Yes, the next switch has always been on the back of my mind whenever they release a new game. Maybe the switch 2 will be something like the 3ds for the ds, it won't flop, but it won't be anywhere neer as successful as the previous console.
New Pokemon generations never launch on a new console. B2W2 were on DS in 2012. USUM were on 3DS in 2017. They always launch on the old hardware. Technically, they could do it, but I doubt it.
Much of the microchips in the world are manufactured in Taiwan, and China has been getting antsy in the region as they think the island belongs to them.
The Switch is about as powerful as a PS3. The current Switch struggles really badly running AAA games which work well for PC, Xbox and PS5. So a Switch 2 is badly needed. Just like what Sony did with the PS4 games when they gave them a boost to look like PS5 games. People want to see games like Pokemon Scarlet / Violet and Zelda (both TOTK and BOTW) to run at at least 2K resolution at a constant 60 FPS.
I think it'll be a bit more complex than simply "8th Gen power". Maybe on paper it has those specs, but processing techniques have evolved since then so that more can be done with lower spec stuff. Look at the Xbox Series S as an example. It's technically less powerful than an Xbox One X, but it can run stuff the One X cannot.
The WiiU probably flopped because Nintendo pursued causual gamers with the Wii, and put off their core audience with lazy ports and over tutorialization in first party titles. Casual gamers moved on to cell phone games.

I’m very curious to see what Nintendo will do to try to keep the momentum of the Switch going into the next generation.
As long as they keep it portable, it WILL sell.
For sure. I think the Virtual Boy would even sell if they released it today. Maybe not that great, but better than what it did back then.
The C-Dawg TH-cam channel is back
Yessir!
They have to figure out how to beat themselves. The switch is shadow link
Nintendo did TOO well this generation
Least it’ll make em work harder and come up w something crazy.
