Excellent video, you have a very clear, professional and direct presentation style that's frequently missing from a lot of the yt videos I see these days. The only thing i would have recommended would have been to put a section in there about passive taming, as that's sometimes more feasible for newer players. But keep up the good work, got a sub from me (and that's something I rarely ever do)!

You can actually steal eggs using a pteradon you just have to make sure you have good stam and once you steal the egg do some barrel rolls and head towards the oasis/desert type area with all the trees and get the wyverns stuck in them, I’ve done this on my first try but might go wrong for others
Another good method is, if you happen to have a NORMAL wyvern, beef up your wyvern's stats (melee damage especially), then grab an egg, fly a little ways out. You can't outrun or out-maneuver them so hover there and let the few attack you. With your beefed up stats, you should be doing at least 1000 pts damage for each of their 200 points (max I think). They always have the same attack. Breath weapon for about three passes, and then melee flybys (and the may generate more stamina for a fourth breath attack in this time). Every time they fly by, strike them...you can usually down one anywhere from 3 passed up to 8 passes. The Alpha is a completely different creature...though the attacks are still the exact same. The Alpha merely has more Health and Stamina (and obviously does a little more damage). I've had to land because the fight was lasting so long that I ran out of stamina...but the Alpha is polite enough to still fly low enough that I can strike at it. The only time I've experience any real damage was when I was swarmed by 5 or 6 of them...but that was still pretty minor.
I made some modifications to the trap and it works even better now. At one end of the trap if you stack dinogates 2 wide and 2 high you can fly through the trap instead of around it. If you put walls on the bottom dino gates, griffins will get stuck on the walls while you or a buddy punches the pin in.
This is what I do. Have Dino gates at the far end so you can fly straight though. I just use a charge battery for the pin pad. Now that I'm Tek tier I put a Tek behemoth gate at the front with a 10 sec auto close. So no more scrambling for the pin pad :).
Really helpful video, altho I was able to pull out a 165 fire wyvern egg with a griffin with 800 stamina on fjordur, all I did was start luring all the wyverns out and to a specific side of the trench I wss no interested in, since the wyverns were kinda far, I was able to easily escape with my griffin

Just fly to the game ceiling with griff then dive. they will dissappear when you drop far enough down and they will despawn in sky. Then your free to grab eggs
if you have access to Tek Gates, using a Behemoth for the Wyverns or the Dinosaur gate for the Griffins makes it was easier, just run through the gate keeping the Dino you want to tame/knockout close so they can get thru the gate while it's still open after you pass thru, it's easier to have them come thru on one end and have an opening on the other so your flyer of choice can get out easily.For Wyverns just use a Dinosaur gate on the end you escape thru as they cannot fit thru it and are trapped
Same as Ice Wyverns on Valguero. Their dino ids don't exist on the other maps (yet) so they can't be transferred off. They would just poof at the other end if you could.

Michelle You use Your Griffin I'll use my Tropical Crystal Wyvern with its Water Speed Boost I have also been known to use Tek Turrets to Kill Heirs when I Steal their Eggs, I Just Fly around wearing Tek Gear, steal an Egg and Fly Fast to my turrets and collect tallons and often times other stuff !! !
I just tamed myself a fresh argie to take my new tamed thylacoleo and bring it home, on the way back i met those guys and lose everything on them.. my Cristal water wyvern too :( and the saddest part ist the wyvern who killed everything and anything was just lvl 8 and i couldt do anything..
i hope you can breed them to extreme high levels and major mutation stacks too oh to have those wyverns with a melee that would knock out a mek in one shot

that is a good idea but you need a wyvern egg to get a tropeognathus, because you need extraordinairy kibble, you can u other eggs but i think a wyvern egg is easier
@@seeshellgaming6883 I haven't tried whips with crystal wyvern eggs, have used them for snapping up low level duds dropped by dickheads in nest holes or in midair at the standard wyvern trenches and I have used them for grabbing wild dein eggs during color events though. May give it a try with the crystal nests during the Easter color evo

