- We think the S in Corolla S stands for "Spice." It's got all the familiar Corolla virtues, but with a little extra kick.

Just got mine yesterday. I love it. Great car and I couldn't have asked for a better deal.
This is going to be my next car!
Awesome! Congrats on your new car!
Got mine yesterday! Even though this car was not my first choice, I am happy with it. :)
Awesome -- congrats on your new car!
I have a 2010 which is essentially the same car minus some minor body styling differences. I love it! I am 6'4 265lbs and I fit just fine, it could use more leg room, but if I take off my shoes it's just fine for those long drives. If I could go back I probably would have gotten something different ONLY because of my height. But when you drive something for a few minutes and only sit in it a few more, it's hard to tell that it's not quite as big on legroom as you initially think it is.
Im 6"1 230 and I fit perfect in my rolla, best car ive ever had
Several people have suggested the XRS here and on our Totally Tested video of the Corolla. However, the Toyota.com website lists only L, LE and S models.
Corollas don't get stolen like civics do. I saved a bunch on insurance by buying a corolla over a civic
I have the corolla s 2011 1.8 automatic and my opinion is not bad now i wanna another one but with manual speed i love my corolla...
To sum it all up, the Corolla is good if you want a reliable and comfortable ride that has a softer suspension than some of its competitors.
I'm maybe a bit late but I don't think you're getting the point. The point is that you get ALL of those thing for around 18k OTD. You do not need to compromise, you can have it all.
i believe 09 is the last year the xrs model was made but i could be mistaken
The XRS I believe has the 2.4 4 cylinder which is bigger than the 1.8 liter you get in the S model. But I don't know if they make that one anymore......??
I'm 6' 3 and looking for a new car but I dont wanna pay crazy gas prices for a truck or suv. You look pretty tall. How is the leg and head room and how easy is it to get in and out of the car.
I agree I test drove both and the Elantra was VERY loud and just out of touch with the controls and ride quality.
The only XRS that's worth the money is the 9th generation which has a 6 speed and a Yamaha 2zz VVTL-i motor which comes in the lotus elise, exige, and celica GTS.
Which is better the XRS / S ?
i love american toyotas.
we are from russia but now we live in germany, and we own an toyota avensis
this is so bad that camry and corolla will be not sold here
i understand, it wont be popular here because of VW, beause germans didnt understand which cars are good
Thanks for this video!
I want this to be my first car.... i just need to get my License first :D
lol as much as I HATE this corolla, its not bad looking in this blue S model and it gets bonus points for being a manual and having a sunroof haha
So is this a 2011 or 2012? The dude said 2011
my 2010 corolla get 42 mpg on the highway
you would "consider this corolla in a heartbeat"? are you sure you are ready for that?
he said 2011.
XRS
just get the xrs
True, but pretty much everything is better in this class
Mine is all plastic -.-
2011*
It's OK looking, but undeniably bland compared to the competition. The fuel economy is subpar. I honestly don't care if the technology in the car is terribly outdated if it's RELIABLE. Lower the price, improve the fuel economy by at least 3 MPG, and I'd consider this Corolla in a heartbeat.
Boredom comes standard on all models. Civic is much better and is just as or even more reliable.
Noisy, plasticky, slow and outdated in every aspect. They could have added things like a smoother engine and 6 speed auto along with better interior materials and still keep the reliability factor.
Those are pretty poor justifications for buying this car:
1) Reliability- Civic is just as reliable, and many other modern cars.
2) Focus, Civic, Golf, and Mazda3 all have powerful versions, not just a bodykit.
3) Buying a car for the backseat is crazy. Just get an old van.
4) 34 hwy mpg? Certain BMWs sip that much.
5) Well they have a point with the smooth ride.
1. It's a piece of junk.
2. If you like 90s styling with NO cutting edge design features.
3. If you're a crone.
4. If you're into 4 speed automatics and the same powertrain engineered since the 80s.
5. It's a piece of junk. (oh wait...)
You don't know what you are talking about.
