I know this is an old video talking about the 92X. One very important aspect of the Beretta 92X. It's a beautiful gun! Having a fast car is great but having a fast car that looks fantastic is even better. My two cents.

The 92x Performance is to the all other Beretta 92s what the CZ Shadow is to all other CZ 75 variants. They're not designed for defensive use, but are tuned to go fast for competition. The sights are an indication that the gun is designed for practical shooting: the fiber optic front (which sport shooters replace regularly for max brightness) / black out rear is the default sights set-up of non-optic practical shooting guns because front sight focus is a must for taking down plates at speed. The safety is another indicator that the gun is designed for competitive shooting: production division shooters hammer down manually at the start so a decocker is useless; besides, a decocker mechanism is detrimental to a crisp, short, and light trigger pull. The muzzle is target crowned to help shooters put 2 shots (esentially, a group) in the A-zone at distance. Just like the Shadow 2, the 92x Performance is steel-framed and heavy to soak up recoil for fast follow-up shots (up to 9 shots per port against the clock in IPSC) and the barrel is just under the 127mm IPSC production division barrel length limit. Lastly, the 92x Performance comes with the Xtreme-S trigger which by Beretta's own disclaimer is for sports use only.
It's like the Type R of Honda Civics, or the Modificata variant of the Ferrari 488. They're not daily drivers, but track day toys. #factoryracer #raceversion

Your point near the end about the muzzle flip being low and the felt recoil being higher is exactly why I love this piece.

I very foolishly traded my CZ Shadow 2 for a Beretta 92FS Brigadier. Here in Australia you can't 'try out' guns or rent them, so you take your chances. I wanted something lighter than the CZ. Big mistake! I have now traded the 92FS for the 92 X Performance (because I still own 6 Beretta compatible magazines). I've yet to try it out, but am hoping for the best. Last thing... If you think guns are expensive in Canada.... The Beretta here costs around $3,500- $4,000! Thanks for a great video. Interesting!

As a 1911 shooter, who also owns an old 92 (no letter) with the safety where it is like the performance, along with a 92SB and M9, have shot a performance, and it is on the list of things I'll be buying. The biggest difference between the performance for me and the other 92's I have shot is the trigger. It's not a 1911 trigger, but better than any other 92 I've shot.

I shot 124 grain and 147 grain for my 92x performance and definitely 147 grain had a whole lot less recoil and made it easy to keep it the gun shooting flat. Also I updated mine with better grips from Toni systems and added a better match hammer that give you a shorter trigger pull by 2mm!

It has more felt recoil I think due the fact that it is rearward recoil rather than muzzle flip. I own the perf and I think your video is fairly good description of it. I bought it mainly because the safety was different.

My standard 92X came with serrations on the front and rear of the slide. Also came with spots to affix dot sights. Not sure what the difference is but it’s the one without the de-cocker safety and just the de-cocker. I bought it new so it wasn’t modified before I bought it.

I waited 14 months for my Performance to arrive here in Australia. I need to shoot out to 50 meters so needed a red dot mount,. Found one at Toni Systems code OPXB92XA Type A which suits up to 8 different red dots. I use a delta Point Pro. They have a type B also that suits another variety of red dots. I think the wait was worth it. Yes it is a heavy platform, but has a short reset. with the new Extreme-S trigger. I found trying to find a red dot mount difficult and ended up paying a small fortune to get one in from Italy. I have a spare red dot mount of the same type I would be happy to let go to someone who has a performance if they can't find one and at what I paid for it plus postage to wherever you are, preferably Oz.
It's Black Anodised Aluminium from what I can tell. Dovetail is CNC'd to fit the LPA slot on the Performance. Getting the rear LPA sigh of is hard without the right tools. Beretta press fit all their sights according to Beretta, so if you don't the right sight pusher you may need to have a a smith install it. I rang Beretta and they confirmed sights goes out from right to left and in from left to right both front and rear. Well that's what I am advised. Currently the Performance goes for approx $2500 in Australia.
    Cheers

Just found your channel and I’m enjoying the beretta content. Have a bizarre question: I’m a competitive shooter and like you need aggressive grip texturing. The 92X grips...can that plastic grip be stippled further like you would a polymer pistol or is the material way different. Obviously I haven’t held the 92x so I’m uncertain.. Thanks

    Ciao, complimenti!
    Grazie!

@@maddog8148 I don’t think as a new shooter I would push you towards it. It’s mainly designed for competitive shooters but that being said it’s your money so you spoil yourself should you feel the need

@@vkyle91x my father in law has the Beretta 92 A1. I shot it and I like it a lot. I just like the heavy weight of it on control. I am in the market for two guns. One gun as a pure security for my home and the other as like to cherish if that makes sense. So that’s why I’m looking at the 92x performance. It’s just a really beautiful gun. Your thoughts?

@@maddog8148 yeah that makes sense, I wouldn’t use the Performance for home defence but as something to cherish definitely
