    Loved the video and good job on that front end. I like the attention to detail... the sound change of the bearing races when they bottom out for example.

    Greetings and CONGRATULATIONS Alex. Your work is very enriching and illustrative. I love that pickup with manual transmission. I was stunned by the cost of the nut; if you say it is expensive; it is! You know; we grease the bearings the same way; the old school way. And please never say that "I'm not really good at ..." BECAUSE YOU ARE THE BEST AT EVERYTHING YOU DO, OK!! I am very excited about the work you will do in the following weeks; that pickup will be totally new and repowered. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR VIDEOS. I send you a HUG and BLESSINGS FOREVER!! 🙏

    Are you migrating to "working" video content? If so, I'm excited! You give always give more in depth, knowledge based information on your channel compared to other TH-cam channel content, of which is usually glued and glittered with biased opinions.

    • @GettysGarage
      @GettysGarage  หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I’m certainly looking to integrate more working videos on the channel, but I’ll still drop a weekly “review” video on the newer stuff if that makes sense. My ideal plan is to have a build video every 2 weeks

    Torque king 4x4 carries just about everything you could need for that truck, check them out. They saved my ass on my 95 ebf150 when I did the rebuild on it.

  • @JLCmike4014
    @JLCmike4014 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I did this same overhaul on my ‘99 F-350 about a year ago only difference is i only had to change the drag link off the gearbox for steering components. She’s got all new balljoints, u-joints, and seals galore on that frontend.
    A few ideas for upcoming videos;
    1. Replace all 4 banjo bolts in the cylinder heads. They are a massive fuel restriction.
    2. Delete the check valves for the fuel lines going into the heads. Another massive fuel reatriction.
    3. Install a high pressure crossover tube. It will balance out the ICP pressure between the heads.
    4. Since you have a fuel leak in the valley, that’s most likely the fuel pump leaking. It’s common for the pump to crack and leak fuel in the valley. I highly recommend installing a marty’s E-fuel kit to delete the pump in the valley.
    Doing that stuff will really smooth out the engine. Those 7.3L engines love fuel, i have no idea why ford would restrict them the way they did.

    • @GettysGarage
      @GettysGarage  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Awesome Stuff! I'll look into those fuel restrictions! I'm hoping the fuel leak is just a seal on the fuel filter housing but we'll see.

    • @JLCmike4014
      @JLCmike4014 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @, if it’s coming from the fuel filter housing then it’s probably the drain valve o-rings, very common.

    Truly enjoyed your video and will continue to follow even though I'm not an H-D truck guy. Only you know what your long term plan and needs for this truck. However, my good neighbour has experience with older Power Strokes and I do know more power usually equals shorter life. Keep them coming as finances permit.

    Subscribed, looking forward to learn from you on what you do with your OBS 7.3. Suggestion for future content, general theme of keep it ultra reliable and efficient. Improve cold start. Which aftermarket gauges to add. Does adding an intercooler make a difference. Does turbo upgrade make sense with keeping it reliable and the effect on MPG. Maybe specific for my case, what are the effects of changing final gear ratio from 4.10:1 to 3.55:1 have on drivability and highway MPG? In my part of the US, normal flow of traffic is ~ 70 MPH, would like to lower the RPMs for highway driving, don't tow heavy, just an open trailer with 2,000 lbs race car.

    So Alex, is that next week when you find out the inner axle seals leak and you have to pull the axles out all over again, pull off the diff cover and the diff carrier itself to replace the seals 😁

  • @roynichols5212
    @roynichols5212 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Did you put the dust caps on the axle housing before sliding in the axle shafts? Did over a hundred of these in my work life and i forgot it once🤬. Nice job . Get yourself a shop press. 12 to 15 T will do you just fine. Saves swinging the hammer sometimes.

      I thought the leafs in the front looked flat as hell, but I think they all come like that. I looked up new front leaf springs and they look flat also. tbh I'm happy with the ride height.

      @ you’re right about the flat springs for sure , the kit mostly takes away some of the harshness in the front. Keep up all the great content and I’m looking forward to your next videos

      lol I'll see about the music!

    • @charlesb4267
      @charlesb4267 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GettysGarage I honestly think ( just my opinion of course ) that the music could be utilized on some lengths of fast forward video as a noise filler but not used while you are at normal speed "live" so to speak working on on a component. I like to hear the impact work, the strikes of the hammer and yes the cursing words as things go sideways, the air blow gun, even the sound of the can of lube or brake clean, and your voice explaining things without any overlay sounds that take away from the true shop environment. Put another way, without any un natural noises it gives the audience the true intimate experience of feeling like they are right there. Another example of a noise and you did that well, the sound of your electronic torque wrench. I would say for the most part your audio as per your voice coming through and the noises around you are being picked up well as that is a bad video experience when I see a video where they are too far away from the mic and talking about something important and its all getting lost, that's frustrating to watch as well. Anyway hope you don't mind me throwing out my two cents about this topic as I know you put a lot of work, sweat, and personal costs, probably some blood too into making this style of video.
