As a German and a Porsche owner, it has a completely different design from Porsche in general. Of course Porsche is cool, but Koreans have a good sense of design. The interior is completely Korean style. This is the feeling I felt when I first went to Seoul. They are living in the future completely. It's very surprising that a country with a working population of about 6 million people is developing such a nice car.

Interior quality looks superb, not so sure of the outer Porsche design copy, looks fab though..

The styling of this car is like Porsche 911 from front and back....but it looks different from many places....I hope this car comes to India and compete with Kia EV6....front interior looks superb...
For all purposes, it is an EV6 with slightly better materials. Even the motor is the same. The seats and dashboard look identical to an EV6.
@@jputhenv I think this car looks far far better than kia EV6 in terms of looks....can't say much about engine as of now....overall a very good package and tough competition to kia EV6....
@@foxtrail975 I drive an EV6 in US, but I don't have access to an Ioniq 6. Please check out this Canadian review which includes a test drive. When I compare the insides, I see that much of the console, displays and seats are taken from the EV6. There are cosmetic differences, such as the side mirror (video) placed inside. The horse-power and engine mentioned in the Canadian review is same as EV6 AWD (320 HP). The weird door handle also comes from Kia EV6.

Another difference between Ioniq 6 and EV6: The shifter has been moved to the steering wheel column in Ioniq 6 and the door/window controls have been moved to the space vacated by the shifter. I am also concerned that the trunk space in Ioniq 6 is going to be smaller than that in EV6. I think some folks may like this more luxurious touring car with an interesting exterior design.
@@jputhenv Just because you own an Ev6 doesn't mean that it is better than ioniq6....I feel I like ioniq6 far better than ev6....you are here not to prove your point that ev6 is better neither am I....everybody has his or her own taste and preferences....period!!

When Hyundai first came out ya couldn't have paid me to get one but wow, have they come a long way. Still don't hold value nor are reliable as a Toyota but comparatively speaking they've vastly improved. IMO they aim to dominate the EV market and this Ioniq 6 is stunning, the outside is sleek with clean lines, looks luxury and the interior might be one of the coolest I've ever seen, can't call them side mirrors so I'll just say the side cameras are amazing, wonder if objects are still closer than they appear, cheers.
I’d suspect these Ioniq cars could hold their value pretty well considering their charging tech is ahead of the infrastructure right now and they seem pretty well built, at least for up to 5/10 years. A used Ioniq 5 will be a pretty valuable commodity in a few years, for a used car.
@@kramersolinsky5841 I believe you're right, the resale on EV's is almost equivalent to new right now, that will change somewhat as the used market becomes more saturated and the prices come down closer to pre19 but they will hold value far more than combustion. I think it will be a juggling act though regarding when to sell with limited time/km's on the batteries, them being insanely expensive to replace, cheers.
@@hou942 That's provided that manufacturing rates recover to the point where new EV's can actually flood the market enough to push existing EV's into the 'used' market, which I don't see happening any time soon.
If anything I think EV's are just a 'cutting edge' product, and will be for a while, so older models will become delinquent within 5+ years, but these Ioniqs are at least built with future-proof charging times? Performance seems great too, for the price, so even if they lose value I don't think it'll be anything catastrophic.
The old adage of a car losing half its value the second you drive it off the lot is just not true anymore.

No fan at all of Bose, but seeing as I wouldn't be buying one of these under any conditions (any car I buy must have a rear hatch), that's no problem for me.
I do like the fact that Hyundai and KIA now seem to have a clear idea of where their design language is going; Hyundai seem to be paler interior colours (which I think look far better than KIA's dark colours) and bold exteriors and maintaining the pixel theme in these cars, and a more "friendly" ride as opposed to KIA's more aggressive and sporting look.
It does seem difficult to fault the company atm. The only thing that seems to be tripping them up is that damned price. However, it seems that every EV maker thinks that they can squeeze the last drop out of us, so that's nothing out of the ordinary.
I'm still not sure what my next car will be, other than electric. I'm currently favouring the Ioniq 5, but it could equally be an MG 4 Performance. I'm even tempted by the MG 4 LR, but I just reckon that 8 sec 0-60 may be a bit slow when tested against the opposition.
