Are you happy you pulled the trigger? I too have been on the fence with this one. My wife and I only play 2P and enjoy heavy euros so this seems like a no brainer.

The blue and white board design causes everything to sorta blur. I think that there needed to be thicker black lines to demarcate the different sections of the board.
Which is your favorite Lacerda game?
Lisboa, Gallerist, and Vinhos… all are my fav based on my mood 😄

Chris and Wendy Yi are GREAT additions to The Dice Tower!
Especially as they cover games like Lisboa and other Vital Lacerda games which Dice previously wasn't reviewing.

One suggestion is that they should feel free to add a few more re-shoots if necessary. For example inadvertently saying an 8.5 is the good ol' seal of approval could be a quick edit by just starting over from that point and snipping it out at the end. Note: This happened at the end of the Boonlake review as well. Putting out a "whoops, oh yeah, 8.5 is the seal of excellence vibe" slightly diminishes how significant it is for a game to get the Seal of Excellence from the Dice Tower (home of the best board game reviewers in the hobby in my opinion).

Chris, I'm curious, how come you hated Mercado de Lisboa but you said now that you love the city building in this one? Aren't they very similar, as Mercado was spun off from this gameplay element?
While it's similar, it feels like too much was stripped away in Mercado de Lisboa. Particularly, in this original game, the city grid gives immediate bonuses, rubble set collection, resource generation, and points. In Mercado, it's simply points (ie. Coins). I was excited at the prospect of a trimmed down Lisboa city grid, but it became an abstract game with too little tension. Hope that helps!
I really think Lisboa would be improved with a better board design. The main "goal" of the game (despite there being many ways to score points) is to build the city grid, yet it is not centralized on the board. This contributes to the game feeling a little "and the kitchen sink." A better design would focus the game better.
6.5 ? Dude, Chris feels like one of those contrarian, edge Lord gamers who goes against the grain just to be different. Like that guy in high school who claimed to like the B sides better. Glad Wendy was there to be the voice of reason.
That's me, contrarian, edge lord Chris! Because nobody out there rates it lower than a 6.5. The game is universally loved by all gamers. Except me :)
