Good demo. I received my new bike yesterday ( same version as yours ) and surprise, surprise, just one key fob. There's no backup in case of loss. Greetings from Portugal.
Greetings! Mine came with the small plastic backup which I promptly lost (I'll find it in the house 5 years from now), but I wanted an OEM backup as well.
I had a 2019 K1600GA It did not come with a under body light. I purchased from a website and the light and it didnt work. You had to take it to BMW so they can unlock that feature (meaning flip a software switch). Then it worked all the time. I dont own this bike, yet! But it seems like to me if you find or purchase this alarm off hand and not from the dealer. When you go to get your oil change just tell them it was never turned on (activated) your bike is going to be connected to there system regardless anyway. So a good dealer will just activate it for you at no charge since your getting work done.
I would imagine if you rocked it off the stand (or in general) it would go off. Sounds like I need to make a vid about that and the question about the front tire!
I had the FOB too when I bought the bike, I purchased another one for around $300USD. The alarm cost me around $600USD for the system and for the shop to install it for me.
Hello, i'm bad at english. Could anyone explain : with ktm i had a red key and two black keys but for my s1000xr 2016 yr not, is red key exist for my xr? And, here is an installed dwa but no keychain alarm trinket, should i have it or my xr and dwa will work fine as is? If dwa will work, how i should switch alarm off(when it's triggered)?
Just a question is the DWA module plug&play or in need to be installed by a BMW dealer? I’m asking because I want to understand if I buy it used if I can install it by my own
Not plug and play. I bought my DWA used from a store in Australia. I installed it (5 minutes), but had to go to the dealer to have it programmed to communicate with the ECU. The bike was under warranty still so SW update was free of charge.
It's a shitty alarm. A 25.000 euro bike and a 600 usd alarm with not perimeter sensor and no remote control alarm. Also the way its located its can be disabled with 15 seconds.
Had mine done on my R1250RS by BMW UK last week. It cost me £346. Equivalent in dollars $450. Well worth the money!
Absolutely agree! Enjoy the new addition to the bike.

Hi, mine came also with the plastic key, but what I ment was that another key fob might be usefull. Safe riding.
Exactly, now that I have two FOBs I'll probably never lose one. If I had only had one, well you know the deal...
New bike coming second fob ordered and specked an alarm too here in the UK we also get a tracker fitted in the price 👍👍
Very nice, all things that are often overlooked but essential for trips I believe.

Fantastic a must have.
Thanks for the video. Does the alarm go off if you tinker with the front wheel? Or only when you tilt the whole bike
I'll have to give it a try, but I think there is a gyro which activates when you tip the bike.
How dose that alarm work if bike is stilling on center stand? Thank you for the video!

Don't forget a savings on insurance. Small but still relevant.
Absolutely, a great point.
I already have the fob, how much will it cost to install the alarm module alone and activating it?

Thanks much!
Alarm is pretty cool to be fair. BMW prices though 🤦♂️. If not home and goes off how long will it continue to go off for? Neighbours be fuming 😅
I've had a few questions on the alarm over the off season, looks like another video is in the works.
My 2010 GSA had the alarm...old news bro.
Old is good sometimes.
How long does it does it take to install the alarm
It took them about an hour.

For this model year I had it installed by the dealer, I'm sure one could probably do it on their own
Not plug and play.

@@edgarpicazo5993 do you have a link where you purchased this. I am gonna do the same thanks!
@@firstphoton655 no but it was on ebay
The plastic key will still disarm the alarm.
Absolutely, I just wanted another full key as a backup.
