So which is the best? BUY HERE (affiliates): (Coupon: BEASTMADE) 1. Ridge: amzn.to/3SyTaAc 2. Ekster Aluminum: bit.ly/3mJ5yU6 3. Ekster Parlaiment: bit.ly/3MOKVk1 4. Tracker card: bit.ly/3mQxxRD
yeah this. I like the aesthetic of the ridge but unfortunately its kind of ass as your cards are hard to retrieve and they WILL get dented on the sides. Esker or Code 118 do a better job with ease of access to your cards and they will be covered by the metal casing. If ridge was able to add that mechanism somehow to their wallets it would be the best of both worlds.
Ridge wallet does take time to get use to. Hold the ridge with your left hand push out the cards from the notch with your thumb. In one smooth motion use your right thumb and index finger to pinch, pull, and fan out your cards as if you’re playing a card game. Easy peasy unless you have arthritis = / keep your most used cards in the front or back for quick access.
Ditto! I got the Ridge as a gift and I've been using it since. The money clip is fab - my cash never falls out. Plus I also like the various colour/schemes offered by Ridge. I think I'll still try out the Ekster and see which one I like better...
I can vouch for Ridge. I’ve been carrying a Ridge with a cash clip for about 5 years. I’m a frequent flyer so I’m in my wallet numerous times a day getting in and out of hotels and spending money. In 5 years the elastic is still as tight as the day it arrived. I’ve also never had cash fall out or off of the clip. I even use it for some of the hotel keycards that are bigger than a normal bank card. All in all, Ridge makes a great wallet. FYI @2:33 you’re never gonna get the cards in because you’re putting them in backwards. Cards go in the side opposite of the thumb hold.
Thanks for comment! Glad to hear about your long-term experience with Ridge. It's a great wallet. As for the video clip, you're right. I have a lot of video footage, and for whatever reason, I chose that portion for the video.
I've used a Ridge wallet every day for going on seven years, so I can address your concerns: The elastic that holds the wallet together has no visible wear on it. I did originally have a cash strap and the elastic on that did wear out. Both are replaceable. I replaced the strap with a money clip. Both hold cash securely. The one issue I did have is with the screws, which would work their way out and I'd find them in my pockets. After a year or so I got a replacement set and haven't had an issue since. A big feature of the Ridge is it has the greatest chance of fitting comfortably in a watch pocket. You might not think being a little bigger in the height or width department matters, but it can rule that carry option out.
Although I’m somewhat satisfied with my ridge wallet, I can say it is not worth the $100 price tag. If you don’t mind me asking, how well does the Ekster hold up over time?
Great review! I started with the Exster Parliament wallet, I think it’s a great design, but I started running out of room fast because I have to carry a lot of cards on me five just for work(drivers license, ambulance license, medical examiners, EMT license and then a door card key) then an ATM and credit card and then a couple of other cards that I have to carry. So the Parliament started to get fat fast and was hard to close even without cash inside of it, also only held six cards inside the case part with the ejection button. I then switched to the ridge with the money strap, because of the amount of cards I have to carry. I agree I think these are the best two options and you have to decide which one best fits your needs! Oh, one more thing, Exster has a great return policy so if you decide after a few days it doesn’t fit your needs then they will take it back as long as you save the packaging and it doesn’t look like there’s damage to the wallet.
Card storage on the ridge is super awkward, in order to get any middle cards you have to fiddle with the outer cards to even get to it. The Ekster allows for easy movement of any card position because the fanning allows enough exposure to pull any card, plus having your most used card at the back is insanely intuitive with how fast you can take it out
I’m enjoying my esker so far but I will say the ridge is also very nice. I have the ridge with the cash strap and I’ve played around with different amounts of bills. For the 2 years I’ve had it I’ve never lost any cash using just the strap. Esker is a lot easier to get to your cards and looks more sophisticated. If you have any extra cards they can go under the plate.
Ive had a ridge around 5 years and its held up pretty goodnni have zero difficulties with it, and the elastic band hasnt even frayed yet. Its in my pocket every day. My only issue that ive also had with different wallets is dirt getting between the cards and scratching them.
I’ve had the Ekster for a couple years now and I still love it. My only complaint is the elastic strap wears out over time and you have to keep adding cards to keep them tightly secured. I wish they had a user-replaceable mechanism for this.
My reasoning for going with the Ridge other than it's sworn testimonies from others is a bit niche and personal to my tastes because I love a certain look/pattern to any kind of wallet I own. But as much as I'd loved to have given my business to other minimalist wallet companies...Ridge is the only metal minimalist wallet company that made their design in realtree camo (or albeit the most current iteration of the pattern). Probably something silly to others but that's my own personal taste and hence why there's so many options for everyone. I do think though the fanning card feature with Ekster is a very nice touch and improvement over the Ridge. Also their leather wallet looks great in quality.
Been using Ridge for several years. Never was a fan on the ease of use aspect. Recently got a cardholder pro and key organizer from Ekster. Should arrive in a few days.
I've owned a ridge now for 5 years. I can vouch for the cash strap, and the rest of the straps on the wallet. I've carried anywhere between $5, and $2500, and it's held up great. I am a very active person who enjoys many different powersports such as atv, snowmobiling, adventure riding, and motorcycling. I just decided to go away from my ridge because it DESTROYS cards. This could be because of my hobbies, but having been through several debit and credit cards, I decided to choose a wallet with a divider for each card.
