Interesting reading the comments and how some people are like it’s a Sequoia and will never be used as an off roader . I have a 2019 Sequoia and it spends lots of time off road and loves it . I’ve had 6 Tacomas , 4 Tundras , and FJ-40 and hands down the Sequoia is my favorite. Looked at the new sequoias and am not sold on the way the cargo area is , with the hybrid system it does not lay down flat and storage is an issue. Thanks for sharing yours
Toms Sequoia is setup really nice and he actually uses it. It’s funny how people have to try and tell you your own business lol either way it’s a cool rig, just not for everyone.

You said it. This thing gets great smiles per gallon. To be fair, anything with big tires, tall suspension, and a loaded roof, even if hybrid, will get crap MPGs lol

The third row and crazy cargo area/shelf, are the most complained about parts of the new sequoia. This is the first video I’ve seen so far with it taken out, and it wasn’t mentioned once! Wth. How’d you take it out? What did you do about the batteries in the floor?
They weren’t removed. The rear seats were just folded down. I hope no one buys one of these thinking they’ll have a large 3rd row + excess rear storage. It’s simply not big enough to accommodate that type of use. That’s what suburbans are for. There’s always trade offs.
@@dillansgarage The sequoia is more than big enough to accommodate a decent cargo space, The sequoia, despite being longer than a Yukon by 1 inch, it has 20 percent less cargo room. I don't think people want excess cargo room as so much, as not accepting worst in class cargo space in a vehicle that cost 70k .
Depending on how you do it you can do it for less. It’s definitely beneficial when you’re one of the first to have a rig that companies want to use as a test platform for new gear.
@DillansGarage Great video overall. However there is a big miss at 20:43 where you talk about the exhaust but you completely fail to give us a good clip of the exhaust sound: Startup, idle, revs and some pulls.
Thanks for the feedback! Your right I’m always trying to balance run time with number of clips. So I just overlayed some exhaust sound under the dialogue. But it totally could’ve benefited from some dedicated clips to show the full range of sound.
I asked Tom and he said they’re not available from his original source anymore. Gotta google it or maybe try direct form Toyota. The grill is a Toyota OEM TRD Pro grill.

Hey Tom - awesome mods on your SR5 Premium. Are you considering installing the TRD Pro Fender Flares (with digital camo pattern and marker lights)? Also, I think the TRD Front Skid Plate and the red AFE front recovery Tow Hooks would add to the vehicle's personality.

That’s a relative question. If you need something bigger than the 4Runner then yes. If you want better agility, then the 4Runner is “better”. Certainly this sequoia has better, newer, features inside.
Yeah you don’t see many of them because not many people have $80K+ to drop on a SUV. I can’t understand for the life of me how people afford vehicles these days. I have a good job and a cheap sedan is $30K or $350/mo. For a lease. Mind boggling how expensive cars are now a days

I think people realize if they "have" to pay to get a new car, why not get a brand that will get you 200K+ miles. Great video btw 👍

@@dillansgarage I got a gen 3 Sequoia and my chocolate lab adores it. One time he threw a runaway tantrum and he went all the way to the SUV and stood at the back waiting to hop in. Giving him an extra 8 inches of vertical jump or a lump of hybrid battery to negotiate would not be acceptable 😟
Accept with more power, much more space, much larger interior space, and more capable offroad with bigger lift option. Sounds kinda like it’s actually very different from the rav4 unless you’re just talking about the design.
Your tire sizes are limited with stock wheels. If you install fat tires on stock wheels your inner sidewalk will rub the upper control arm. You could use spacers but that’s not as good at getting wheels with the correct offset.
Yet another ‘overlander’ review video with a guy who didn’t put his own money in the build. It’s hard to take anything seriously when the ‘review’ is of products that were given to the guy. I learned this lesson the hard way 6-7 years ago when I first got into this. Expensive lesson to never trust these guys being pimped by product manufacturers. Caveat emptor.
It’s a shame so many people don’t offer true reviews even when sponsored. This video wasn’t meant to be a review, it’s just a rig tour showing off what gear he has on the Sequoia.
I agree for the most part. I think the entire car industry is overpriced, and with Toyota’s I think you’re paying for the reliability instead of performance and features.

I like everything except the front grille. Hello Toyota, stop recycling old parts, get something innovative. This is the same reason the new Tundra was a disappointment. Learn from GM/GMC. Speaking as a Tundra loyal customer for 15yrs. Made the decision to jump ship over to GMC (2023 GMC AT4X AEV) after the new Tundra disappointment; waited years for that truck after multiple postponements from Toyota to facelift since last facelift in 2007. I literally saw my son grow from new born to 15yrs before Toyota decided to facelift the Tundra. This is unacceptable!
I appreciate your opinion. I really like the grille on the sequoia and don’t like where Chevy/GMC has gone with their design. I also wouldn’t compared Chevy and Toyota pickups. The tundra has never been a proper full size truck in terms of power. But hey, at least there’s something for everyone! Our daily drivers are an 06 4Runner and 88 suburban. I avoid all new vehicle haha

I literally saw my son grow from new born to 15yrs before Toyota decided to facelift the Tundra. This is unacceptable!
I appreciate your opinion. I really like the grille on the sequoia and don’t like where Chevy/GMC has gone with their design. I also wouldn’t compared Chevy and Toyota pickups. The tundra has never been a proper full size truck in terms of power. But hey, at least there’s something for everyone! Our daily drivers are an 06 4Runner and 88 suburban. I avoid all new vehicle haha

я бы предпочел, чтобы он в десять раз был поменьше и не сенсорный. А может даже чтобы вообще не было его, или он при желании убирался. И чтобы климат включить не нужно было целый день в нем разбираться, и пол часа по монитору пальцем возить. Мне нужен комфорт и безопасность за рулем, а не отвлекающий и слепящий меня в ночи монитор с перспективой вообще из-за руля меня выкинуть и виртуальный шлем на меня одеть.@@dillansgarage
