    That fact that you can't figure out how to adjust the radio settings is a YOU problem not an issue with the car. ...

    The interior would be the same with minor differences but I would go with the XRS for the little bump in power. The larger 2.4 engine only give 22/30 compared to the S engine that gives 26/34. So it depends on what matters more to you.

    If you are looking at the "s" specifically, make sure it has the Entune system with all of the cool apps. Also, buy this weekend!

    Just bought one of these a week ago. It's NOT a BMW. But it's NOT $35K either. MPG has been amazing. MUCH better than the Camry I traded in. Look, it's small, inexpensive, extremely reliable and fun to drive (and a lot easier to park!). Corolla engineers get a lot of credit for evolving this car from a drab little matchbox into a sleek little package.

    I'm looking at the Toyota website and unless you add your own seats as an aftermarket addition, the seats are the same except black cloth. The severing wheel difference is audio and Bluetooth controls, no change in the shape or quality of the wheel.

  • @CREATIVEreviews

    Yes, it is extremely tinny sounding and when you up the bass for compensation, it waters the audio down to unlistenable.

  • @joshuafleming4751
    @joshuafleming4751 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    to adjust the audio stystem you go to the raido and in the bottom left corner there should be a speaker looking symbol. push the speaker symbol and you can adjust the audio

  • @CREATIVEreviews
    @CREATIVEreviews  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Pandora app uses your phone's data plan and you would use your Pandora account to listen to your stations after you set up the Entune app on your phone. I would check out Toyota's website for more information.

    You are hating on this for very very minuscule things, and your review was not helpful. You spent more time talking about your opinion on the body style and touch screen than you did talking about the quality of materials and drive style

  • @MrMase12

    I test drove the Corolla S this morning, really enjoyed the quietness of the ride, but not really much of a "S" so might go with the LE and grab some after market rims because the ones here where I am at all had hub caps.

    @CreativeReviewsP in your opinion would this make a good first car for me, i am 18 years old and my parents want to get me a car that i can drive around a quite busy city for college/years aftercollege and i am wondering if this car or scion tc 2012 would be appropiate for a first car?

    its not ridiculous, the Corolla is a very reliable car and if you like it, that's your preference. As for the color, I have always thought that silver is a very plain color on cars, along with white. My favorite for the "S" would be red, my favorite for the regular would be a dark charcoal.

  • @CREATIVEreviews
    @CREATIVEreviews  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I understand that you have a Corolla and do not want it to be seen in a bad light but the car is not one to compete with any of the others in its segment. The engine is great and will last but we live in the interior of the car, it has to be a great experience inside and out. Toyota was cutting corners to save itself money, there is no questions about that. As soon as the new redesign comes out, the 2013 and older models will see a larger than normal discount.

  • @CREATIVEreviews
    @CREATIVEreviews  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Going into a review or critique, I try not to have all the information about a car to make things feel like a natural discovery while I go through the vehicle and learn new things. Its the same reason why I don't know as much as professional reviewers. I didn't know I wouldn't like this car so much. Either way, I think with there being good and positive reviews out there, there should be some negative as well.

  • @CREATIVEreviews
    @CREATIVEreviews  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looking back at this car months after I reviewed it originally, the Corolla is looking more and more like a disappointment when compared to other vehicles in its class. The Cruze is slowly making a name for itself in the interior, the engine is still iffy, the redesigned Civic is gains more of the fans it lost with its poor 2012 redesign, and the Focus is the most exciting from its base model all the way to its true sports alteration, the ST. A redesign has to happen for this car to compete.

    i can't show you any definite evidence right now of what the 2013 Corolla will look like but by working for Toyota I was able to see what it will look like and it is significantly redesigned. Unlike the Camry, which became boxier, while trying to be sporty, the 2013 Corolla looks sportier but in a good way. In a way it looks like a cross between the current generation Homda Civic and a Lexus model.

    yes...you hate on the nav. screen too much, honda and many other cars have a glare on the screen view, it depends which angle you look at it, also you can park the car a certain way so that the sun isn't in the way, if you're in bumper to bumper traffic just suck it up...you'll live.....