I’ve had my Ekster Aluminum Waller for 2 and a half years and I have had absolutely no issues with it since I got it. The card pushing mechanism is a blast to just sit there and play with. I usually keep about 6 cards in there and no more than 5 bills in terms of cash carrying. But overall I’ve loved Ekster and recommend it to anyone who wants to try a minimalistic wallet.
Had a knock off Ridge for 4 years with the money clip. Only issue I've had is a screw came loose and lost it. Otherwise the knock off has done real well for $20.
I have the Ekster Aluminum and I love it. Plus it was 62 dollars on the Ekster site. I’m gonna run this wallet til it breaks..then maybe I’ll try something else. Very impressed with Ekster.
So far my favorite is the Ekster wallet with trigger for fidget people, I actually bought a knock off from Temu or Ali like it but I think I like the cash elastic bands better than the money clips. But I also like the Cappla Wallets because of the color choices.
With me back in 1980s i used a money cilp but by the 1990s when the average person had at least half a dozen plastic cards of one sort or another i was forced to carry a bifold leather wallet for the cards then near the end of 2022 when i was looking for a new wallet i was hearing about the ridge wallet's but was put off buy thier price but found more affordable copies although they are tiny in size they are awkward to use especially when the card you want is in the middle but since june2023 ive used what is my favourite wallet which is an ekster style wallet made by vulkit that has a top loading cardcase in the centre and a leather trifold wallet on the outside for extra cards and cash and you can still stick in a front trouser pocket as it is only a little bit bigger in size than a credit card while being about twice as thick as a ridge style with about 9 cards and and a few notes in it. Ive found out it all comes down to personal choice or needs because on a day to day basis i prefer an ekster style wallet but if i am going out for an evening when i won't need to carry all my cards but just a few select ones and a bit of cash then i prefer a ridge style for the smaller form factor and convenience of accessing the cash
You just have to pinch the ridge wallet at the corner by the finger cut in to spread the cards out after you push them out. It may not be as easy as the button but I got ridge for the durability as much as a smaller wallet.
The only thing I don’t like about my ekster wallet is the AirTag clip moves around a lot and it’s really annoying. When I’m putting it in my back pocket because it slides up I have to push it back down.
Comparing Ridge to Ekster is like conparing soda to juice. They're both good for different reasons. Ridge should be be compared to Rossm and Ekster should be conpared to Code 118.
Eksters biggest flaw is metal/titanium cards tend to slip out when you turn the wallet upside down, which is how some ppl will place it in their pocket. Try it!
I've tried several of these new age (aluminum, platinum, titanium, whatever) minimal wallets at high-end boutiques. I thought were leaps and bounds ahead of a tradition wallet...but I say, I still prefer my Jackson Wayne minimalist wallet. There's just something that feels right about carrying a high-quality leather minimalist wallet - it just feels like comfort. Moreover, based on how my Jackson Wayne wallet looks and feels after 5-years...pretty sure this wallet may outlive me. We shall see. I would buy another Jackson Wayne wallet or two...but I just don't need another. LOL! However, I think I'm going to start passing 'em out as gifts. Enjoyed.
I use a Saddleback Leather ID wallet (minimalist in style) and it’s been my go-to for years. I agree, I prefer leather as well. But I know there are many people who love these wallets, and I think for good reason. But that Jackson Wayne wallet is hard to beat!
I want the Ekster Parliament Wallet. That is a nice wallet. Can it fit cash inside it? I'm very fussy when it comes to adding cash inside a minimilist wallet.
The big drawback to the ridge is the price although the design's are nice and the wallets being compact personally for me I find it better to get something similar to the ridge but at a cheaper price but a ridge is a good choice if you can afford one the ekster wallet is a bit to much like a slightly simmer chunky wallet also at a to high a price point and thier are cheaper ones out their the way I see it is why carry a wallet that costs way more money than you carry around you might just end up being mugged for your wallet rather than the cash and in it
i have NEVER had any money fall out the ridge wallet and you were putting the cards in the incorrect way. the thumb hole is on the bottom and you load the cards from the top
Came real close to getting an Ekster wallet but moving parts means eventual breakage, which is not something I want to risk with money and cards. More importantly, I'm not a fan of the cash trifold that both the Ekster and the Ridge want us to do; it's ugly, bulky, and ATMs just won't take bills folded like that. But at least a Ridge with cash strap can securely hold bills folded in half. Sure, a bit will stick out on both sides but you can carry more bills that way and it's still minimalistic.
One mistake you made was when you compared the thickness of the Ridge to the Parliament, the ridge was empty. Unlike the Ekster, the Ridge gets thicker as you load cards.
One thing I hate about Ekster is how shit it is for European customers. Charging half the price of the product is insanity. Especially since their HQ is Amsterdam based and that the wallet comes in a super small and light package.
DO N O T BUY EKSTER. Received "Parliment Wallet" last week, have been trying to return it since. Thats cap. I have Ekster and have been using it for years. It can fit a solid 5 to 6 cards in but it also has extra card slots on the inside of the wallet when you open the flap part.
If all your cards are embossed cards!! (Raised cards) then yes 8 is realistic!!! You will not get in 12 cards!! If they are all embossed! Know your facts before you open your mouth!

