    Clean Your Xbox Fan WITHOUT Opening it - th-cam.com/video/Y59OZ_e3KlA/w-d-xo.html 🛠

    I think it’s a design flaw not being able to remove the top vent cover. Removing the back invalidates the warranty but cleaning is essential and if you can’t clean the fan and vents you risk shortening the life expectancy of your console. They should have had screws or clips holding the top vent cover so it can easily be removed for cleaning the fan. Some people live in more dusty environments than others and for some cleaning maybe a lot needed more regularly.

      I actually think microsoft changed their warranty cover so that opening the back doesn't invalidate the warranty

      I would recommend against blowing air from your mouth as saliva droplets can easily short some component. Some alternatives to compressed air are: vacuum cleaner on reverse setting, bike pump/baloon pump, waving a hand fan close to it.

    • @aviatinggamer9051
      @aviatinggamer9051 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can afford a $550ish (with tax) console but can’t afford a hand powered air blower?
      Here’s a money saving tip: soak the entire Xbox in some warm soapy water for 10-15 minutes. Afterwards wipe the external surfaces with a towel.
      IMPORTANT: Do not disassemble the Xbox.
      Then use some big luggage or big tuppaware and fill it with rice and let the Xbox soak in the rice for about 1-2 days.
      Plug in and enjoy. The only expenses should be enough rice to surrounded the Xbox in a piece of luggage/tuppaware as I assume you have one of the latter.

    One alternative method that I used after opening the back of the series x was blowing the vents with my lungs because I did not have air in a can or his air tool from the video. Yes it's a bit of a caveman method in my opinion but I was able to clean the fans this way and not struggle too much besides coughing some from the lint and in some of the deeper places that I couldn't blow I then used q tips to clean the tighter areas that are harder to reach. The same methods also work for people who still have their Genesis and SNES cartridges and are trying to simply clean them.

      Take another metal thing about the same size as the screw head. Heat it with a heat gun until very hot. Press it against the screw to transfer heat into the screw in the fan without heating up the surrounding. Could use a solder tool if you have one.
