I just wanted to say, the techniques I've learned from your videos helped me get an old GBA cartridge back into working order! I thought it was a goner because it had rust on the pins and had obviously been full of liquid at some point. By some miracle, I got the rust scraped off the pins and got them actually cleaned to the point it's working! I'm still play testing to make sure the save feature is working, but considering the Nintendo logo didn't even appear the first time I tried it, I'm definitely getting somewhere!
Thanks for this @tronicsfix these videos are always appreciated. As a technician I love doing this stuff for people and sometimes a video like this is a great reminder on a step or two.
Hey there friend. I haven’t watched one of your videos in some time. I hope everything is going well with your treatment and I’m glad you’re still able to make videos and do repairs. I’m unsure how long or if you’re still battling but I’m hoping nothing but the best for you
Hey Steve, Good to see you made a recovery!!! You provide some of the best content I watch, THANK YOU!! I have one question, what container are you using for the isopropyl alcohol? I could not find it listed in the equipment list and I was curious. Thank you again for all the content and stay healthy.
Followed this today and did a stage 3 clean on my 3.5yr old Series S, didn’t get much dust out of it, defo need new paste, thanks Steve sublime & easy to follow.
Thx for this cleaning tutorial. I ordered my Series S in fall 2021 and can see alot of dust on the fab exhausts. I think with your video I am finally able disassemble it properly and give it a nice cleaning.👌
Thanks for the video, hope you get well soon! Sometimes I watched your videos repairing from outside but I never subscribed because in chrome I never use youtube registered, today I subscribe to give you a big hug and wish you the best!
It is so satisfying to watch you clean everything. Question for you, how do I find out if my ps5 is 1st gen or next gen? Love all your videos bud. Prayers for your recovery brother.
that geeky smile in the thumbnail got me. Subscribed! Update: Man sorry to hear about your cancer fight. Now I gotta click on that bell. Praying for you bro! F@ck cancer!
Have you ever used an electronic dusters? I stopped using compressed air almost 10 years ago and replaced with electric dusters, so much better and cost effective.
Canned air is toxic crap and expensive to boot. I recommend people invest in a small air compressor. Not harmful (as long as you're not stupid), pays for itself, no limit to how much you can blow things off, and you can do a bunch more stuff with it.
Hey Steve! I may have a broken thing for you. I bought a little speaker from Raycon on clearance through Amazon and it doesn't charge. It's discontinued, so when I contacted Raycon they just gave me a refund and didn't want me to return it. I don't have the ability to fix things like that, so would you be interested in it for a possible future video if you do another cluster of audio stuff? No charge since I got a refund! It was originally $40 msrp. I just don't want it to go to the dump when it's likely an easy fix for someone like you. 🙂
I heard you should stop fans with your finger before using the vacuum to not induct voltage back into the board. I know it’s not whats meant with static discharge, but I found it useful in this context Cleaned many pc‘s with vacuum and w/o stopping fans and never had a problem
This might not be that important but heatsinks are always installed/removed by using a cross pattern. Meaning that if you loosen the top left, you should then loosen the bottom right. The order doesn't matter for the 2 remaining screws. The reason is that this way the thermal paste is more evenly distributed and you also avoid any risks of cracking the cpu/gpu die.
me: clicks on thumbnail youtube: watching videos with paid promotions blah blah....... me: no!!! I meant the video dammit!!! sigh this happened more and more lately.
hi random question.........do you still buy laptops to repair and sell on ? i have a macbook pro here the screen has gone white i cant get it right no idea what to do with it.......the system itself is perfectly fine tho
Once the power supply, motherboard and any other electronics parts are removed from the shell, the heatsink and shell pieces can go thru the dishwasher. Be sure to remove them before the heated drying phase. And be sure to hang and blow out water from any crevices or the heat sink fins.
now what if you do all of this and your still overheating only on some games it runs xbox 360 games no problem but more recent titles like fortnite it will just freeze and turn off after 2 minutes if that
Any way to donate a good ps4 pro. USBs have no power, and wifi doesn't work. It's in great shape, but I bought a new one and am about to throw it in the garbage. Would be cool to see it get fixed.
Come hang out with Steve and the TronicsFix team on Discord: discord.gg/tronicsfix

Idk if there are other similar videos but I think this is amazing content. You should do this for all the major consoles
I’m so glad to see you getting better, and so proud of you for fighting hard! You are truly an inspiration!

