    Stop justifying their outrageous pricing! There is no justification for the price of these trucks. $60k for a stripped down truck? No reason they should cost that much especially the amount of trucks they produce. Its not about what you are getting, the mfg knows that people are stupid enough to buy them for that amount. They would be forced to reduce pricing if people would stop buying them. Say they are to costly so the mfg know that we are tired of paying so much for a pickup truck.

    I want to see more 6.8l testing for sure. Can’t wait to see how it does on the Ike with a travel trailer and see how it compares to the 7.3l. Will need to replace my 6.2l in like 5 years so these will be used by that time and perfect to move into without paying the crazy new truck prices.

      Hopefully used truck prices will deflate some by then, I doubt it, but one can dream. These days if you're in the market for a truck it's almost better to go ahead and buy new with a full warranty and everything because the price differential between a solid used truck and a new truck isn't as big as you would imagine anymore.

  • @stephenoffiler8024
    @stephenoffiler8024 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

    Yup, that fuel economy is pretty much what all gasser 3/4 ton trucks get. I live at sea level in southern New England. I had a '96 F250 (8600 GVWR) with 5.8 and 4-speed E4OD weighing around 5500lb, which got 15-16 on the highway and 13 in overall mixed driving. Now driving a '16 F250 (9990 GVWR) with 6.2 and 6-speed, weighing around 6500lb, getting those same MPG numbers, which your '24 is also getting. They find small efficiency improvements in engine and transmission design then cancel them out with more weight and features.

    I work for a garbage company and we recently got a brand new 2024 f-350 regular cab with the 6.8 V8. I am super impressed with all the amenities that the lowest base model super duty is equipped with now days. The 6.8 engine in a 2wd one ton regular cab is a rocket ship and I still average 14.9 mpg in town. I really want to order the same truck as a crew cab 4wd.

    I still drive my 2010 f-250 xl 4x4 supercab with the old 5.4 and 5 speed. Regular maintenance and it finally lost the tranny at 250,000. Put a new one in and I have to say, it’s still my favourite truck and gets the call in most “truck” situations, even over my 2018 f150 xlt crew 5.0. Nothing beats a good work truck.

      5.4 sounds great and is a little slow, but has good torque for the displacement. Good combination although it's not the best tow engine. I had the 5.4 2v 5 speed in a E350 moving truck towing my Explorer 2,000 miles across the West. After I got used to it, it did ok but struggled up almost every mountain pass.

    Id absolutely love if all the big brands released new old school trucks. Not saying they gotta have wing windows and manual windows but just more basic. Do some old school 2 tone paint, old school gauges etc with some new school feel and reliability. Not everyone wants/needs an ipad for a stereo or all digital gauges. Sometimes you want a brand new reliable rig and you dont need/want the over the top digital everything soace ship like interior and the price tag that can get you a home on acreage in some states lol even base model rigs these days are so over the top and come with a hefty price tag.

Luxurious trucks are nice but I'd have one that could do it all - tow, haul, camp, and comfortably haul my family, for less than $55k. If I want a massage, I'll go to a place that does that. Android auto, backup camera, power windows and locks and keyless entry is all I need.

    Thanks Andre for reviewing an XL with the 6.8. Looking forward to hearing more about how it is working for everyone else. I just bought a 2023 F350 STX crew cab with the 6.8 and so far so good. Hoping the drive train proves to be durable ; I really like the truck and hope it’s around for a while.

    DAMN, $60K! I guess I should not be surprised but wow. My '16 F250 XL 6.2 cost $37K and I thought that was pretty shocking. No winch or crew cab or inverter power, but otherwise fairly similar; I do have the factory spray in bedliner.

      @@trevormangus7832 It's not greed if people continue to buy in the same volume and pay these prices. Now if Ford and GM saw F-150 and Silverado/Sierra sales down 50%, they'd have to make them more affordable. Ram sales are already taking a dive and their prices are getting even more expensive.

      Yes. Inflation is 20% or so the last few years. But Ford’s prices have increased over 40%! I was shocked by the price. Definitely I would lose the inverter, winch, extra cameras, etc. Then it would be more like 53k maybe? Ridiculous still but kinda doable.

    I like the truck quite a bit. The off-road capability is right in my wheel house.I might go with a different cable/bed configurations if available. Maybe go to the STX trim. The price is still the obstacle. I think all trucks are too expensive at this point in time. The interest rates are pretty high which makes buying right now prohibitive. Anyway, guess I'll buy used.

    Great now there are two 6.8L motors in a 3/4" ton ford chassis. I can only imagine all the wrong parts getting sent home. Owner of the OG 6.8 V10 in an '02 excursion. Love this truck! It even has the same 430 rear end. I'd keep the 430 and up to 285 meats on there for proper farm truck. Should come from the factory with the 5th wheel. All 3/4 ton and up should. Work surface needs a clipboard clip.
