I love watching your tutorials. As a retired digital arts teacher, I find your teaching throughly understandable, interesting and doable. So many artists are good artists, and poor teachers. You have the gift of both. I’m new to watercolor and have learned so much from your tutorials. Please please keep your wonderful tutorials coming. God bless you for sharing your amazing talent.

Good morning sir, it is really great to see how paint tell us what to do next, and the landscapes are very beautiful indeed. In this particular exercise I saw the reflections of the trees in water, whether a river or a lake...but you left the paint running on on side. That is a choice I guess. Thank you so much for the videos, very useful and relaxing like one of your landscapes

I found this so interesting - I am a spontaneous painter - seldom have much of a plan first, nor do I make a color chart or anything like that. Can't wait to try this - I was expecting you to do water - making the lower half reflections. Loved this - thank you.

Steve, when you added those rocks, the painting really came alive. I have enjoyed watching you progress in your skill. Your tenacity is inspiring! Thank you to you and Strathmore for these videos! So kind! I feel now as if I can reasonably try this form of painting with some success. God’s blessings!

This is another wonderful painting, thanks for continuing this process and I know I just need to do more and I will take your advise and just not take it personally when it is not as fabulous as your creations! Am I the only one who saw a big bird (belly and legs) into this round thing he found disturbing ? And then, he worked on it and it looked like a horse... And I see the face of a little boy down on the left side, looking at the horse with sunglasses on. Very interesting tutorial series, thank you !

Hey Steve something I'd like to try is using the spontaneous technique on sections of the painting versus the whole thing. For instance, areas that are left after painting a strong center of interest. Sometimes I have a bit of trouble deciding what should go in those areas - spontaneous painting could provide an interesting way to fill in the rest of compositions. Thanks for developing this idea for us!

Steve this has been the most exciting and informative series on spontaneous landscapes. The main thing I will take away from it is the water control ... when you bleed away the edges there is hardly any water ... I would normally flood that area to blend it out!?