You inspire me so many years man, i wish u best
These cleaning videos are valuable. I'm sure it saves a lot of people damage to their consoles.
Great video! Did you intentionally leave the soda on the fan just to drive us bonkers as you reassembled it?!? hahaha
Love this concept, creating these tutorial videos on how to properly clean. I'm going to be cleaning my original Xbox Ones soon
Thx for this cleaning tutorial. I ordered my Series S in fall 2021 and can see alot of dust on the fab exhausts. I think with your video I am finally able disassemble it properly and give it a nice cleaning.👌
Watched the video just to see the perfect amount of thermal paste. Was not disappointed.
Very informative as someone who owns a Series S. Though I couldn’t get over the spill. So strange watching you ignore the water damage lol
My favourite technician on TH-cam.
Hope you get well soon❤

Steve, you’re looking better than ever. I’m happy to see that. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for this video! I'm now much more confident to do a cleaning of my Series S myself.
I dont even have an Xbox but love watching all your content

I’m very happy you are doing well. Really enjoy your content. My family member went though what you did and they beat it. Just though I would share 😊
The previous owner misused the exhaust fan as a soda cooler
Lol, that’s what it seems like!
Good coffee warmer
Mmmmm… warm soda.
They are exhaust fans.
Big fan from Iran hope helt and happiness for you ❤
You are awesome man, please take care, best regards
I hope your health is improving. Also my OCD goes crazy seeing all this liquid damage not getting cleaned and putting everything back together. 😋
Cotton Buds....
Love it, make QTip pay if they want to be mentioned
Keep doing your thing Steve!
Always good to see you brother.
Looking good Steve! Keep the vids coming and I’ll keep 👍
I see Steve, I upvote! Glad you're doing good!
I love you how to and fix videos, thank you so much 😊
sending love, longtime fan, great video!
Have you ever used an electronic dusters? I stopped using compressed air almost 10 years ago and replaced with electric dusters, so much better and cost effective.
I really appreciate you and videos like these. Thank you!
Loved watching the video Even though I don't have one of those LOL it's just fun to watch and you do such a great job!
LOL, I woulda run that fan thru the dishwasher. OCD and me, kinda made me a bit loopy seeing the soda stains.
A cleaning video with a soda-spilled-fan installed after the process. That`s my kind of humour.
Seriously: All the best from Germany.
you ever try a electric air duster that turns into a vacuum cleaner too i love those things.
Think we best leave the cleaning to Rob, I think 😂Only kidding, really enjoy the videos!
Lol!
Great video. Any chance you can do a similar video for the Series X?
Since you asked, lol: th-cam.com/video/dKJ2ATvKKAs/w-d-xo.html
@@Tronicsfix awesome, thank you!
hmm my fav youtuber uploaded a new video :D
I dont even have a series s but im stilk gonna watch the video lol
Thanks! I appreciate that.
Same
Thanks alot man, wish u the best
Great video Steve! Hope you're doing great. Can you do an identical video for the PS4 and PS5? Thanks.
18:00 - i lost a lot of blood doing this for the first time in my life 😭😂
Hi this is very helpful
Glad you think so!
How to clean every generation video please 😊
Thank you for this!
I would love one for the Series X. The used one I just bought has dust stuck all over the fan.
I find the internal layout of the Series S so much more elegant than of the Series X
I needed this ty🙏

I use the canned air vacuum combo
there is serious liquid damage on this!
That's not surprising considering how much pop was in every component until this point. lol
Yeah, super damaged! When I went to make this video I just grabbed one that I had laying around.

Would it be better to replace the thermal pads as well, unless they're just putty to stick into the console
Is it safe to use a vacuum cleaner? I thought there was the risk of static discharge
I use a vacuum on a regular basis and never had a problem.
I heard you should stop fans with your finger before using the vacuum to not induct voltage back into the board.

@@Tronicsfix oops 😂
Can you do Switch next?
Hello, I have a question is what on the ifixit website he sells the real fans of ps4 the delta because I'm very afraid of falling on a counter way.

Always fan boy 😎
@Tronicsfix was wondering if you want to buy a broken Xbox s
Makes a cleaning video and doesn't even clean all the soda
What is the thickness of thermal pads.

what about the statics from using vacuum?
That board looks burned at 17:28, was it a broken one you cleaned?
Yes, it was a broken one
@@Tronicsfix aha ok thanks for all your content, love your videos 😊👍🙏
I know they NEED to use security screws but man...I've striped 4 torx t8s trying to clean my series S and my PS5...so sad
Yeah, I wish they wouldn't too.

Yes
I got to 9.30 and my its connected to the board I can't disconnect it
Don't have a Xbox no plans on buying one but I love you so I'll watch the whole video

Dang, if you need something to repair, i have a closet full of things.
now what if you do all of this and your still overheating only on some games it runs xbox 360 games no problem but more recent titles like fortnite it will just freeze and turn off after 2 minutes if that

How do you spill a soda in your game console? Most of the time isn't the console positioned somewhere not close to the person playing it?
