    I’ve never been a Ford fan, but I must say that’s a really cool spec. they’ve put together there. Some real off-road capability without useless bling.

    You can pay 60k for midsize truck. You get a lot with this truck. Winch, on board power, bed liner, huge payload good towing and best console in the business. 👍

    Yup, that fuel economy is pretty much what all gasser 3/4 ton trucks get. I live at sea level in southern New England. I had a '96 F250 (8600 GVWR) with 5.8 and 4-speed E4OD weighing around 5500lb, which got 15-16 on the highway and 13 in overall mixed driving. Now driving a '16 F250 (9990 GVWR) with 6.2 and 6-speed, weighing around 6500lb, getting those same MPG numbers, which your '24 is also getting. They find small efficiency improvements in engine and transmission design then cancel them out with more weight and features.

    I work for a garbage company and we recently got a brand new 2024 f-350 regular cab with the 6.8 V8. I am super impressed with all the amenities that the lowest base model super duty is equipped with now days. The 6.8 engine in a 2wd one ton regular cab is a rocket ship and I still average 14.9 mpg in town. I really want to order the same truck as a crew cab 4wd.

      I agree with you on the carpet , the only positive with the carpet is the cab is definitely quieter with carpeting Andre said 70 was his noise cutoff in a truck , it would definitely been 70 or less with carpeting.

    I want to see more 6.8l testing for sure. Can’t wait to see how it does on the Ike with a travel trailer and see how it compares to the 7.3l. Will need to replace my 6.2l in like 5 years so these will be used by that time and perfect to move into without paying the crazy new truck prices.

    • @nathanmcdonald610
      @nathanmcdonald610 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Hopefully used truck prices will deflate some by then, I doubt it, but one can dream. These days if you're in the market for a truck it's almost better to go ahead and buy new with a full warranty and everything because the price differential between a solid used truck and a new truck isn't as big as you would imagine anymore.

    If I were looking at getting something for off road, camping, hunting, fishing, towing a camper/boat truck -this is it IMO. You didn’t mention if it had the extended range gas tank which would be essential.

      If you're referring to the 48 gallon tank, I believe it only comes on a crew cab with an 8 foot bed. At least that's what the specs say and I don't see a way of ordering it for other wheelbases.

    I still drive my 2010 f-250 xl 4x4 supercab with the old 5.4 and 5 speed. Regular maintenance and it finally lost the tranny at 250,000. Put a new one in and I have to say, it’s still my favourite truck and gets the call in most “truck” situations, even over my 2018 f150 xlt crew 5.0. Nothing beats a good work truck.

    • @302Mustang13
      @302Mustang13 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      5.4 sounds great and is a little slow, but has good torque for the displacement. Good combination although it's not the best tow engine. I had the 5.4 2v 5 speed in a E350 moving truck towing my Explorer 2,000 miles across the West. After I got used to it, it did ok but struggled up almost every mountain pass.

    Stop justifying their outrageous pricing! There is no justification for the price of these trucks. $60k for a stripped down truck? No reason they should cost that much especially the amount of trucks they produce. Its not about what you are getting, the mfg knows that people are stupid enough to buy them for that amount. They would be forced to reduce pricing if people would stop buying them. Say they are to costly so the mfg know that we are tired of paying so much for a pickup truck.

      I'd argue putting the powerboost on the 6.8... Would probably at least match the hp of the 7.3 and add some economy in a market that really doesn't care about mileage at all. Would be a serious advantage to those of us that rarely tow, but want the capability on occasion.

Do some old school 2 tone paint, old school gauges etc with some new school feel and reliability. Not everyone wants/needs an ipad for a stereo or all digital gauges. Sometimes you want a brand new reliable rig and you dont need/want the over the top digital everything soace ship like interior and the price tag that can get you a home on acreage in some states lol even base model rigs these days are so over the top and come with a hefty price tag.

    The winch isn’t that bad. Think, you gotta buy the winch, $1200 ish, buy a bumper, near factory replacement with winch mounts is $1200 - over $2000. I think it’s a higher end option so I place the value f the bumper around $2,000, so you pay minimally for the installation.
    That payload is more than fine for the base motor. It’s not a Godzilla, but it’s not a slouch either! If you are hauling, gas is ok, once toy get to towing frequently, you need the diesel. You get that extra $$ back when you sell it. It’s not such an expensive option when you look at it that way. It’s likely easier to sell. Maybe not Ram so much as of late,,,,.
    You can put together a really nice Dually SuperCab as a 6.8 XL truck. You can get polished inserts for the wheels if you like a shine (I do) and chrome bumpers, just enough to make it nice, in my opinion. Andrey has great taste in trucks as well, to each their own.
    If I decide to switch to a truck camper n the future, like I want to, I will be ordering a Dually, 4x4 XL, well optioned, and that will be what I haul my camper with! Get to where we want, drop the camper, hook back up to the trailer with my boat and fishing gear and head out from the base camp!! Life is good! 😊

Luxurious trucks are nice but I'd have one that could do it all - tow, haul, camp, and comfortably haul my family, for less than $55k. If I want a massage, I'll go to a place that does that. Android auto, backup camera, power windows and locks and keyless entry is all I need.