The closest wallet I’ve found that kind of has this functionality is a Focx wallet.

Do the cards scratch by being all together and is it easy to access every single 1 ?

Id just buy some low strength thread locker, or put 1 small wrap of teflon tape around threads.
I have both. Trust me when I say Ekster wallet is better than Ridge wallet.
Although I’m somewhat satisfied with my ridge wallet, I can say it is not worth the $100 price tag. If you don’t mind me asking, how well does the Ekster hold up over time?

The pinch method makes this argument invalid

I ordered the bright yellow one! How is it? Have you received it yet??
@LowkeyBreCollects not yet
Looking at it i like the parliament. Those flap pockes i can use to hold souvenirs i keep in my old wallet. And a money strap and a nifty card system
I've owned a ridge now for 5 years. I can vouch for the cash strap, and the rest of the straps on the wallet. I've carried anywhere between $5, and $2500, and it's held up great. Just ordered a Carl Fredericks. Exster is good too. Like traditional wallets with some modernization .

I think nothing beats a magnetic money clip wallet. Room for 5 cards and has a see through ID slot on the back and has no problem holding $300 in 20s
Parliament seems like a great one to get into minimalism one wallet at a time. Thank you for this well made comparison.
Glad it was helpful!
The only thing I don’t like about my ekster wallet is the AirTag clip moves around a lot and it’s really annoying. When I’m putting it in my back pocket because it slides up I have to push it back down.
I remember watching your videos a few years ago and WOW did the quality improve by so much! Keep up the good work man!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Comparing Ridge to Ekster is like conparing soda to juice. They're both good for different reasons. Ridge should be be compared to Rossm and Ekster should be conpared to Code 118.
I have two videos that talk about this exact thing.
I have the parliament wallet. The tracker card is supposed to go in the slot on the back of the wallet, not inside.
So I have no issues with the cash falling off the money clip. It's so tight I'm having a hard time taking the cash off.
I like my Ekster wallets only negative usually a little over a yr the button mechanism will break
But the plastic plunger breaks honestly on the Ekster. Im currently with a Ridge because of that
Eksters biggest flaw is metal/titanium cards tend to slip out when you turn the wallet upside down, which is how some ppl will place it in their pocket. Try it!
I'm definetly a parlament guy! Thanks for this excellent review!
Thanks for watching!

