    Could I toss a 92 series 4.9 inch barrel into this gun ? I prefer the longer barrel of the old ones and im looking to get a stainless steel barrel for the 2-tone look. do you know if there is compatibility issues going from this barrel to a longer older barrel ?

    Dude you don’t put any oil in the mag well, the recoil spring assembly and you never put oil on the striker face. The oil just attracts all kinds of debris and will gum up the action. Possibly to the point that the gun won’t function over time. Stop it. Oil only goes in the specific areas the manufacturer stipulates. No mfg says to oils this parts. None.

    • @misaelnavarro2939

      I ain't no expert but on the manual it says to lightly oil the spring.

    Great video, but you generally don’t want oil in the magwell (for the same reason you don’t want it in your firing pin channel). It will attract dirt and grit into the magwell.

    Be careful you don’t knock the trigger spring out while wiping or scrubbing inside the frame. My spring came out and I didn’t realize it and took an hour to find it - it somehow ended up under my couch. What a pain

    Once I started using the specific caliber or gauge bore snakes, I decided I would never go back to the cleaning rods and patches, especially having to take them off each time to run them through the barrel again in the same direction. It really is convenience for my trap shotgun, I clean the barrel right after shooting onsite and spray some Rem oil in certain areas of the gun and it is ready for the next shoot. For a more thorough cleaning I occasionally will use Birchwood Casey gun scrubber because it doesn't attract dirt and also Hoppe's #9 gun solvent for the barrel (just be sure to wipe it out with several patches and follow up with oil, because it can be caustic).

    Being raised by an OCD gun owner, I feel this video is rushed and slightly half-assed. Is this video absolutely accurate as to how I should properly clean and lubricate this Beretta?

  • @jessiepinkman7736
    @jessiepinkman7736 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    A dental pick, GAH... Is it safe? (lol from a movie) I just tap out the pin every 1000 rounds to clean the extractor. I don't stake! I use loctite blue on the pin head, only, and it has not worked out on me yet... You can hose it out with brake cleaner, the area under the extractor that is, and a wee scrub and hose again, voila! Clean.

    Has anyone had problems with magazine Lock-Up? My 92x came with two 10 rounders and the baseplates had to be filed down before they lock-in, otherwise I could just pull them out without the mag release.

    Ciao, complimenti!
    Due domande...
    1) Perché su questo modello non si è adottata la soluzione come nella 98A1 , con all'interno del fusto, accanto al chiavistello di smontaggio, un ammortizzatore in metallo che attutisce l'impatto del carrello-otturatore contro il fusto in fase di sparo, distribuendo le sollecitazioni subite a vantaggio di una maggiore durata dell'arma?
    2) Perché negli States si compra quasi a metà prezzo (circa 650 dollari) rispetto al listino a noi rivolto?
    Grazie!

    I’m a newer gun owner so this cleaning oil you used, is it better then using a cleaning Solvent? Shot 100 rounds through my first gun and couldn’t believe how dirty it was.

    • @GearKnowHow
      @GearKnowHow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      IMO solvent is only needed if it's really dirty as the CLP is an all in one cleaner so it handles the grime and lubricates at the same time. Early in my shooting career I would always use solvent and then CLP as a two step system, but it's usually not needed.

    You don't want to put any type of oil or lubricant inside the magazine well and also by the firing pin. Oil will attract dirt and grind. By doing what he did, you could be setting yourself up for a mechanical malfunction in the worst time possible.
