I actually like the varnish in the white pieces. It's an elegantly-aged finish. This set is gorgeous. Always happy to see one of your reviews pop up in my notifications ❤
One of the most important things to consider when buying a chess set is price. Which was mentioned. Also comparing the price to other similar pieces and the height.
Hi, I hope you see this. On the rooooks, the cuts are called either slits or slots. Think about a real castle before gunpowder. You want your archers to shoot at the enemy with minimal risk. The stone between the cuts is a very pretty word: crenellation, singular, crenellations plural. Please start using this nice word. Now, I want to give this same gift to Al Su. Do the two of you talk? I may get back to you. Ted
The Lessing pattern is nice. I like that set. And that Ebony looks fantastic. The white pieces not so much. I will opt for natural box wood on my order. I am glad you did a review of the chess set. This set is next on my list. As I just received my 1950s Latvian set.
I would say the 1950s Latvian chess set is a beautiful set. But the design is my least favorite chess set to play a actual game of chess. I also just received the 1960 Tal chess set. And that chess set is amazing looking, and as a playing chess set. @@Dario19503
I purchased the natural boxwood and ebony version of this same RCM Lessing set a little over 6 months ago. Beautiful and classic Staunton design. The design seems very similar to the Fischer-Spassky replica sets out there, but I think the knights and king are a little better. I can't help but wonder if the 1972 Fischer-Spassky was played either with a Lessing Staunton set or with a slightly modified version. On my set, I do wish there was a little more grain in the ebony pieces. At any rate, I enjoy these videos, and this is certainly one or my favorite sets!
Hey, I appreciate these videos quite a bit! Did you consider reviewing their American Staunton pieces? It looks similar to Sinquefield Cup pieces with the knight being the biggest difference between these two sets. Would be lovely to see that American Staunton set reviewed by you (for example boxwood-ebony variant) if you ever get hold of them! That being said, RCM's naming of their sets is different compared to other stores. That American Staunton set they sell is actually named Haunting in other stores, while the actual American Staunton is the set you can see in Supreme Tournament 55 piece set from Millennium. In any case, it would be lovely to see a review of RCM's American Staunton pieces here, if you ever happen to get them. The boxwood-ebony variant is classy. Thanks for taking your time to read my comment and cheers!
Thanks for the inquiry. I will put American Staunton on my list, before that I have several sets more sets I would like to purchase. Stay tuned for more!
@@RandomChessTalk I will definitely stay tuned! Thank you for these videos and I hope you enjoy your sets and your shopping experiences with Royal Chess Mall. They seem like a trustworthy store.

The white pieces look like sheesham (golden rosewood) to me. I also prefer the natural boxwood for the white pieces. How do you like your Latvian set?

Thanks for the contribution in the comments section. This time I decided to go with antique varnish to get something a little different.

Good quality looking pieces. The colour of the white pieces is not to my taste though. I would prefer the traditional boxwood colour.
Thanks for the comment. No worries you can get this pieces also in natural boxwood.
The italian stallion its my no1 chess set ❤
very good
Ebony pieces are beautiful. The varnish on the boxwood not my taste.
Thanks for the comment. Luckily, there is also a regular boxwood version for everyone's taste :)
Как купить такие шахматы
Over priced
Could definitely save without the board and box. The pieces are excellent for the price.
