Just bought a xlt 6.8 love it. Got 800 miles on it just. Made a 400 mile trip to west tx got 16 mpg on cruise 75 mph it ain’t even broke in. Oh 373 gears
Very few 6.8 videos out. Awesome job Ben
Red ,Red ,Red ...Danny's not here ,Mrs. Tanner !😅😅
Like this truck , Love your channel.
I wish the half tons got these bigger v8 options. That would be so awesome
I totally forgot about the new 6.8L engine. Nicely optioned xlt
Ben your comment about your trying to figure out the application for the 6.8. The 6.8 was drsigned for weekend warriors towing a camper and needing extra payload and braking power that the f150 doesnt have. And the 7.3 was created because so many people wanted a heavier duty gas rig for more of everyday pulling eith out having to buy a diesal and deal with all the emmission garbage. I think that the 6.8 is going to be a great engine and if you absoutley had to you could get the 4.30 rear end in it.
I agree. I’m the weekend warrior. Had a F150 5.0 that was great but everything is getting bigger and heavier to tow. The F250 with the 6.8 gives me that little bit more that I needed without spending $100k. My F250 cost maybe $5k more then a new F150. Gas mileage is maybe 2-3 mpg less than my F150 (leveling kit and 33’s). So far so good.
6.8L is for the person who wants a SuperDuty for the size and payload but doesn’t need to tow more than 14,000 pounds. And probably doesn’t plan on towing that often.
To me the 6.8 would be the obvious choice. A little less money and theoretically a hair better MPG than the 7.3. Unless you tow “big” or carry a large camper often.
I just bought one just got 16 mpg on a 400 mile trip
Love this truck
Thank you Ben for the 6.8L video. Have one in my 2023 F250 STX, 6.8L with 3:73 gears. Think it's an underrated engine.
6.8 replaced the old reliable 6.2 that was in every work truck, van etc. So they want it widespread to have it show it’s a solid engine. Just a detuned 7.3. Same block.
I’m hoping Ford will give some Factory Incentives for the Super Duty’s.
Ben's growing out his hair and beard. Is he joining ZZ Top?
😅Yeah I was gonna mention the flowing hair & mane! 😂👌🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
The 6.8 exists for fleets and commercial contractors that don’t need 430 Hp in their basic truck. The 6.8 should be more durable due to thicker cylinder walls, which improves head gasket sealing and heat transfer.I’d like to see side by side towing comparisons ,mpg and performance testing. The few 6.8s I’ve seen do 0-60 times are much quicker than the 7.3l . Is that a fluke or does the lighter duty transmission, and lower option truck combination more than make up for the 25 hp difference?
The 2024 & 2025 models 6.8L can run on E85 fuel and higher while the 7.3L doesn't. I run all my vehicles with 91 or higher octane premium fuel so doesn't matter to me. The exterior of this truck looks really good with the STX package.
Ben, how does the 6.8 compare to mpg and engine performance on Chevy/GMC 6.6 gasser?
There are no cheap pick ups anymore
Not in a loaded XLT crew cab 4x4 .If you do a basic xl which is still better equipped than a 10 yr old XLT,or an Stx you can cut 5-8k off the price .
Have you shopped for houses, apartments, groceries, or insurance recently? Everything is extremely expensive the average new car sale in America is $40,000. You can get a base model F150 XL for 40K or an F250 XL for 47K. But you get 10x more technology, safety and convenience features standard now then you did 5 years ago.
@@SkylarRaceyup. All these people saying that’s more than I paid for my house. Yeah, 30-40 years ago. Stupid people
Nice job Ben!
I have a XL stx for $55k in Stanton,TX 4,200miles so far good truck👌
Love your content. Can you please do a video comparing the 6.8 to the 7.3? I’ll subscribe if you do.
Already filmed, posting tomorrow in fact.
@@BenHardyCars cool thanks
Also can you do a Ford Ranger Raptor vs. Tacoma TRD pro vs. Canyon AEV/Colorado ZR2 Bison?
I guess the real question will be the longevity. You seem like a nice guy, keep it up
Cool truck!! If only they kept making the 7.3 DIESEL….
Anyways keep up your hard work brotha!! working in such hot weather like that. It was ALSO 106 degrees here in North Carolina as well!!
you’ve got dedication. And that’s impressive!! Keep it up my man!! 👍👍
Better looking than the hideous Silverado HD..
Thanks Ben. For all your videos 😊😊 it's sad. Most new trucks in the last 4. 5. Years got tons of troubles. Il get a 1968. 1972. P u. And REBUILD it 😅😅😅😅😅
Love the fact that it has 4.30 gears!
It's nice, but 65,000 is way to much for a truck.
Go buy a used one
Just once before I get too old to enjoy it I want to see him leave the dealership in a super duty, sideways tires balling.
But that's just me....
Hi Ben.
I really wish they didn’t change the traditional and well known ford turn signal sound.
Very nice truck for a Ford built a good looking truck good for a family trips
I think it’s crazy how Ford has already increased the prices on their diesel options by $500 so what by the time the 2025s come out they’ll be an additional $1,000
Same gas mileage 2007 Ford Expedition! I wonder if the 6.8L would be good farm vehicle?
Did Ford ever fix the lifter/cam galling issues with the 7.3?
2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT Sport 4X4 6.8L Gas V8 10-Speed Automatic Crew Cab 4X4!
You look like Tom Hanks stranded on the island.
I don't understand why this engine even exists, only available on XL trim and once you add 4wd and this STX package, it's cheaper to get an XLT that comes standard with 7.3l and 4x4.
For a 6.8 seems like a lower HP figure than id expect.
What happened to the 7.3 godzillas engine
6.8 on E85 might outrun a 7.3
Hey Ben, are your aware of the pornography bots on your channel?
No, I delete spam comments when I see them though.
@@BenHardyCars there’s bots for a lot of your shorts. 1 each.
Wow! Very nicely priced truck.
Nope.
Truly underpowered. F-150s with the power boost have more power and double the fuel economy.
“Underpowered” Lol. You can’t even touch the towing capacity of this truck with an F-150. You can’t even make the comparison…what are you saying? I’d love to see a power boost pull just 10k at 80mph: interstate vs this F-250. Watch the trans temps, EG temp, oil temp, and rear diff temp skyrocket. Definitely one of the dumber comments I’ve seen.
Comparing “apples to oranges.” Even the best mechanical watch is inaccurate when compared to a cheap quartz. The value proposition in each case is different. Forced induction produces more power but that comes at a cost. I would venture to guess that towing a heavy trailer or driving over the speed limit brings the MPG difference much closer.
@@braddenr.4778 dude the PowerBoost is rated to tow 14k lbs. it will do 10k just fine. But yes, the F250 has a bigger frame, bigger stronger axles, beefier tranny, bigger brakes, and more robust suspension. That being said, if I were towing 10,000 lbs, and it was just pulling occasionally, I’d still take the F150.
This truck’s a crime against Nature - totally unnecessary! 😮
Completely necessary if you tow or carry heavy loads
Said no one ever.
These gas heavy duties are made for payload. Some work crews and independent contractors honestly need them. And some can afford to spec them with some luxury as well as they have to double as the family vehicle. Half ton trucks and midsize trucks can’t do what these heavy duty trucks can
How do you think your Prius got delivered to your dealership?
Great engine for fleet trucks, thats about it
would be cool for you to review a XL Offroad truck
I wish Chevy would bring back a version of the 8.1.
