Nice to see solo specific reviews of great games. I love playing both multiplayer and solo but having a good solo mode especially for heavier games is the difference between it getting added to my collection or not due to lack of frequent opportunities to play longer/heavier games with others.
The theme is surface level, it's basically just an abstract point salad!! "Western Legends" would be a game where the theme and historical facts are ACTUALLY well integrated!!
I adore this game multiplayer, but only found it ok solo. The biggest problem I have with the solo game (which you alluded to) is that the game is very interactive, but it’s too easy to game the system since you know exactly what the bot is going to do. I love how simple the solo system is, but I can’t help but think that a solo deck would insert a little more uncertainty.

Is the 8/10 for the game itself or for the solo mode?
Great explanation...that is a lot to chew on. Ultimately it may be just a bit too much.
