What's the temperature inside that plastic hut... And don't forgot to take out the plastic from there THAT may cause difficulties for animals and birds
This shelter is excellent both for privacy as well as heat retention. And safety also. There is no way any grizzly bear could get through that plastic wrap.
Bushcraft is essentially about survival. The ideal situation isn't always how it happens. If you end up in a survival situation and you somehow lost/broke your tools for creating shelter, but you found a roll of plastic wrap, this is how you survive. It might not look exactly like this but I'm sure it will be better than nothing.
Great watching you build your pallet wrap shelter. Food looked good enough to eat! Amber enjoys her time with you, trying to help with the digging etc. Thanks for sharing. Take care
I want to see you cook some Carolina Fish Stew. Fry 2 bacon. Leave grease in pot. Cube 2 potatoes with some diced onion and fry in grease. Add one can pink salmon with juice. Add crumbled bacon. That was great. The thing I would do as well and this would be more for the colder weather is.. cut two upright timbers per tree trunk. I gotta cover my windows in lavender and sage oil to get them to stay away.. plus plant a bunch around my house.
We did a sauna in the woods near the lake. We build it in a similar way as you build your cabin. Then we had a metal basket with rocks on the campfire (to warm it) and then we took it (rocks) into this cabin thing.
Its anything but a great concept... More like a cool idea, but far from a great concept. Insects and animals like snakes can easily get in. I really see no point in this over a tent...
Genius! LOL ... never thought of this! :D Just one note, enclosed wood burners do not emit CO2s directly into the enclosed space, neither use oxygen directly from the space. Many people are confused about this but enclosed wood burners emit ALL CO2 through the chimney and ONLY use oxygen from the air already inside the wood burner. They simply pull air into the burning chamber (only lowering air pressure inside the tent, not decreasing actual oxygen content), use ONLY the oxygen inside the burner and emit ALL CO2 through the chimney pipes. Only you - and your dog - actually use oxygen from and generate CO2 inside the tent so yes it's a good idea to still keep a hole for air exchange but it can be smaller. One intake hole is enough because your wood burner is already pulling air in and emitting it through the chimney so they contribute for your air exchange. You do not need a hole by the roof, just a small hole on the bottom as fresh air intake.
For the door you should get the Zipper that they sell at Home Depot. You basically stick it Onto any plastic surface zip it down cut it with a knife or in your case your your axe And then you have a door you can zip up and down as needed
What's the temperature inside that plastic hut... And don't forgot to take out the plastic from there THAT may cause difficulties for animals and birds
Doesn’t always need to be a survival or stuck situation. Just a cool shelter for him to hang out on the weekends and getaway. Pretty cool space done on the cheap
Five rolls of Saran Wrap just because you want to hang out on the weekend isn’t cheap. You have to throw it away after one use! Get some tarps and rope! Those you can use over and over for years
If you ever decide to do this again you should put double posts at the corner of your shelter so that after you do the first go around you can go around a second time on the posts that are like an inch further out. that will give you an insulation layer on your outside walls with not much more effort.
@@jasonjason9866 Right I have a greenhouse made out of Aluminium frame and plastic panels it's highly lightweight and different from the old style steal frame with glass panels. I also have a Polytunnel. Your tents made of plastic so If you dont like plastic trash them buy a waxed cotton tent.

Any time you could make a pizza in a dutch oven. Oil pan, stretch out the dough, add more oil to the top, or use sauce. Season the crust with garlic & onion powder and parm. Bake it up and top it with a balsamic reduction with other common seasonings to taste.

