Watching the unboxing of a chess set should be the most boring video on TH-cam, but it wasn’t. I locked in and watched every second, and I felt it move. That set should be good enough to get you through your entire life.

10:38 the way that you used the green felt is genius! I have two of these boxes and never even knew they had these little green pillows on the bottom. For pieces that can't stand straight due to height, I'll be doing this same thing! Cant preven't pieces from laying on top of each other but at least it seperates the main pieces from the pawns :)
I saw this method of storing the pieces on another video so I cannot take the credit :) It definitely works, though! Glad I could help :) I have another set on the way with an even nicer storage box... stay tuned!

It is marvellous an original The House of Stauton chess. I am very happy because yesterday I bought a second hand used Stauton's style chess game probable made here in my country for more less 13 u$s and look, weight and texture is very good. Of course nothing like the Original The House of Stauton but I am very impressed for this at the video and at the same time very happy for my cheap imitation Stauton is it done very good too (and satisfied for the low cost). I enjoy the video thank you for showing an original House of Stauton chess.

Very nice set. Just want to point out that HoS set a new standard and now virtually all chess sets come with 2 Queens.
Very elegant and well-made set. Too good for me though (a mid 1400's grunt) If I ever make 2000, I might just buy one of these.

If you plan on leaving this out all the time like I do, not sure if you saw my review on this before you bought it, but in my description I say to make sure you remove those felt tips on the bottom. If you leave it out with the pieces on there it will cause the board to warp, I hate removing those pieces but my board warped and never heard back from the house of Staunton on a replacement so they will not do anything about it.

I'm an idiot! I actually have the same box (which came half-priced as part of a combo), but never realized there was a removable .5" cushion on the bottom, and was bitching about having to lay my Fischer-Spassky 3.75" kings on their sides. Also, great idea to keep the pawns on top! You could put some black cotton batting in there to protect everything further.

What do I have to pay attention to so that the wooden board doesn't bend?
me gusta mucho el diseño del alfil. no tan bocones como otros alfiles y cabeza pequeña.
With a 450 dollar chess pieces set a rather prefer a box in which all the pieces have their own place in the box...just like the way they you the pieces. In a normal box the more vunuarable pieces can receive little dents..
Shame about the bishops' mitres in an otherwise very fine set. The simple slit saves on manufacturing costs for sure but lacks the artful, deep cleft of Cooke's original and beautiful Staunton design which more accurately depicts a bishop's mitre.
