The 92X Centurion ships with the steel guide rod. I bought the G series Centurion on GunBroker for 472, and the the trigger job in a bag for 165. I am totally happy with the package.
I have both of these guns…the 92X out of the box is a great gun out of the box!! I added a front night sight, skeletonized hammer and a G- conversion de cocker and it’s right there with the LTT minus the slightly better trigger on the LTT. My 92X does have front cocking serrations and is also RDO ready. I will carry the much less expensive 92X and keep my LTT safely stored…..
great video. i just wish the Langdon LTT came with 3- 17 round magazines and a 3 slot picatinny rail... and i wish the 92X came with night sights like the M9A3... but i guess we can’t have it all. lol
So you basically want a M9A3 with the LTT goodness. I know your comment was 4 years ago. But if you go on LTT website they have a lot of configurations that fit what you're looking for.
The best way to press check a 92 with slide mounted decocker is to take your index finger and middle finger, place them on the levers while placing your thumb on the back of the tang and squeeze. It should look like you're using a syringe. This keeps you from going too far with the slide. When you let off either keep the gun on safe or disengage it. For the decock only model keep holding down the levers until the slide is in battery. This works with pretty much any slide mounted safety/decocker pistol as well.
I have the 92X Centurion G model. It is all metal parts except the grips. Has the best stock Beretta trigger by far that I've felt (don't know about the M9A3 and 92X Performance). The only changes I may make are night sights and an Elite hammer.
I've owned various Beretta 92 variants for 40 years now. My last one was an Inox Compact. A student shot it and fell in love, so I sold it to him This left me with no "Pizza Gun" (my pet name for Berettas) in my collection, and we can't have that, can we? Just about the time we started to hear about the 92-X, one of my law enforcement dealers put 92-X's on sale, with a particularly good price on the 92-X Compact. The non-railed version was under $500 USD including shipping. Since I have other guns with rails, I took a chance and bought one. This is a very impressive pistol and my favorite Beretta of the two dozen 92's I have owned. The gun came right out of the box with everything I wanted in a carry gun. Oddly enough, while I had read about the plastic guide rod, mine came with a blackened steel rod, confirmed with a magnet, and a sub eight pound DA pull coupled with a four pound single action trigger. Perfect. I still go back and forth on which grip I like better of the two supplied. I have been running the more traditional curved grip, and like you, love the texture. I was a Colt Commander guy for years, and love the look and feel of a full length grip with a slightly shortened barrel, but never cared for the look of the muzzle extension of the full sized Beretta 92 barrel. I had a bunch of the newer 17 round full size magazines, and installed one in the gun with an X-grip adapter. This takes on the look and feel of the old Centurion, which I loved, so that is how I carry it. Since I teach handgun classes and didn't have a DA gun with a safety to demonstrate, I passed on the de-cocker only conversion for now and left it stock. My 92-X Compact is unquestionably the nicest Beretta I've ever owned. I'd love to see the same gun come out in the Inox finish!
Nice comparison. A few things to add. I have heard Langdon agree that stainless barrels are generally more accurate. In a pistol with a 4-5" barrel this difference in accuracy is not really measurable. Looks and corrosion resistance are the real differences. For the 92X, while you do have choices to go straight vs bobtail grip, there are practically zero options for the wrap-around bobtail grip. No thin grips, no palm swell grips. Just rubber of plastic Hogue/Beretta grips. If you like the straight 1911 grip then you have plenty of options. If you do not, then you are limited and are better off with the LTT, or other 92 variant. Though, it sounds like some grip manufacturers are finally going to be making more options for the vertec/straight grip. Who knows when those will be available.
TBH, if I knew the X series was coming out, I would’ve never bought the LTT. Beretta fans should thank Langdon for coming out with the LTT because IMO this caused Beretta to re-evaluate the 92 series and upgrade the design. I have the X Compact G model on order. Great review!
13:50 - 14:00 just enjoying that grip haha. I absolutely love this platform and I think the 92x centurion is going to be my first Handgun. Henry model X in .357 will be my first long gun I think as well😁
The barrel looks stainless but it’s NP3 coated which is a nickel Teflon coating that adds lubricity and protection. You can actually get an upgraded NP3 version from the one you have.
Beretta must have been listening they added front serrations to 92x at least on my mine 2022 model . Short reset trigger and same old sights . I must change front sight, difficult for me to see , any suggestions? ( no fiber optic’s not a fan ) thanks K
As a Canadian I to feel your pain, check out Aztec armoury, A great company that’s an export/importer along the lines of irunguns. They sell the LTT drop in trigger kit and man what a difference.
