Nice Play Tom. The only mistakes I spot, was once that you 0lay the Marquis at the docs and advanced the Cardinal twice. If you notice that card only have one arrow, so you can only advance once. The other one I’m not sure, but I think you played one more round that you should and finally, when you score the plans is the number of people you hired during the game, not the number of plans. People were starving they need jobs, you did a nice thing. :}

Great playthrough, just played this for the first time ever today as a solo and made some mistakes for sure. One thing I wondered is why Lacerda only had 7 houses available, you kept saying he'd run out but there was only ever 7 on the board. What have I missed?
At 11:48 lacerda plays the action take a decree, so he should spend influence to do so, am i right ?
23:24 I think state action is first and noble action second. So I think influence to spend is less since you install Lacerda's Official first with the State Action?
at 23:55, 29:59 and 31:39 Lacerda should have remove the lowest value cube from row/column when building the building, right?

At 27:25 were you supposed to pay 3 influence not 2? Or does the yellow one not count?
Just had a go at this solo...got smashed. 171 to my 136. The decree tiles win it for him at 3 wigs each. In my game Lacerda collected 36 points to my 12 in Decree cards. The architect tile wigs for each court officer is also heavily in his favour

After he took the Earthquake rubble cube to put on his tableau, there was remaining 1 Tsunami and 1 Earthquake to the right, and 2 Fire at the bottom. Though, based on his tableau (after checking), he doesn't have to pay for Tsunami rubble cubes, so it's (Earthquake) 3 + (Fire) 2 + (Fire) 2 + (Treasury cost) 3 = 10... So, he did play correct.

So Tom, Lacerda DOES pay influence simply moving from one official to the next at the start of his turn?? That’s a huge challenge as he will be blowing wigs to meet the influence cost more often than not.
Yup, he pays to visit nobles just like a normal player and so I really try and get officials out early to cost him the most wigs I can before he starts getting his out later which can't be removed. It seems balanced out by the fact that his actions are a lot more powerful than yours (never has to pay money/officials/plans) and that beating him in wigs doesn't necessarily get you even the first rank at the end :)
Great video Tom. I thought the way it is stated in the rules, Lacerda first does the state action and then pays influence to take a nobel action. At least this is the way it reads if you follow his rules step by step. Around 23:00 you charge him the influence first before he displaces your state officials.
He pays just like a player would, when he visits the noble before he performs any action. I can see what you mean, the rules don't mention him spending influence until he does the Noble action, but I've had clarification from Vital here: boardgamegeek.com/article/27358793#27358793
To add to this - while searching through the forums I found I'm wrong about Lacerda's officials not being removed. They can be moved to the plaza like player officials, the rule just means they are not removed to pay for public buildings
Thanks for the clarifications Tom! If Vital says you pay first then that's good with me. There are very few situations where the difference matters but it's nice to just have it consistent with the normal rules.