These shelters are really interesting. I just imagine a wolf sitting there at night wondering what sort of magic force field is keeping him away from the tastey treat sleeping on the cot.
I've actually thought of doing this. I'm sure the temperature retention will be excellent down to even the single digits. They have silver tape used in HVAC that is heat resistant u could use to cover up the whole for the wood stove.
If you're going through the trouble of framing, just use tarps. Stronger, reusable, and with a little more privacy. At best this plastic wrap will be in a landfill before long. (At worst, pieces rip and blow away to be lost in the woods.)
@@notme222 this technique works best for tiny emergency shelters. You don't need very much plastic wrap to enclose an area just slightly larger than your body and gear.
@@pscbs And I have see that sooooo many times on youtube yet, there is a shockingly big amount of people who did this already, and it is just plastic waist. :-(

My god! We hate the plastics, everything is building by plastics and now.... I see a survival man using It in the forets. I can,t understand the goal. Sorry, its crazy. It makes me laught.
Good idea - just worry a bit about the roof having no support in a downpour and your wrap slowly coming apart overnight leaving you rather soggy. If not rafters then, whatever could be devised to reduce the amount of give in the available surface area in the wrap to reduce pooling and the inevitable weight that opens up and weakens the bonds between the edges of sheets - it might be making a roof from several overlapping panels or just make the roof pitch steeper? You could double insulate if you thought it was necessary by doubling the studs on the walls - but perhaps its not all that necessary. The only other thing I could think of as an improvement for your excellent idea is the flue requires a very light non combustible and heat resistant flange as it exits the plastic envelope ..not sure what that could be - but I'm thinking on it.
Good Point sir ! Since it is "Earth Day" I thought to drop a comment. Plastic wrap is not good for the environment. I do see this as an excellent video. Perhaps combine some tips from this with reusable materials. Love the cooking part and the dog is a KING.
@@chefgiovanni Question is , is there really anything good for the environment nowadays? I mean hell just look into the "cooling cloud" bill gates wants to create to cover the earth... That absolutely can not be good for the environment at all.
I built a lodge on Elk Mt. In New Mexico in 2000 with 4 square trees using sisal and weaving pine branches and scythed grass and covering the walls with saris and blankets and a post in the center with tarp roof Came home one day and free range cattle were munching on the grass in the walls. Loved sleeping in it. Red headed woodpecker would wake us in morning.
The sooner this trend for non recyclable materials being used goes away the better. That wrap ends up in landfill forever. Perhaps a bush crafter in the future can dig it up and make use of it.

The antichrist sea beast of Revelation points to the office of the papacy, the Popes of Rome, who controlled the Roman beast for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 AD.
Daniel 7:25 says “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” The Popes of Rome spoke against Elohim and proclaimed to be God. They reigned for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 AD. during which they caused tens of millions of saints to be killed.
The Pope’s title is Vicar of Christ, which in Latin is ‘Vicarius Filii Dei’, and equates numerically to the number 666

Add one can of New England clam chowder. Season with black pepper, sea salt, and.old bay seasoning. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.
That was great. The thing I would do as well and this would be more for the colder weather is.. cut two upright timbers per tree trunk. After you wrap the trunks as you did you can put a second insulating layer buy using the eight uprights as a spacer on each trunk. Great job, that was fun and so simple. Thanks.. Subbed
Double wall construction is always warmer, or cooler in hot weather

We did a sauna in the woods near the lake. We build it in a similar way as you build your cabin. Then we had a metal basket with rocks on the campfire (to warm it) and then we took it (rocks) into this cabin thing.
Those trees were spaced just perfectly for this. That would be hard to find in most places
It's called landscaping! Just be creative!!
Building a forest house using plastic is very beautiful and simple but also very unique. I like it and am impressed with it, thank you.

Genius! LOL ... never thought of this!
Thanks Tibor 🙏

If you ever decide to do this again you should put double posts at the corner of your shelter so that after you do the first go around you can go around a second time on the posts that are like an inch further out. that will give you an insulation layer on your outside walls with not much more effort.

Finally, my many years of wrapping pallets with this stuff will finally come in handy
Lol reminded me of my warehouse days
👍

The sooner this trend for non recyclable materials being used goes away the better. That wrap ends up in landfill forever. Perhaps a bush crafter in the future can dig it up and make use of it.