Thank God I watched this video till the end! I was struggling SUPER hard with this very decision and my biggest beef with the 92 series has always been that big ass grip. I absolutely adore the look of the LTT (think Samurai Edge) I believe the X is gonna be the best fit.
I have been thinking the same thing. I want the LTT because it looks more like the Samurai Edge. I like the price and grips better on the 92X. I'm not a big fan of the round trigger guard look.
5:48 I'm gonna disagree on this one. For starters, you should be using the slide release. Secondly, if you just grip the slide correctly if you do slingshot the slide, you should be pushing kinda-sorta up but not really (ie; not downward, like you press the decocker). I have never been concerned about accidentally turning on the decocker on my 92X Centurion.
Well you may have to look but theyre out there and the prices are reasonable. But my choice for a 92 compact would be the M9A1 Inox. The two new 92X compacts are also cool. One of them has a smooth front dustcover.
Thanks, this helped me decide. I held both and pulled trigger on both. Took the 92x home. it just felt better. I would like to improve the trigger reset. I am use to the SRT trigger on SIGs. Any recommendations?
If you haven't done anything yet, you can buy a trigger job kit from Beretta or Langdon. Drop in parts and they work well. Combining the Beretta kit with a Langdon trigger bar give you a great trigger pull and very short reset, like a Sig SRT.
@@mrweeby1961 thanks, I dropped in the trigger bar and it made a huge difference. May add other stuff later but ATM I'm happy with the reset. The trigger weight is fine for me and really see no need to lighten it. Reset is VERY short now and was a good investment for around $70 shipped even though I think that's a bit high for a single part.
Why don't the LTT guns come to Canada with the LTT trigger work? Would that be the same for the Wilson Combat 92G guns? We can get the WC Centurion. Can we not buy the LTT trigger kit and have it installed? Any one have this done? I'm not sold on the LTT guns. Looks mostly cosmetic with superficaial upgraded parts. e.g. trigger kit. Only thing I have anything too say is the accidental safety engagement is because you're applying downward pressure when cocking, that's nothing some training can fix.
I never had that issue. I used the 92FS for a while. Use the G model now. I was shown a way of gripping the slide with my thumb and index finger on the levers with some upward pressure. I don't do the overhand slide rack. I use the release lever or slingshot technique. Overhand on a Glock or 1911 with Novak sights is harmless enough. But on a Beretta not going to feel good. Overhand always felt like I had less control to. I've heard using the lever is fine motor skill and that's why it's bad. But so is the trigger and the magazine release. I did have to learn to hit the lever with my support hand after inserting a magazine. I had some super impressive reload times until I realized I hit the lever too soon a couple of times.
Man love your beretta videos i think i want one of these now im a longntime glock shooter and i want to learn da sa a bit. Trying to figure out which berretta i should buy m9a3? 92x full size centurian compact? Lttt version?
Regarding the elite hammer, there is a video from Mosin virus where he explains his rationale for using it, for what I understand it allows you to have more reliable primer strikes with a lighter mainspring because the lighter mainspring doesn’t have to push a heavier hammer, so the elite hammer is moving faster but the benefit is reliable primer hits not necessarily lock time, his vid does a way better job, I think it is called reducing pull weight in a 92
There is no point to get the ltt from Beretta. Buying strait from Langdon tactical gets you the trigger job for the same price. Plus you have someone going through the gun that is going to know if anything is wrong with it before it goes to you.
I dont recommend the FS version unless you plan on carrying it on safe and disengaging it on the draw. Or if it is not a gun you're going to use for anything serious. One tip on taking the safety off. Use the exact same motion you use with a 1911. There are springs and detents in that safety assembly and very little pressure is needed to disengage it. Unlike a S&W 3rd generation or the Baby Eagle.
Yep. Works fine. The 92A1 and the 96A1 are the two models that differ in dimensions to the rest of the 92 line. If you get a brigadier slide make sure you also get the brigadier slide release lever. Thay slide is slightly wider and the standard slide stop won't lift or otherwise function. Found that one out the hard way.
Question. Would you recommend a full size, centurion, or Compact 92X for a first handgun? Also, How can you afford not only an LTT tactical, M9A3, and 92X?
