I don't lock my van at night, when it's on the drive. Got sick of recidivist scallies breaking in and finding it empty. Was costing me a fortune in lock replacement/repair. Mind you I did install a drop post and the wife's car is parked in front with full steering lock on. If her car is broken into, it'll roll into either the fence or the house. Takes 5 minutes every morning and night to load/empty and stash everything safely away in my lock up; which is like fort knox.
I have a welding company and wanted the largest Van Vault for hand tools so bought the Van Vault 4 as i assumed with 2 x 5 lever locks it would be their best product but its got a few flaws, The lid doesn't open far enough as the Gas struts prevent it so i'm gonna cut them off and reposition them, the lid doesn't overlap the sides which means some scumbag can get a bar under it and prise it upwards so i'm gonna fabricate some sides for the lid, I thought it would be their premium model i wish i had bought the Armourguard equivelant. £500 for a VanVault and i need to modify it !!! :((((
Had a few incidents of vans and lock-ups getting broken into over the years, half the time the police don't even investigate and crime numbers are issued over the phone. I missed signing the partition but it won't charge anything anyway. Just hope the little darlings don't hurt themselves while breaking into your vehicle or they could claim for injury, its a messed up country. Great videos by the way.
Thanks pal! Luckily I've never had any issue but that doesn't mean I'm not at risk. Sadly even at this time of unemployment we are still seeing break ins.
Nice review , I have been saying for years now about how easy it is to break into any van in less than a minute in most cases and van manufacturers just don't seem to give a shit about making there vehicles more secure , they seem to enjoy fitting the latest gadgets and sat navs and all the bells and whistles and I think they should really start making vehicles with security as the number one priority and forget about all the other crap , I've been done and I know a lot of other guys that have been robbed , I just wish I could catch one of these robbing scumbags in the act.....nuff said , I signed the petition months ago but I don't see any point really as no one gives a shit......cheers mate.......👍
Thanks for your comment, it's sad to think that vehicles designed to transport expensive equipment or products completely lack modern day security features. I'm sure if a van was on the market which advertised secure solutions if would be a prime investment for each and every tradesperson in the UK.
I have it in a raised shelf, this is so I can lay sheet material underneath it for transport and I have it fixed to the shelf. So it's not going anywhere fast 👍
Vw transporters t5 model have good security as standard but i still installed deadlocks plus i have van vault, the idea is to slow them down make it as hard as possible, I feel sorry for people who are buying new renault ford peugot which only need the handle ripped of to get to unlock terrible cheap designs
How to fix it down through the chasis is a key bit of info that's missing. I've checked TH-cam and online and I can't see any advice anywhere on how to fix through .
That thing looks like a glorified file cabinet to me. We have these weather guard branded "pack rats" here in the states that are 1/8 inch thick steel heavy duty sliding drawers that hold up well but the things are wildly overpriced and weigh an absolute ton.
Just got mine van broken into..all my tools gone...now I'm getting bow arrows to hopefully shoot a thieve in next episode...I will terminate the life of the thieve or change his live for ever with the arrow. My law my right
Such a terrible experience to go through! The more people share their experiences with theft, the more real and prepared we can all be for whatever scum is around the corner.
My apologies to Van Vault but unfortunately they are not worth a penny i have had mine broken into twice, once by me as the key snapped in half (took me 1 minute and im no lock smith) and once by the scum bags thieves. Either dont wate your money on one or Van Vault please make a better design.

What’s the full measurement when the lid is open? From floor to the top...?
Lets hope its something you never need

Hiya mate , how did u get on fixing the vault to the van floor , ive just bought two sliders to go at the back and im dreading it lol

Had my tools stolen today. £700 worth at least. Gutted. One if these is much needed
sorry to hear that dude, it makes me wince when I see unsecure tools in vans. Hope you get it sorted and look at buying one of these.
Bastards. What city

T5 standard locks on sliding door was a doddle for the fuckers to break in. All they used was a screwdriver by the look of it
How do I secure it to the floor in a vw caddy ?
Wouldn't know personally, but I'm sure it's possible. Usually fixed down through into the chassis
I welded m14 flange nuts to the floor sprayed them white then i bolt to this good if you want to remove it but you can use a rivnut if no welding used