    I wouldn't call the seats in the S bucket seats, it's the same seats as in the L and LE. Same goes for the steering wheel a shave off the bottom to make it flat and adding the knobs on the 2 and 10 doesn't make the wheel any better in reality. I can't say anything about the exterior styling because I'm just not a fan or if but a lot of people like it but the interior is cheap and when the redesign comes out Toyota will most likely acknowledge that this is a sub par car and fix a lot about it.

    This or the Scion TC would be great choices as a first car. These are both made by Toyota so most likely it will come down to styling. My favorite of the two would be the TC.

  • @CREATIVEreviews
    @CREATIVEreviews  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You may be right about the reputation they had but as of now, Toyota is being seen as a company that cuts corners. The engine will still last but the cheap interior materials will be worn down before you are finished with your car. You say the more features they add leads to having more computers controlling this features and thus leads to more problems, that may be right if they can't handle the new tech but you are still saying that they lack features. It's a cheap and old model.

  • @CREATIVEreviews
    @CREATIVEreviews  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    No, unfortunately that dark interior is only available on the Corolla S.

    I completely agree with you on these new Corollas. Yes it's a Toyota and they have a good reputation, but they really have cheaped out and so has Honda which is a real shame. I don't understand how Toyota can still sell these with 4 speed automatics when everyone else is using at least a 5 or 6 speed. There are far better choices out there for what you'd pay for this car and you'd get so much more for your money. Same goes for the once cool Civic, which is no longer king of the compacts.

    • @liddlebopeep
      @liddlebopeep ปีที่แล้ว

      Durability. Toyota stuck with the 4-speed automatic while Nissan's reputation took a major hit with their shitty CVTs. Even the Elantra has had major engine problems. In the end, Toyota is still the winner.

    My family just got a 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye and that car is just awesome. The interior is light years ahead of this and the Civic's in terms of both quality and styling. Not to mention the exterior looks a hell of a lot better and it actually performs with the turbo and 6 speed manual! It handles great, has good power, and still manages 39 mpg highway. If you're looking at compacts, look at the new Dart, Focus, Cruze, Elantra, and the new Sentra looks pretty nice. All are much better values.

  • @mountainbiker5246
    @mountainbiker5246 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would think Toyota after its negative publicity over quality control problems that they would step it up in the styling dept. The Camry and Corolla are blan in style and from a comparison advantage Ford and Chevrolet and BUick have come along way from hard plastics like in the Corolla. I agree with the guy speaking about hard plastics and geriatric styling. if a part breaks down, guess what they have to go to Japan to get the part hitting your wallet with expensive repairs

    There's a new Corolla redesign coming late 2013, wait for it. The Corolla's interior is cheap and I'm sure Toyota will address it. This way you'll get a car that lasts forever and hopefully it won't feel like a cheap mess. I hate that armrest...

This car is amazing.looking at what corollas used to be, they have changed a lot. Toyota has steped up the corolla. Lets see how the 2014 s looks like..take my advise this car is worth every dollar.buy it with confidence, its a toyota it will last a long long time.

    The Chevy Cruze catches on fire and the steering wheel comes off. I'd rather have something I know I'm going to be able to count on when I need it. Shovrolets are unreliable and cheaply built. Toyota is the way to go.

  • @CREATIVEreviews
    @CREATIVEreviews  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    People may get mad at me for saying this but the Corolla, in recent years, has been a cheaply made attempt to capture the people who go from one generation of Toyota to another without taking the time to research the competition. It's a money grab from Toyota, its good business to deceive people to make more profit but it disgusts me as someone who loves car to see them release a subpar car with the Corolla name on it. Other manufacturers did it too but that doesn't make it right.
