Check again when the buff has run out. At that point, I don't think it's a flying speed buff at all. I bet it's an attack speed buff. I think this because over the last few days, the longest distance i've been chased was 2 map squares by these bastards and barely manage to outrun them. Like, they're still so fast they are able to bite my wyvern as i try to fly away. You HAVE to put something between you and them so they get stuck or distracted. the old wyvern trap bird cages might work with a good high stam ptera.
the tropical wyvern's buff isnt from flying over water, its from touching it. you have to get the hitbox barely into the water but not enough to dismount you
Poor Nooblets was flying over the river at the same speed the whole time. You gotta touch the water with your wyvern, but not too deep or you'll get dismounted.
To lose wyverns, fly STRAIGHT UP until u hit world ceiling, then drop straight down, you'll be going so fast you've left render range halfway down. No need for any traps or anything.
Using a Daeodon with the healing buff on and having it eating from a feeding trough constantly and using stimulant to keep the wyvern awake you don't need any crystals to get it to an adult.
that only works on official or if your wyvern isn't low level/has enough food. Also you prob can't imprint that way because 9/10 times they want those damn crystals. It's ok for a discount wyv though
There's another method with griffin, as soon as get the egg fly straight up to the ceiling and drop all the way down when the dragon reaches you. You'll lose render and you're free.
can absolutely be done on a ptera with the classic gates trap (5 gateframes, pillars on the end and gate on opening end) and it's way faster. Just fly OVER the trap to get to the gate to close it or else they will escape but this method is safer and more reliable/can be done easier solo
The tactics are executed correctly, but not in the most efficient way. At least it gives the idea for the general players. And you mentioning the wyvern comb is a great memory of the past.
Instead of continuously diving with Griffin he stopped to show the distance, if he did that he would have outrunned the wyverns in half the time. Also building the wyvern comb at the border of the biome increases the chances of despawning the aggroed wyverns, so they won't come back to chase you after you return.
Not sure if this works on CI but it does on rag. All you have to do is kite the wyverns that are following you to a wild dino and they will usually drop agro. I have had them drop agro on a ptera more times than I can count. Just another suggestion for you all. Happy hunting!!
Maybe this is a dumb question. But if you have a disposable flying mount can you just fall into the water? I mean will the Crystal wyverns chase you underwater or will they hover at the surface and give up?
You can place behemoth gates on the come if you want to keep the dragons also you can tame wyvern you’ve knocked out with the trap if just wait a little
You can escape on Petradons without building that just span the analogue stock it gives you a little speed boost every so often makes it easy to escape
you use the chase to your benfit if you build a gyphone type trap and fly with a good ptera. you can get the cyrstal at the same time as you get the egg. also used to clear the lower levels so they dont lay shitty eggs
Nooblets I think the reason it was only giving you half of the crystals is because at 15:39 the [E] Take Crystals was grey not white like the one that gave you full crystals so maybe it has to do with when the Webern was last knocked out and harvested or health level mayeb

If you can get a Tropognathus and a ton of fuel it becomes son much easier. I wouldn't use one for SE though as the trench is a bit tight (and the Wyvern are slower).
Cool video, but I as far as the egg stealing goes, I found a much less time consuming method to acquire them with a Pteranodon. I built 8 plant species X turrets in 2 groups of 4 quite close to the hive, stole the eggs, flew back to the turrets (evasively) and had the Wyvrens shot down quite reliably. Using this method I bagged 3 eggs (and 4 Wyvrens) in the time it took you to make your escape with just one, I mean, they can't aggro on you if they're dead. Keep up the good work all the same.

6:30 i have a better idea a griffen is smaller than a wyvern so fly between the trees so you make them stuck and run away . or just do it like me get you a good pteradon with a nice stamina , steal the egg and flay as fastest as you can they won't catch up to you cuz you are small and faster .
So... for what I could see, it was easier to actually tame them than raising them. The large bear trap + gate strategy works perfectly to get enough crystals to tame an adult one. My main base is in Valguero, but it could also be possible to build an outpost in crystal isles.
Was that server or single player world u were playing on boosted? Is that how u were able to get a lvl 200 egg or was that normal for the eggs to spawn at that high of a level?
Vectis it’s normal for the wyvern eggs/wild heirs to sometimes be higher level than the max wild Dino level. For example, i have my max wild Dino level set to 180 and I saw a level 240. (Not sure what the max is for the eggs though.)

when i get close to a wild crystal wyvern my game crushes but when i get close to a tamed crystal wyvern my game just works perfectly does anyone know why thats happening and how can i fix it im on ps4 btw
To escape wyvren on SE i build a dino gate couple pillars either side with ceilings on top. Put metal spike walls on top and one either side. Pter, owl and Griffin fit through wyvren gets stuck while you get out of render. I have a couple a apart just in case one gets missed

I am having troubles with the Wyvern comb. My griffin will not fit between the combs to be able to catch the wyverns. I would also love to see the beginning of the building of the wyvern comb, instead of it being already laid out. I do not know if the answers I need are in the beginning building or if they have made the griffin and the wyvern the same size scale. Any help would be great.
Ppl used to call me crazy or dumb for using a trop wyv to steal eggs..but that hydration boost literally makes you go fast enough to lose Aggro from the eggs to the end of the desert biome near the white sand area

Ive tried breeding one last night, very disappointing. couldnt even hold 1 crystal, so i had to force feed it meat until it could one, and then force feed it several more primal so it could 5 at a time due to the timer. Is this an issue with bred ones only? cause it was around 195 when hatched. but the level 80 ember in this video was abl to take several right off the bat?
@@c.fyffe0 sorry for the late reply, generally dont respond to yt notifs cause i get so many, they eat meat as adults, but you have to forcefeed the babies raw meat, so they can hold primal, otherwise they starve, because they ONLY eat primal as babies and every other stage, adults being the only exception.

I suggest a pteranidon to take the egg and run then have a place set up with a bunch of dinos and then head there once the parents reach you then go into the dinos and let them kill the wyverns

You can fly a curve with the tropical wyvern so that the tip of his wing slightly touches the water. Works fine and you will never dismount.
The water has to reach u for u to dismount off the wyvern so does it really matter?
also when you get the buff a splash of water animation shows under you and a sound effect as well.

You can't tame the heirs, and if you hatch one of thier eggs it just becomes a normal crystal wyvern
They arnt even that much stronger as wilds the most i took from a heir was 68 or 70 damage i was on my ember wyvern

Raising them gets you higher levels and imprint buffs

You only have 5 empty inventory slots you need to off load more stuff. Then you will get all the crystals

Yes, they can be breed. The modded creatures tend to work a lot differently than vanilla, and they kept this quirk when Crystal Isles became official.
