Haha, sorry for being absent for a while! I just spent a full winter season snowboarding in the French Alps, which always has been a dream of mine! But now winter is over, so I'll have time again to create new tutorials! Thanks for sticking around, buddy! 🤘🏽
I think 15 is the biggest game changer for me! Glad you got something out of it. Yea somehow I still feel that I have to explain quickly for retention, but I will try to slow down in future videos!
This guy really knows what he's talking about. The problem is that he talks too fast, and then adds insult to injury by doing some really annoying edits to speed things up. I don't know what the rush is. People's attention span? But instead of holding my attention, he lost it. Style is one thing, but this is too hard to watch. I'm not commenting to troll. I think Mr. Iamrensi needs to hear this.
Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it! Honestly I always thought I was optimizing for retention by doing this fast editing, but I figured I was only making it harder for viewers to actually consume the content.. The editing style I adopted was for entertainment, not for educational channels like mine.. Big mistake I’ve been making for a long time. So I will make sure to slow down and actually take the time to go over things! Hope you stick around! 🙌
@@IAMRENSI Thank you for your response. In full disclosure, I'm 71 (and a filmmaker, and Photoshop user since 1995) and have been increasingly dismayed by the love of jumpcuts by a new generation of video artists. It has its use, but from my perspective too much of it just makes a person.....jumpy. At least it does for me. Invariably now, if I find a tutorial that is more about the style of the video rather than "boring" methodical instruction, I just stop watching and search for another one on the topic. (I have to laugh at my own criticism though. Just the opposite of you is James Ritson from Affinity. He is so slow sometimes that I have to click ahead on the timeline!) But I'll take you up on your invitation and look around at your other videos. I am very impressed at your breadth of knowledge of Affinity. You're absolutely right about one thing. Affinity has so many choices in it that it can be overwhelming. I keep a copy of Photoshop CS2 on an old computer and more often than not, find myself working much faster with it. I recently had a lot of rote, repetitive work to do in Affinity (which I installed on a new Powerbook) and found myself constantly fighting with it when tool settings (such as tolerance levels or "Add" versus "New") suddenly changed or reverted to a default position.
Thanks Trent! I’ve seen your channel pop up everywhere in my feed. Great content. Perhaps we could find a fun way to collab in the near future, if you’re keen! 🙌
Hi there! So how much does it cost to purchase the whole catalog of IAMRENSI brushes, and where can I find them? I've already download the free samples but there's no link or any clue to the entire package. Cheers!
They’re available to all members of my free Affinity Photo Creatives community! Here’s the link: www.skool.com/affinityphotocreatives/classroom/473bdfc5 Sign up and then click the link again (it’s free). Or go to the classroom and you’ll find The Ultimate Brush Bundle there 🙌
Great video and thank you! I wish I watched last night before making a thumbnail. I almost smashed my head through the monitor in frustration 😂 Upside is, now I know.
Currently, my artworks aren't available online. However if you are interested or want to get in touch with me feel free to send me an email at rens(at)iamrensi(dot)com!

no offence, but it is 10 yrs behind photoshop.
Haven’t used much of Affinity lately? But if you need AI then support Adobe, they like your AI work!
@@PhiddyPford clearly your luck knowledge about adobe is obvious.

@@IAMRENSI The brushes are great, except I hate all lens flare effects from anybody anywhere!
