I enjoyed the video. Solid work man. You nailed it.💪. Maybe you can put a garage door opener on it too and watch it operate automatically. Look forward for more.💪👍😎
I reused the old ones, but if need new any local garage door supplier/installer will be able to source you the right springs and hardware. Home depot even sells springs and such, search "1 piece garage door kit". I'd still start local though 👍

Excellent #JonnyDIY THATS MY GARAGE DOOR 😆 Gotta rebuild it the same way it's been since the 70's when the garage was my father's Harley Davidson Chopper Shop It's all rotten like yours West Coastal salty sea winds lol rain to.
Thanks and you're welcome. That would be cool, I havent done one like that before, but with the hardware it would be pretty much the same thing. Easier maybe cause 2 possibly smaller doors. Just have to make sure have room on both sides of opening to slide doors. Or maybe you were thinking of a pull open door with hinges

Did you weigh the door before installing? I have one piece doors from the 50s and they weigh a ton because they're made of slats. They look great but I'm thinking about making new lighter doors that would be easier to open from inside.
Thanks Jonny! I have a very similar door and project. Do you have any trouble with the weather stripping on the frame because it's a tilt out/up style door?
You're welcome, happy to help. Not really, but it does kind of fold in and out as you open and close door. Still works, but maybe a seal on inside door edge of frame would have worked better since it would close on the seal

Great job! But, for me… houses built like mine…. This door would bring the ceiling down… I wish, at least then it would never get dented (from when she backs up too far).
Speaking about bow......your picture needs to be set.... It has a bow feel to it. Not being sarcastic. I have no knowledge of cameras or videos. Thanks anyway for your garage door build. It helped me greatly

Nice! Ohh wow how cool, a Harley shop 💕👍
Nice. Thanks... how about a double door type that is on rollers? I'm thinking that might be a good option for some spots.

Didnt weight it, but I it was the same or lighter than the old one which wasnt too heavy 👍

What’s gauge is that Ryobi nailer?
18 gauge. I like it. I just use it for trim work or tacking things together or instead of clamps with glue
@@JonnyDIY thanks for quick response. I’m looking at getting one, too. I’m going to help my dad with his garage soon. I’m subscribed now.
@@richardvirgen-slane6820 Cool thanks for subbing. Yeah I want to get a cordless framing gun next for building stuff
Would it be too heavy to build this door for a 16' x 8' garage?
Should be fine, just be sure the hinge hardware can handle the weight 👍
Hi there, approximately how much did you spend on wood materials? Thanks!
Not much at all. I think about $200
Great job! But, for me… houses built like mine…. This door would bring the ceiling down… I wish, at least then it would never get dented (from when she backs up too far).
Thank you! Yeah it's built very sturdy, no worries of denting it up like the thin metal ones 👍
