I usually never mess around with Oviraptors but that constant jump over the nest seemed very hilarious, along with it being able to snatch such a large egg
Btw, they can also reduce mating time and mating interval of most creatures. You also don't need fertilized eggs.

Idea: put security cameras around the wyvern trench in all of the areas where eggs can spawn that way you can check every nest really fast without risking dying
But wouldn't the eggs not spawn unless your player in nearby? Doesn't the game scan for players in render, no cameras in render?

Many creatures have hidden abilities if you look at the Utility section on gamepedia it tells you everything the creature can do. Like mesopithecus can unlock doors and Iguanodons can seed fruit there are a lot of them

Going into scorched earth with this tactic using a ghille set (even just a primitive set) and cactus broth, would make it incredibly trivial to actually get your hands on a wyvern egg. Then it's as easy as storing the egg in a fridge for safe keeping while you get milk for the eventual-infant, which would then be considerably more difficult than getting the egg itself by comparison.

When running from the wyverns, you dont need mammoths or brontos around to distract them. Pacers work as well, which there are plenty in that area of the desert, by the wyvern area.
When I go wyvern egg hunting I just aggro every single wyvern at once and yeet them with my lightning wyvern
You can't be attacked by wyverns if they're all dead

One thing i did that might be fun is a Mutated Chalicotherium Army. The ones i took only had 2 health mutations and i took them against the Megapithicus and using those actually made the Megapithicus challenging. SO if you ever want to have the Megapithicus give you a challenge, use a Chalico army

The oviraptor increases the speed in which other dinos lay eggs and I think it also decreases the time needed between nearby dinos mating so I tend to use them a lot

I once got a crystal wyvern to kinda look like syntac colors, fun making it it wasnt purfect but it was like a cyan an yellow(complimentary color)

This has to be the least used ability in ark. I've known about it since it was implemented. Never once have I seen or heard of someone using it.

I've always loved this ability. Made a point of stealing Rock Drake eggs on Fjordur last year with one. Good times.

If you open admin controls in the Dino Storage Soul Terminal, you can recall souls which also works to get more than one of any Dino you’ve had in a trap.
Could you use a noglin to take control of a oviraptor then use it to grab an egg?

That's an awesome secret ability.
I felt that when the first dart didn't count on the oviraptor 😭 (currently breeding Manas over on Extinction and getting new ones is like, oh I got it netted, I shot the dart in its head, doesn't count, me scrambling for the duration of the net still counting to get it unconscious since they aggro on everything)
Imagine if you used them to raid nests on that series where you had to raise up babies from lvl 1. When your galli killed the giga wild in the Highland base on Ragnarok. Throw it at the nest and run. It might be ignored when everything goes after you. Keep whistling go here to keep it up ahead.
You can also use the Shadowmane to easily jump between nests, grab eggs, then stealth and it will instantly drop agro.
Won't matter if you have camouflage ability, they will still see u before you get close

Dragon still will see you. I already tested with both rock drake and shadow. Turned stealth then approached their area, they saw me coming before I got any closer

@@nicolaskoontz6553 Youre also supposed to go invis AFTER stealing the egg, which will drop aggro long enough for you to get away. Ive done it to wyverns, rock drakes, and even magmasaurs on lost island

Should check if it works with putting the ovi on wander. I personally don’t know if I’ll ever use it but it’s a cool thing I didn’t know about!
The cubbies in the wyvern area used to spawn nests, and might still, but the map has shifted up about 1 wall height so if the old fire/poison/lightning nest spots are still active they are below the mesh now. I ran around with a bred up pack of oviraptors in the swamp before kapros were introduced, they can be fierce lil dudes. Yea i have never seen a wild tropical crystal wyvern egg, even spawned 100 tropical wyverns to saturate the area and not a single egg.
Wild tropicals don't have eggs it's tame only
A blood wyvern with a silver or white body and dark purple wings would be dope!
My blood crystal wyverns are that actual black on the main body and wings, with that royalty wing edges, dark blue fins on the back, and a blood red underbelly. Honestly, a solid black one would look really cool too. Or a dark red... My ember wyverns are while, yellow, and the leaf green looks like neon green on them.
Used to have a fully black blood with a red belly, was beautiful. We started a new server and I almost have fully black fire wyverns. I just want fully black wyverns

Tropical wyvern eggs do spawn in the crystal wyvern trench, I've grabbed eggs from them before

You have to feed the tropical wyverns crystal but it is a passive tame so the best way to do it is hop on its back and passively feed it normal crystals
Hey syntac since you have soul terminals you don't need a cloner if your admin on the server you can actually admin local find your dinos in a terminal and get a copy of that Dino 😉 I found that bug in the mod a few weeks ago 😄

Im playing gen 1 and for the first time ive gotten semi-late game(ive got some fabricated stuff like thw pump and a scuba set) and i was thinking of trying to go to the volcano for the first time and get a magmasaur egg, then i read about the oviraptor and find out it has this ability, one bog excursion later and i have a pachysaur(the pachy trike with magic farts) a baryonix and an oviraptor then i went to bed so i will update you later today on how the magmasaur egg hunt went

Whenever I used ovi's they would aggro the wild dinos around, so I found them pretty useless. I used them a few times to collect dino eggs around the base. It's been a while since I played tho, stuff might have changed.
Syntac you should try and get mutations on a blood wyvern that turn it white instead of black, but keep the red wings. Make it a “White blood cell” wyvern

i mean you could, but as long as they dont spawn around the nest you would still be better off with a tamed instead of searching and transporting a new one
The noglin kills wild creatures in minutes however you can steal other players tames with a noglin then breed the stolen tame
Could you use this if you carry one with an argy cause you can put it on follow when you pick it up