i haven't seen a nest yet! and i know that's where they are. i haven't 100% investigated yet but iv looked quite extensively. i seen u were by an artifact too! il look again i guess. thanks
keep in mind that the wyverns on console were bugged to crap when they launched the game for console players. that is one contributing factor. The other is that if you are playing solo it does naturally take a lot longer for the eggs to spawn in. you need to keep in mind that when you are playing on a normal server the time keeps going on after you have logged off but when you play on single player and you log off time will stop in game thus those egg laying creatures don't have enough time to drop those eggs. render distance also affects the eggs dropping as well to especially on single player.
Had this issue on rag. They'll spawn, but you need to find a place to AFK for some time. If you're on single player type in "Slomo" and a variable between 1 and 5. I think 1 is default. Try that out. Or bring it up with your server mods. I'd recommend sitting somewhere safe to do this. You have to be near the nests on SP.
I mean it is entirely up to you. I use the trench every now and then. it depends on how confident I feel. If i don't feel to comfortable with my griffins stamina if it was like a lower level then I would use the trench to help get it stuck, but when my stamiina on a griffin is 1100 or higher I generally just dip straight away.
Me and my friend got 7 wyvern eggs using A whip. You have a friend carry you on a high level wyvern fly over the nests then whip them its not that difficult just make sure you don't accidentally whip your wyvern.
No you are not doing anything wrong. this is a common thing that can happen. If you are on an official or rented server or even in single player the eggs can despawn, meaning that the eggs can spoil. Ark has not made a way for any eggs to actually disapear after they despawn. So if you pick up an egg if you look quickly enough on the left of your screen it will say spoiled fertilized egg, etc. This can happen with drakes and it can also happen with wyverns, magmasaurs. The only way for you to fix this is by picking up eggs. If no one goes to collect eggs for a week they will spoil and then when you go to pick them up they spoil as you pick them up. Does that make sense?

Yes a snow owl could definitely be used. I didn't use one because you have to have the Extinction DLC in order to get the snow owl to begin with. I tried to aim more towards the people who have all of the free maps and none of the paid content.

Snow owl would be a good idea. I didn't do any creatures from Extinction because this is a free DLC and I wanted to show that you could still do it without getting other DLCs in Ark. Very good Idea though.

When the wyvern wakes up they pop out of the trap (tried 6 different times). You can use regular crystal (not recommend because it takes a bunch and takes forever to tame, plus you lose alot of effectiveness).
Yes you can do it with wyverns but you will need the primal crystals to passively tame yourself one to begin with which means you will need to knock out a wyvrn. I did it with a griffin you can do it with a pteradon it is literally the cheapest and simplest way if you want to progress quickly.

@Caden Kenny I use a mod and put them in a soul ball and transfer them. Haven't tried cryo'ing them, but I don't see why you couldn't.

To anyone wanting to know these rates for crystals are boosted. On official you can get about 11-16 crystals from a wyvern.
Dang i knocked out two lvl 130 and 125 today and only got 4 from both lol on official pvp too.
All you have to do is just use a snow owl or a pig for passive healing

I used my tropical crystal wyvern to grab and also used the griffin trench to escape

Tropical wyvern works as well. just make sure you skim the water to get the speed boost

I found that if you fly low around other creatures the wyverns get easily distracted and attack other creatures.

I used a tropeo for this. The jet bird 🐦 was quite a safe choice for the getaway dino.

I barely have nests, are there settings i need to be aware of? i increased the egg laying of wild dinos, but still ,barely nests showing up
Syntac said that the some spawns are glitched and they spawn under the ground
For the hovering nest, I would assume you can use a whip to collect the egg, since you can use weapons from the back of a griffin.

I think you're refering to tropeganthus. I'd also like to see a guide on that, haven't done any chain bola tames and am a bit intimidated by it.
Try to use rare flower, then lead it to a taming pen and trap it in there
My tactic is to tame a low level tropical first and use their water buff which u gain speed from and just outrun them

Actually in one of the last patches they fixed the transfer obelisks to other maps but not sure if cryopods

With a little effort you can build a 'sky fork' like nooblet did. Then you can use any mount as long it fits through a 1x10 gap 😁

When the wyvern wakes up they pop out of the trap (tried 6 different times). You can use regular crystal (not recommend because it takes a bunch and takes forever to tame, plus you lose alot of effectiveness).
I went to go get some wyvern eggs and putting turrets down and leading the wyverns to them is a lot easier than just running.
yeah but it is also expensive to make bullets.

Yes you can do it with wyverns but you will need the primal crystals to passively tame yourself one to begin with which means you will need to knock out a wyvrn. I did it with a griffin you can do it with a pteradon it is literally the cheapest and simplest way if you want to progress quickly.
