The "buy in" is crazy. I regret selling my 72 Gran Torino Sport 351CJ 4SPD 17 yrs ago. I got good money for it but the cost to buy back in for a similar car is crazy.

Keep the Cobra. You'll be amazed what finding a couple extra inches of legroom can do, and that shouldn't be too hard to achieve if you change the seat around. The people who say "sell it" are probably only saying that because they're Chevy guys. You need at least one fancy fast car, and the Cobra is it. Best wishes whatever you decide to do.

D&D, when you first bought the 66 I left a comment saying that the color on the car was Aztec bronze. My father bought a new 66 super sport for speed and it’s what I learn to speed shift on. When you said you were selling the car or giving it away I just thought there’s just no way. After seeing it show up when you backed the car out of the garage that you still had it I’m wondering I’m wondering if the deal on the car still available. Jaguar D-Types don't have seats. They just have cushions straight on the ally tub. You could do something similar? I also saw a factory five with a really handy snap on roof at a show earlier this year. Something similar might make yours a lot more driveable.

I just got my father in law's cobra out of this garage for the first time in about 20 years.... he was able to drive it around the block after I was done with it.
I feel your pain on the fitment issue. I'm 6'5 and don't fit well in many cars. I have 55 Chevy 2 dr hardtop. I fit in that just fine
Adjust the pedals, move the seat back, drive it for the summer. Then, think about selling it if it's still too tight.
Put up a Canadian flag in the garage.
You should come to the east coast for the Atlantic Nationals. It’s a 4 day car show on the east coast.
