    Hi Chris, I have a question so at 5:37 you said that it tells information from your watch. Does it connect to your watch also? And which model of watch are you using? Thank you. Very nice review and congrats on your PB🎉

      @@Thatgoodolddays hi there, I have a Garmin Fenix 6 but I suspect all Garmin's would work in the same way. The watch connects to the Garmin Connect app on my phone and the headphones connect to the phone. Garmin Connect vocally provides information after each km or mile which is played through the headphones.

    I’ve never used Shokz but it sounds like they’re worth looking into! I’d be more concerned that my phone would die or battery would drain from use

    • @HereWeAreRunning
      @HereWeAreRunning  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't think you need to worry too much about that. Screen usage is the main thing that'll run down the phone battery. Latest Bluetooth version are light on battery usage. So if your phone is just playing music or a podcast it should last a long time. The headphones will last 10 hours of listening time.

    I agree with you Chris - I regret not wearing mine on Sunday especially when I hit the later miles :( Would you say it is worth upgrading from aeropex?

    • @HereWeAreRunning
      @HereWeAreRunning  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally, if you are happy with the Aeropex, I'd only upgrade if you just want the best bone conduction headphones that money can buy, or if the improved battery life is really important to you.

  • @samdurrant120

    I've still got the Titaniums, but they seem to do the job no issue... do you think it's worth the upgrade? :)

    • @HereWeAreRunning
      @HereWeAreRunning  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had the Titaniums for several years but upgrading to either the OpenRun or OpenRun Pro, I definitely noticed the improved sound quality and also a big improvement on fit and comfort.

    • @user-gp1bt4vm3r
      @user-gp1bt4vm3r 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the Titanium, the Aeropex, and the Openrun Pro. If you're coming straight from the Titanium, without question, it's well worth the upgrade. If you have the Aeropex, that's a different story. While, there is a noticeable difference between Aeropex and the Pro's in sound quality, it's not to a really big extent. But from Titanium's to the Pro's, BIG difference in sound, and especially, comfort.

    I don't agree with you guys -- I think running with headphones and music "dilutes" the focus on the marathon itself, thus "weakens" the entire race experience. I run my marathons with no music -- only listening to the spectator cheers or the birds or other sounds.

    • @TheBramptonValleyRunner
      @TheBramptonValleyRunner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can take it or leave it these days, I remember years ago if I didn’t have music or a podcast to listen to on a run it would bother me, now I don’t care either way, it’s def good in races to go without and soak up the atmosphere 👍🏻

      I'd definitely agree if I was using the podcast or music to block out the surrounding sounds but with bone conduction headphones I hear everything going on around me, all the crowds cheering but also I can listen to something (podcast/music) which for me, helps to get me through ghe tougher sections of the race.
      But it's a personal choice and not everyone's thing, although does seem to be becoming more popular.

      @cathynewyork7918 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HereWeAreRunning That's great if you enjoy it, Chris, and I did watch your video about the headphones ... it's just NOT for me. I run the New York City Marathon and it is so special I don't want to miss any of it by being "distracted" with music, and I also go north to run trails, and want to hear the birds and flowing creeks.

  • @andrewjackson5868

    Where was the podcast/music coming from? Wasn’t it a bit of a faff to start/stop/change what was playing mid race?

      I use Spotify on my phone. The phone was in a running belt, on my front, so easy to take out and quickly put the podcast/music on, then slip the phone back in.

    • @HereWeAreRunning
      @HereWeAreRunning  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The battery on the OpenRun and OpenRun Pro is much improved. Ten hours of listening time on the OpenRun Pro with only 1 hour to fully charge it is pretty good. Air Pod Pro's definitely have better sound quality but depends whether you turn transparency mode on and for transparency mode still isn't as safe as having the ear canals open.

    • @BradleySingerRuns
      @BradleySingerRuns 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HereWeAreRunning i constantly have them on transparency mode when i am out running. this is the only reason why i went for the Pros and not the other version of the Air pods.
