Hows things Mick. Mine was running extremely hot recently, after 4 months of running perfect. It's actually been pretty warm here in Ireland but I doubt that was the reason. The fan started making a whirring noise all the time, and the black vent was roasting to the touch while gaming. This a good video my Xbox was getting so hot it would cut off I watched the video took it apart the fan was loose so I plugged it in good now works. If your Xbox one s is overheating it’s due to more than likely a fan problem I could literally smell burning electronics. Your Xbox should never be that hot to the touch. That's the problem right there... Did u say u have additional cooling fans plugged into it? If so, It's USUALLY not recommended to use 3rd party products on consoles- ESPECIALLY if u have to plug them into the console as a power source. Perfect example: cooling fans. Most of them require being plugged directly into the console to power them. All that does is draw more power from the console and CAN (over time, not immediately of course) shorten the console's lifespan. Disclaimer: I'm no expert and I COULD be entirely wrong, but I'm simply speaking from MY experience and (kinda) what I know and have seen all over the internet. I'm a gamer like anyone else and an ordinary person. I used to always get 3rd party plug-ins and accessories for my consoles, but I eventually learned that they cause more issues than they're worth. I know this because eventually, I've stopped using those all together and my consoles have been lasting quite a bit longer, and been having less issues actually. Lastly, that's not to say ALL 3rd party plug-ins are bad for the console, just make sure they're ones that are from trusted sites, sellers, brands, etc, AND (the most important one) that they don't have to be plugged DIRECTLY INTO the console (as a power source) as those (again) drain more power FROM the console and shortening it's lifespan. If anyone reads this, I do hope it genuinely helps. Just do some research and buy smart. Try to stay away from cheap plug-ins and stick to regular maintenance of ur console. It'll serve u a lot longer! 👍

Hey mate, not sure to be honest. There will be lots of opinions but imma guess a dodgy component. Take that thing bak under warranty while u still can is my advice - otherwise you could run it with the casing off to locate the noise better, but be so so careful as its dangerous if you touch sonething you shouldnt. if you manage to locate the noise, then you can replace what is possibly faulty. Thats what id do, but as i said, theres plenty of people willing to share opinions so see what else shows up here over time too!

Hey bro thanks for the awesome vid i feel like the back part of my xbox is kinda loose on the corners and also the part near the fan at the back maybe its because of the heat it brings out but im kinda paranoid about it, is it bad ?
Mine does too so I got 2 small USB fans bowing on it pointing at each end about 6" away or so and I have it sitting up about a 1" by putting some small blocks under it just to help air flow around it and I haven't had any more issues since I've done all that. May be a bit overkill but it doesn't bother me lol I've only played 2 games with it which are GTA Online and NBA 2K22. GTA never got hot enough to tell in game but I could tell by game play that 2K got too hot and caused music to cut in and out and would be a tiny bit glitchy. I'm really surprised it has heat issues with the way they designed it I figured it would be enough, although since they did go to the point of putting the massive fan on the top to blow the heat out tells me that they were concerned and knew that it would generate a lot of heat.
Thank you very much. I fixed my sons xbox. They wanted to charge me 75 to clean it and said the noise cant be fixed and that id have to buy new parts. Im on my bfs phone rn. 😁
I’ve had my Xbox since new. It gets so hot
Mine does too so I got 2 small USB fans bowing on it pointing at each end about 6" away or so and I have it sitting up about a 1" by putting some small blocks under it just to help air flow around it and I haven't had any more issues since I've done all that. May be a bit overkill but it doesn't bother me lol
I've only played 2 games with it which are GTA Online and NBA 2K22.
Bro .. do we need T9 only?
Or T8, and T10 ?
Watching to know in advance. Great video, very helpful
Thank you very much. I fixed my sons xbox. They wanted to charge me 75 to clean it and said the noise cant be fixed and that id have to buy new parts. Im on my bfs phone rn. I asked ppl on fb and said its broken. I showed them. Lol it had icecream all over it. My son put an ice cream sandwhich on it and it melted over the fan. I turned it off and never hothered with it til td and its finslly working. Tyvm.
Can the Xbox be not turning on entirely due to dust or is that something else
Should I be worried if I can hear the fan still? I took it all apart and cleaned everything yet I still hear the fan/a humming do I need to take it somewhere or will it be fine or?
Hey mate, watching the video because my cat sits on my girlfriend's Xbox and some little rocks have fallen in and likely wedged the fan so cheers for this we are gonna get it sorted tomorrow
Hope u get it sorted champion!
@@TinkerManMick hey mate got it done today, took it apart and cleaned it and now the fan is working again. Thanks heaps for the video, it was instrumental in fixing her Xbox.
Decided to give a dusting cause was running hot figured could use a quick clean. Doesn't help live in AZ where there's a lot of dust in the air.
Do you have to take off those little chips with connectors before you can remove the metal shielding over the fan?
just to be sure i'd take em off as well
Mine is getting hot and keep saying troubleshoot only had it a year ! So think it may need cleaning out as hasn’t been since I have had it and can see has dust inside
I just got a used Xbox that’s why I’m watching this so I can clean it n it’s like brand new
Very cool! Like this guy! Especially how to use non torx and stuff!!
Thank you, glad to help
Had my Xbox for nearly a year and have an open fire! So will need a clean! Thanks
Mines never been cleaned over a year old would a can of compressed air be ok too blast the dust from under the fan?
Yea id give it a blast!
Hey Pal when you do this, you should totally stop the Fins from moving, it produces Electr. who goes back to the board like an Generator. You can easily kill ur Board like this.
True but I would imagine there's a resistor on the pins it connects to or in the fan itself to stop any backtrack energy or any small surges?
Hi, I know this is 8 months later, but incase you still have a fear of breaking your motherboard; don't worry. Many motherboards have diodes to stop back electricity from breaking the motherboard.
Hey pal, u do know the fans move the entire time while games are running, right? 🤦🏻♂️💀
@@SilentAndy hey buddy you do know that fans who get to spin while the console is off produce electricity? Like an generator
I'm watching the video because I need to clean it, and I wanted to see how you take it apart.
