- I've rather enjoyed working on a more "modern" Final Fantasy compilation. Many of these I discover while live streaming, when my followers suggest new music for me to try. I had played this one in the past, but when it came to recording it, I laughed at the fact that I didn't even know the name of the piece (it's all in Japanese in my book), so I just called it the "FFX-2 Song". This is often the case with me and music. I play SO MUCH of it, that I can hardly keep track of names. I go more by sound. Do I like how it sounds? Then yes, it deserves a recording! (I already recorded a duet version of this with my brother here: • Eternity: Memory of Li... )
I'm actually working my way through playing FFV at the moment, so perhaps someday I'll have played through all of them, including FFX-2! I actually remember when it came out, because I saw the strategy guide in the bookstore I used to ride my bike to every day. I was surprised by the fact that almost the entire cast of main characters were female!
I recorded another "modern" Final Fantasy piece the same day as this one, so it should be out soon! It's a wild one :P

Despite not being a fan of FFX-2, this piece is incredibly dear and special to me. I listened to it once as I watched the sun rise through the rain. The sky was cast in stark shades of grey and golden yellow. I will never forget that morning, and this music completed the experience. Thank you so much for playing it.

me and my 3 yo daughter just finished playing FFX and moved on to FFX-2,,, this is the first thing that stoke her, the music is incredible, she doesnt let me skip the intro :D
My favourite song of this game. I actually had never played it through properly (but very much so FFX). I often just sat there because the opening was so nice.

X-2 is my favorite of all the FF piano collections. In addition to this great arrangement of Eternity there's Seal of the Wind, Akagi Team, Yuna's Ballad, 1000 words. They're all great.

One of the most beautiful melody I've heard in my whole life, I heard it for the first time when I was only 17 in 2003, but you have to believe that there are things that never changes because I still love him today as much, if not even more than at the time.

This song is what made me play piano many years ago. And exactly this version of the song was always the one I wanted to master as it is quite hard especially getting towards the very fast part. You played this so elegantly. I could close my eyes and hear exactly the same song as the original and that is incredibly impressive. I've seen tons of players playing this on TH-cam, but absolutely none of them played it this elegant and smooth. Especially the fast part. I was starting to think it was impossible for players to achieve the same smoothness as the original but thank you for proofing me wrong. I am going to pick up where I left with this song once I got a new piano and keep up the good work!

This song completely surprised me when I played X2 for the first time. It is so different than most of the music of the game, and has a much different tone too. It is one of the most beautiful pieces of music from the entire library of Final Fantasy games. Your rendition and performance match this. Thank you for this
I posted almost this same exact comment… the first 3/4 of the game just does NOT match the tone set by this beautiful intro piece. It gets back on track near the end though.

@@MessagesFromEarth just saw this comment listening again! So, I agree. There are so many layers to it. Since the whole world is a kind of pseudo-reincarnation story and Tidus is essentially a dream, my interpretation is that they were trying to imply Tidus and Yuna “are” Shuyin and Lenne. Like, Tidus is a dream of someone, right? And looks exactly like Shuyin? I don’t know, the whole thing gets surprisingly deep and heartfelt toward the end of the game, finally matching the tone this piece sets when you sit on the title screen for 13 hours just so it won’t end 😅

One of my favourite piano collection pieces. This was a brilliant interpretation, Kara! The slow pace gave the song a sentimental feel, kind of like walking through a field of blooming trees in the onset of spring. Great technique and nuance as always! A pleasure to hear you play.

This is a really good arrangement of this song. I've often found myself just leaving the game at the title screen because I can't bring myself to play it since it causes this song to stop playing. i think I like this arrangement as much as i like the one square enix made.
