Switch 2 Isn't Coming Out Anytime Soon

Nintendo just released their fiscal quarter report and the sales of the Switch are still going strong. Do they even have a reason to release a new console?

Last year people said the “Switch 2” was coming this year, before that the “Switch Pro” was inevitable.
personally I never thought the Switch successor was coming anytime soon. If you listen to Nintendo, doesn’t seem they’re trying to rush new hardware out, like the Internet wants us to believe. “Switch 2” news is mostly comprised of rumors and speculation, wishful thinking is not confirmation. Just be patient, enjoy what Nintendo’s offering now, new hardware will come eventually.

I mean Nintendo isn’t really relaible when it comes to rumors they will deny any and everything.
And then announce the same exact thing next week
They really value the control over their information.
And as of the growing number of switch user , i think it’s safer for Nintendo to release the new switch because the marquet for the OG switch has probably reached Saturation
Anyone who’s gonna buy one has most probably bought a switch by this point in time ..

Software sales are up, but hardware sales are down. Everyone who wanted a switch has one, but games are still selling. They can put out a switch 2 and continue to support switch over the next year or two.

If they have shown in the september direct big games and not remake, remake and more remakes, If they shown metroid prime 4 or the rumored donkey kong I would believe you, but no, It was just mid tier games and remakes, clearly we are in transition, and they are saving the big stuff for the next hardware.

I agree fully. 👍 I don't understand the -veity and pessimism of these people who make these sort of ''oooh don't expect Switch 2 till 2028 folks , tru$T me!1'' In the end, it wouldn't be totally awful if Switch 2 didn't release next Year because it means We're just getting an even more scaled and Updated system by the time it does eventually release. *But* it's poor timing & business sense to skip to 2025 and allow rivals their 5th year to Unreal 5 engine access!

I don't understand this eagerness to bring new consoles, man the Switch works, what are you going to put on the new console, graphics? It works the way it is, there is already a gigantic base, if they launch a new console it would be cool if they did like the new 3ds , improvements to the joycons, bigger battery, internal HD, higher resolution.... That's all, it's crazy to imagine that out of nowhere Nintendo will announce a new console, even more so if it's not backwards compatible, because there's a space limit on Switch cartridges, I think Nintendo is doing the right thing by going against the competition and trying to create games. Mario Wonder is an example that the console handles the games it proposes very well, and let's be honest, those who buy Nintendo want Nintendo games, the vast majority play heavier games on other systems, in reality it's more common to see people which has Nintendo + another console.

Also, geopolitically there is a chip war going on. High tech chips can no longer be sent to China by executive order and if I were Nintendo I'd want to stick with the most reliable source of chips they could get for the next year or two. The newer cutting edge chips are always the hardest supply chain wise.

True or not im not all to eager for a new console anytime soon- consoles are expensive isnt it better to have as much time with it as possible and get your moneys worth of play.
and unlike past consoles where even if its backwards compatible you could continue the same save file over on your new device you cant with a switch (Not unless you want to port your whole account off the old switch either way still only way to continue those specific saves on one device- probably my only issue with the switch I miss having the save on the cartridge/disk)
I do know and accept a new console with updated hardware is bound to happen eventually but certainly doesnt feel soon, maybe i could believr end of 24' bog holiday season release at earliest but probably not.
Speculation can be fun but like wouldnt having it come out sooner be a bad thing?? Dont you want them to take as much time to release something good

You clearly do not understand how to go next gen, you don't wait till sales have completely dried up and nobody is interested in your product that is why so many Nintendo platforms struggle to fail, you go next gen while you still are selling resalable numbers

This 100%. I swear, people forget that Nintendo's console transitions over the past 2 gens have been pretty bizarre in the industry. The Gamecube and Wii U weren't very successful to begin with, hence the tiny sales numbers by the time the following consoles were out.
When people use the continues high sales as evidence for this kind of thing, I always like to refer to the 3DS. Were the 3DS models and major releases really struggling by the time New 3DS and 2DS were announced? No, not really. There's more to this than raw sales numbers. That doesn't guarantee new hardware, but it's not unreasonable to suspect it in the near future
