Yes it does
A cheeky way to tame a high level one is to trap it, KO it for crystals, then leave render range before it wakes up. Then feed it it's own crystals after releasing it from the trap, if it didn't get out on it's own.
I just did that but died n came back!
I built a behemoth gate on a stone platform about 7 or 8 blocks, I built a surrounding cage out of stone walls, a huge hatch at the top for a speedy exit. I use a pteradon as bait, close the door behind the wyrven as it attacks the bird, exit up top
I use 3 Stone gates. You can do it with 2. No honey or bear trap just place with tinting. Keep picking up after when mess up.
For Anyone wondering you can just use normal crystal. The taming bar going down was just a glitch and is now patched.

Appreciate it! Was really not wanting to have to go through the process of trapping and tranq darting one just to get the primal crystals, I’ll definitely get on top of taming one in the morning as I don’t have a flyer that can carry other Dino’s yet.
So I'm trying to tame a wyvern this very moment and the taming bar still goes down is it still a glitch

he's good. super pros wont show you the real way, we dont want anyone knowing the best way to tame anything. Theres shit in Ark that noone will ever find out cause people are so secretive of the true pro ways.

you don't need to put down honey or anything just trap them when theyre against trees, they normally get themselves tangled. Also preserving bin doesn't work but crystal extends an hour while being held by another crystal wyvern. Just use a grappling hook. for some reason, it wont let you tame some of them even if it says "press Y to tame" but I was able to tame 4 or 5 from one batch of dropped primal crystal
Never knew they liked honey, I made loads of dino gates trapped like 6 of them so I could get a 145 blood, and a 100 Tropical, one thing I found they do not stay trapped, I built a 7x7x7 stucture to contain one as you can farm the crystals every hour, like the milk, but if you go out of vision range of them, they escape the structure. however staying in their vision range they can not escape.

found that on times 4 taming a 150 take 8 primal crystals which you should get from knocking out a level 60 or higher

if you have a hard time getting on its back like me, you can use a grappling hook to either get easly on its back or just hang after it, like the good old days when taming quetz and other flyers :) love your guides nooblets! :)

When I first saw the Tropical crystal Wyvern it looked like the Fire wyvern (just with crystals and different colors more brighter from what saw and breathe attack).

Helps immensely if you already have some kind of wyvern. They like to land on stupid ledges, especially in the white shoal area. If you have a wyvern you can land and you don't actually jump off into the abyss

Just remember, the wild dino picking up only applies for unofficial (I don't know if official PvP allows it).

Couldn’t you just wait for the high level one you trapped to de aggro and then feed it when it’s trapped or trap one in a similar way?
Hey Nooblets been watching your surface videos on Aberration, was wondering if you've tried the skiff with a base on it hovering. Been wanting to try it but I'm on official so it would be pretty costly
would it extent the spoil timer of the prime crystals in the preserving bin if you add preserving salt ?
About how long will this take? Also can you use regular crystal up to lvl 15 or 45. I’ve seen both.

Crystal verns go faster but yeah I don’t understand why they didn’t release the map for everyone it’s pretty cool

theoretically could you just trap one wyvern and knock it out over and over again to get more crystals? or can you only harvest crystals from any particular wyvern once? Because im thinking you could just trap a high level one and knock it out every so often to have a reliable crystal source.
Great vid, however I’ve noticed for all you console players that you can also use regular crystals for the whole tame, mine was stuck on a tree and I kept feeding it regular crystals and it didn’t even go down or get that bad of taming effectiveness, about 73.7 percent

They must have updated this as I tamed a few 130 plus yesterday with just being on its back with normal crystals no issue level 140 came out level 189

Hey nooblets, are the normal crystals better than the rough or other sorts you can find on the new map?
Normal crystals work, all my wyverns were tamed with normal crystals no matter the level by riding on its back and feeding every 20 seconds, it takes a little longer to get hungry after the first crystal, tame progress never dropped even when I once fell off and died I came back and continued taming(may drop if you take too long), maybe not as fast as using primal crystals but definitely faster than going through the process of building smithy, traps, gate traps, finding a suitable spot to place everything, getting honey etc if you're just starting with nothing. For me it took 82 crystals to tame a lvl 90 and ended up lvl 118, and it took 33 minutes, not the best you can get and the most effective but it's good enough compared to hours of grinding. What I like to do is find a tropical wyvern fast, no matter the level, tame it and then fly looking for higher levels and other subspecies.
If you attack one of the crystal wyverns (the one you want to knock out) if there are other ones to close will they agro on you?
This trap doesn't seem to work on MTS at the moment. After 8 attempts I ended up making an old-school Ragnarok pillar trap, both for the crystal harvest and passive tame. Maybe some anti-mesh / anti-stuck mods going on.

Are there green blue and red crystals like Abb and val on this map- and do they work or is it just normal white crystal (plus the wyvern crystal)
I’ve done a lvl 20 wyvern with normal crystals on an official server, it still works.
Dumb question but what do you press to feed it while on its back? Do you press E or 0?
Best creature color mix in the game in my opinion.
So I dunno if this would work or not... but if you can feed it while your on its back.. can you climb onto one, bolla it and trap it all while standing on its back? Lol just a thought..but seems like it could work especially since on official servers the whole beach line is pillard

For anyone as confused as I was you can tame them with normal crystal as long as you stay on its back and feed it quickly its taming won’t lower
That’s what I thought, because it didn’t really make any sense that it’s taming bar would just start dropping after an amount of time, even if you were on top of feeding it constantly the second it pops up that’s it’s hungry, I’ll probably just use normal crystals then, as having to go through the process of trapping and tranq darting the thing just seems a bit tedious.
@@Qballiz2kool no ususally the taming would go down before its hunger hit and at some point wouldnt even replace the taming lost but its fixed now apparently
I knock out a wyvern then i take the crystal. The system said add 20 crystal but i only got 10. Is this bug

why cant you just lure one into a gate trap with honey and then passive tame it instead of having to ride it around? or would that work too?
