I am insanly impressed with my ID4 pro edition model year 2024! i had 550km at 100% charge yesterday! and that is from driving at work both highway and countryroads!!!
Just bought a used 2021 ID.4 Pro RWD. I honestly do not know why people complain about this car. Yes, it is not perfect, but price/value is perfect. Especially for a used one. SW 3.2 is OK, but I mostly use Apple CarPlay which connects automatically and wirelessly. Here in Switzerland I have an average consumption of 13-14kWh which is nuts. Easily over 400km real range on 77 battery. The Software could be better and the car could have all the upgrades they did for the 2024 version, but honestly even the early cars do not deserve the bad image.
With some Hindsight it would have been so much better if vw had wait a little longer with this car. It's much better then 3 years ago with the introduction. They are definitely on the right way. Nice review Bjorn. If they manage to control the battery degradation it's a great option in the EV market.
Changes VW did now to the 'refreshed' models are the ones VW should release cars to start with. I think right now pricing [depending where you at] isn't best compared what you can get in the same price range. I like car, but don't really like its price.
The main fault was diess and the designer. They started multiple software roadmap before the first car got public. The hardware was reduced to a low cost processor.... but at least they fix most parts after 1000 days.
@@Francis-yc9nc I used to have an ID4 First edition. I was so disappointed that I sold it within 2 years. After seeing this I'm considering to take a look at it again.
I think that is not how evolution works, if VW have waited they would not have had any experience with the ID.4 cars and would have no real life usage experience they could use to figure out what needs to be improved.
More efficiency runs please! I live on an island and your Kona Electric drive for over 24 hours was exactly what I wanted to see as I wondered should I get an electric car in Mombasa, checked my car data and my Mazda 2 (Demio) said average speed 13kmph 🤦 that’s a yes then. Just imagining the savings now. Thank you for your service 🫡 and congrats on Axel!
@@kipdennis3796 yeah I was really considering one but thinking of trading in my Mazda for a Nissan Leaf, save up then trade in and get a Tesla Model 3 for the efficiency and performance. And create content to popularise and educate about EVs and EV ownership whilst lobbying Mombasa County Government 🤞🏾
I wonder what it could do on the more narrow twisty county roads here west. I had a trip yesterday of roughly 180km and ended up below 111 Wh/km in my e-Golf :P Average speed was quite low though...
Interesting. Last year made a degradation drive from Berlin to Köln with my e-tron 55 Sportback with 19“ Aeros. After 536km with 40km range left i reach Ionity. Average speed was 78km/h. It was a very long ride but nearly 600km are possible if you drive an „old“ 55 e-tron carefull and constant. No hypermiling, always with aircondition on and secure distance on the Autobahn. 14,3kw/100km shows the display.
Maybe you should TEST a few more electric cars without air conditioning, that might give a better result, and then we can see what it costs to drive with air conditioning A trip of 10-15 km with the aircon on full max and we can see how much it uses :-) And with an average speed of approx. 67 km/h, many electric cars will drive much further than on the motorway at approx. 100 km/h. Good Video :-)
Not bad, ev's almost caching diesel cost efficiency per kilometer, wonder where the cap for kwh/100 km will settle with technology. Also holy crap that biker at 12:58
I bought the first generation ID.4 - with all equipment available - in March '21. I have never been as disappointed with a car - or a car company. So many ridiculous issues with the car - and so many broken promises regarding software updates from VW. Sold it a year later and bought a Kia EV6 GT-Line instead. Love that car🙂. The newest generation of ID cars seems like a much better product. A pitty it took more than three years to make absolutely necessary improvements.
@@verygoodbrother there is one good reason for Tesla fan boys: in every study Tesla buyers keep buying Tesla electric cars after their first one. Every other brand has DOUBLE the chance of people going back to petrol/benzin/gas ICE cars
Teslas are outdated nowadays. Volkswagen EVs even includes AI in their very good voice control, has an augmented reality HUD and also charges better and has similar efficiency than Teslas. And we are not even talking about the premium western manufacturers and chinese EVs which offer 800V architecture in the price range of 40-60k even in western markets. Why would anyone buy a Tesla at this point? Even their charging network is dog slow in comparison.
You're very lucky not to have much traffic over there, especially driving below the speed limit. If you tried that here in Australia you would seriously get abused by a lot of other drivers, especially trucks! Probably not so much on multilane motorways, but on single lane highways you can't drive below the limit or you would get honked at. Too many impatient drivers here.
When I follow the speed limit (on the speedomoeter), I get yelled at. When I went 17 km/h over the speed limit on the motorway at night with 110 km/h speed limits (going at 127 km/h), I get yelled at. Great.

Can you make a video for ID 4 pro life max 286ch s’il vous plait ?
Nice consumption numbers for a car in this class. So, are VW now releasing cap's with "Make ID.4 Great Again" ?

I hope you get to test a G580 in Norway :)
Do this test with the new Kona Electric please
High temp with A/C vs no fans in milder temp is the last big mystery in the ev world, you must do a test somehow ;)
Similar to how Leaf's in a mild climate survive without a battery thermal management system.
No Fans is better than Only Fans! :D

Didn’t see that first… Phew, a close shave 🫣
It's good to see Volkswagen improve their cars. Still, a shame MEB came to market in the state it initially was.

I have an EV6 yes it is brilliant. Just bought the Id4 4motion, as a second car, looks like they have fixed all the issues finger crossed.
Is there a rear-wheel drive Tesla Model Y LR available in your market? According to WLTP 600km range - it may be worth checking. Greetings from Poland
What does the Qi button mean on the main display
Die you mean the Symbol in the Display? It show that you smartphone is charging in the wireless charger.

Does "no AC" mean that there is also no battery cooling capability?
There is still a pasive cooling of the battery but not that efficient. You can see in 1000km challenge.
Was there any 100 km/h driving in this test or was it all 80km/h?
Max 80

All in the vain of "If the punishment for breaking a law is only a fine, then that law is only for the poor".
The moment you drive from Sweden over the boarder into Norwegian.
