- One of my favorite tracks so far from XI! And of course it's by the great Uematsu. My piano was in super shape for this one, thanks to my awesome dad. I've been in a mode of getting these recordings out quickly, and hope to release the album this year! Still waiting on the FFVII album to streaming platforms, but I hope all of you who purchased a CD are enjoying the tracks. Still got some left if anyone is interested! Hope you enjoy this new video.

I am not going to lie, I shed a tear in the first 10 seconds. It reminded me of when I first started to play ffxi as my taru entering Ronfaure for the first time.

I step out of San d'Oria, dagger in hand. The fields and trees stretch out as far as I can see. My task is to hunt hare.
I creep up slowly behind one... sneak attack! After a vicious rabbit battle, I am victorious, and the music swells.
An orc I didn't see aggros and pulverizes my spine.
Good memories...
First you brought me back to my Childhood with ffvi, now you help me relive my teen years with FF11....

My xi character was Elvaan and from San d'Oria. As such, I spent many hours in the Ronfaure's and this song transports me back there whenever I hear it. Thank you for the beautiful rendition, Kara!

Another gem from Nobuo Uematsu! I have been a student of the keyboard for 64 years and I tell my medical students often that some of the best music ever written come from the gaming industry. You master his music with your style and emotion.
The music in FFXI has some of the absolute best tracks in the series!

The music is so beautiful. Melody brings me back to the wonderful sense of adventure I had playing this game 20 yrs ago.
Ah, something about every FF soundtrack, even the ones I haven't played, always just seems to conjure up the most vivd mental images. I feel like I can really close my eyes, listen, and drift off--except I'd miss the vid. Beautifully performed as always!

From 2:11 to 2:45 always got to me. Oh yeah and 3:13 to 4:00 as well ... Still playing FF11 to this day (it's not as good as it used to be, being far to easy and all, but still better than everything else out there). Even tho my main character hailed from Windurst (That's the Sarutabaruta zone), I fondly remember leveling my White Mage for hours in Ronfaure, just taking my time and enjoying it.
That gets me right in the feels... Thanks Kara

Having never played the original game, I have no context for this other than friends who have, and who speak fondly of getting to hear this music for the many hours they put into the game. I've always been struck with how elegant this composition sounds---not at all what I would expect from a starting area.
And my goodness, did you bring that elegance with this! What a great performance! I loved the sensitivity and nuance you brought to the arrangement. Keep up the amazing work!

I never played FFXI, but many years ago I came across this track in a Square collection, and it stuck with me immediately. Absolutely gorgeous song, and a brilliant cover.
Never played FFXI, but this piece never fails to captivate me. Makes you feel like you're standing in the middle of a renaissance hall, with people dancing all around you. Lovely rendition!
Me and my friend started our characters in windurst, way back on the initial release of this game. We decided we were gonna go to sandy with our low level characters. We were hard-core noobs figuring out how to get there. Took us half a day to get there with no help. Finally getting to ronfare being greeted by this song knowing we're home free was amazing!

At first I want to say it's beautiful played , and glad you also did the classical baroque one of Jeuno. The song was a motivation to start learning piano. For as a beginner I've been learning ronfaure and I can take a lot of finger placement in case of your suitable camera perspectives. Im playing straight from my mind so for example the up and down rising/ switching part at 1:05 - 1:20 helped a lot where I was stuck until now, Double win :P

One of my fav pieces from FFXI.
Cactuar server, beta(2001?), West Ron, the last day before the servers shut down, some Devs were playing around with summons, standing on the wall outside the city exit. (beta only had the non expansion jobs playable).
I only stayed around playing FFXI to try out BST.
My LS was the first NA's to get airship licenses(I was in like the third group), I ended up with most jobs 75(the rest over 65), pulled for chain 500 as Bard, got 2 accounts to play 2x 75 DRG/BLU dual boxing with macros(I named my second character Vhyun, because you could have a Wyvern with that name too), Self light and dark skillchain, solo'd everything with BST, BLM, RDM, DRG. I lived my life for some time on JP time because JP pt's were like static, and much more efficient than NA.
The absolute best was leveling thief on bats in garliage citadel with my friend on vent just after getting trick attack, and having so much fun making a game of putting emnity onto the bard.
6 years of playtime I think. The music gets me every time.

I watched a friend kill rabbits in Ronfaure back in 2004. I liked the music and I decided that I would start my character in San d'Oria because I wanted to level up with this music lol.
Good choice, I chose Bastok and everything was really empty in Gustaberg. That game was incredible back then.

I have to ask what inspired you to learn & perform these melodies? Did you grow up playing these games? Did a friend or partner show off the tunes and you found the sheet music?
I ask because I share final fantasy playlists as one of the best examples of beauty & creativity in (early) game design. There's a lot of beautiful games now, of course, but it's a joy to see the surprise on peoples' faces when they wrote games off as trivial/violent a decade or more ago, and are surprised at how evocative they can be