Ekster for elegance.
Ridge for minimalism.
i have had my ridge for 6 years or so and the elastic is perfectly strong still
Loved the ridge and carried it for a long time but it has wrecked card after card....
great review, and I like your background music.
I want the Ekster Parliament Wallet. That is a nice wallet. Can it fit cash inside it? I'm very fussy when it comes to adding cash inside a minimilist wallet.
Yes it does! The Parlaiment has the cash strap, and it also has a little pocket on the inside if you want to put cash there.
Can an Eckster tracking card go in any wallet from any company? Can it be purchased solo?
Yeah it can
I just hate the idea of having cash out side of the wall it where people can see that I carry cash.
ridge has a money tray option. You can put it inside there.
Not a fan of ridge, good size but access is a pain. Mechanical wallets are far better.
Ekster here all the way! 😊
Just bought both, good vid
The big drawback to the ridge is the price although the design's are nice and the wallets being compact personally for me I find it better to get something similar to the ridge but at a cheaper price but a ridge is a good choice if you can afford one the ekster wallet is a bit to much like a slightly simmer chunky wallet also at a to high a price point and thier are cheaper ones out their the way I see it is why carry a wallet that costs way more money than you carry around you might just end up being mugged for your wallet rather than the cash and in it
The cheapest ridge wallet is literally the same price as the ekster wallet
Actually the fan trigger look very damn cheapskate which is why i get the other 2 design the ridge and the one like a business card holder
Great video! What wallets do you use? I use Anson Calder and Bellroy
My go-to is a Saddleback Leather ID wallet. So far I can’t find a better one for me. 😊
As much as I hate the Ridge the Ridge wins in this battle. Ekster mechanicsm seem to wear out overtime. Secrid wallet is much better.
My ekster stopped working after year
Is the Ekster tracking card Android/Google tracking or just Apple?
It tracks through the Chipolo app, so I assume it’s good for both.
Guys does Ridge scratch or destroy cards can anyone that has one tell me before I purchase one??
i have NEVER had any money fall out the ridge wallet and you were putting the cards in the incorrect way. the thumb hole is on the bottom and you load the cards from the top
You COULD use the Ridge that way. But that doesn’t mean that one way is correct and the other is incorrect.
Came real close to getting an Ekster wallet but moving parts means eventual breakage, which is not something I want to risk with money and cards. Absolutely wrong!
My cards fall out of the Ekster just by turning it upside down. Hate that, deal breaker for me
not in my experience
@@BeastMadeReviews definitely my experience
@@BeastMadeReviews Any experience with the code 118?
@@Bronco2Cj Not yet! But it's on my list!
One mistake you made was when you compared the thickness of the Ridge to the Parliament, the ridge was empty.
Unlike the Ekster, the Ridge gets thicker as you load cards.
That’s true! Thanks for that!
I’ve tried both. I find the Easter superior on all levels.
Battle for 2nd place. Secrid is the #1 wallet. No discussion.
Ridge is a joke. 2 pieces of aluminum costed me 120 dollars. For me to get a specific card out I must take all the cards out.
One thing I hate about Ekster is how shit it is for European customers.
Charging half the price of the product is insanity. Especially since their HQ is Amsterdam based and that the wallet comes in a super small and light package.
Not a fan of sandwich style wallets. Ekster hands down.
I bought a Ridge wallet thinking it was Ekster. 😂 Such a fail
This video in a nutshell:
Both wallets have their pros and cons, I don’t think one is better than the other……. BUT Ekster is better😂
😂😂
I have used all kinda "minimalist wallets" but always end up going back to my good old 10 year old leather wallet.
Go buy a ridge wallet, you’re welcome.
70€?😂🤣 for that wallet? Crazy people are buying everything 😂
Seems like a fair price to me
DO N O T BUY EKSTER. Received "Parliment Wallet" last week, have been trying to return it since. "Return Portal" is a piece of garbage like the wallet that boasts "fits 1-12 cards" I could barely get 8 in. Had it engraved, cam BARELY SEE the engraving. Wow, what a surprise that the company is giving you a hard time returning a wallet that you had ENGRAVED... lmao
Thats cap. I have Ekster and have been using it for years. It can fit a solid 5 to 6 cards in but it also has extra card slots on the inside of the wallet when you open the flap part.
My Ekster wallet doesn't want to hold the cards anymore they just slide out 😢
If all your cards are embossed cards!! (Raised cards) then yes 8 is realistic!!! You will not get in 12 cards!! If they are all embossed! Know your facts before you open your mouth!
They're nice wallets but both are expensive
I’ll get me one
The ridge is made in USA top quality backed by a lifetime warranty. Esker is made in China CRAP.
No contest. Ridge is a dinosaur
Ridge is garbage. No comparison Ekster is king
And the cards just fall right out.Nope not using this Chinese crap
All fun and games until the Ekster trigger stops working and you can’t get your cards out. #Happened