I got the 92x full size as my first full size handgun and absolutely love the damn thing. I've shot lots of other handguns but it's the only one that I really love. The only difference between centurion and full size is price and a metal guide rod and mag release. You can get the 92x full size and replace those two parts and save about 90 bucks though.
beretta does not need front cocking cerrations. it has the slide shape to grab onto. beretta solved that front cocking issue back in 75 decades before it was even a thing.
Berett 92x performance? You said you buy all the berettas so what about the performance? Will you be picking one up? I know there quite expensive here in Canada at $2k
I have the 92X Centurion G model and it came with a steel guide rod. Don’t know if the size and/or model had anything to do with that or just got lucky
One of these will be my next gun. 92X makes more sense for me but I just can't get the LTT out of my head. I hate that in the back of my mind I would feel like I settled for the less expensive model.
T J I would never think that! They’re both amazing guns and in reality one isn’t way better than the other. Just comes down to what you can afford and what you’re doing with it
I have this with the np3 coating and night sights. Without the coating it's one hell of a deal. $850, pretty much the same price as the normal centurion but with an amazing trigger.
@@vkyle91x yah I agree sorry hard to be positive when half of the guns in my safe became prohibited over night so unfair I just bought a typhoon f12 only fired 8 rounds through it !!!!!

Red Star I did end up picking on up, posted the review of it vs the standard 92X
What is your SA pull weight ?
What number and size of magazines come with each?
have you tried any of the wood grips Beretta offers?
Look nice not functional at all
@@vkyle91x gotcha, even the ones with the checkering would you say? I love the look but I'm not sure its worth it.
@@DirtyNate98 tried a few they weren’t great in my opinion
@@vkyle91x thanks for your advice👍
I have the 92X Centurion G model and it came with a steel guide rod. Don’t know if the size and/or model had anything to do with that or just got lucky
Not luck indeed.... plastic guide road are available only for full size models .
I just bought the 92x brand new and mines came with decocker only so that's a good thing right?
Most people would say yes its a good thing, but it really just depends on your personal preference.
Some rather have the safety decocker but it is ready up to you, and your taste!
Great video, good job!
what you guys save in health insurance over the U.S. You could buy 10 Berettas...
Can you compare the ltt and 92x vs the m9a3 im thinking of getting my first beretta not my first pistol.
boomee78 biggest difference is sight and grips. Fiber optic vs night sight.
Great overview.
Can you tell me where you got the base plates??
Stoeger canada
Are the grips on the Beretta 92X rubber or plastic?
Simnikiwe Galeni plastic
Can anyone tell me what the Centurion designation means?
Full-size grip compact size slide
@@vkyle91x Thank you!
Does anyone know what holster will fit a full-size 92x??
Nice video! 👍
You received no safety gigs from tactical youtuber about flagging your hand in the first couple of minutes of the your video. Must be a record.
One of these will be my next gun. 92X makes more sense for me but I just can't get the LTT out of my head. I hate that in the back of my mind I would feel like I settled for the less expensive model.
T J I would never think that! They’re both amazing guns and in reality one isn’t way better than the other. Just comes down to what you can afford and what you’re doing with it
Great video comparison!
Man I need that LTT!
LTT offers a 92x centurion w/trigger job just as an fyi
I have this with the np3 coating and night sights. Without the coating it's one hell of a deal. $850, pretty much the same price as the normal centurion but with an amazing trigger.
I wish the barrel was black I think the 2 tone looks silly!!!🤯🔫🃏
Want to sell your safety de-cocker?
Joseph Peterka nah I keep it all
Which one do you like better?
How's the accuracy compare between both guns? Some people say the 92x shoots slightly off?
They're both bang on for me
I just got the LTT for $989, just FYI
Florida Man I’m in Canada.
@@vkyle91x Ah, I'm sorry brother.
Won't matter they will be prohibited soon enough
Well with thinking like that they sure will be! Stay positive Kelly the CCFR and many organizations are fighting hard for us right now
@@vkyle91x yah I agree sorry hard to be positive when half of the guns in my safe became prohibited over night so unfair I just bought a typhoon f12 only fired 8 rounds through it !!!!!
Kelly Schafer I’m that that boat as well it sucks, but key to remember is 2 years is a long time and a lot can change. The fight ain’t lost till its lost!
Either way, mine was lost in an unfortunate boating accident.
Now, heck firearms are flying off the shelf like crazy. Even die hard liberals are arming up.
you have a slide release for a reason why the fuck would anyone overhand on a reload?
