    Every night I take about £3k worth of tools out the van, great video Nick.

    Thanks so much for this video, it was an absolute godsend when I was installing a van vault for the first time today. I was very nervous about drilling holes through the floor of my van, but your video helped me to do the job and do it properly (including using self tappers where it's not possible to put bolts through). Brilliant!

    Great video! Had no idea how them bolts worked so I did the same and just screwed my van vault to the floor

    Nice. Worth spraying the newly drilled holes with some underseal or something. Those transits will always rust. You can also get these fittings called rivnuts which is used for sheet metal much better than those self tappers.

    Hi Nick,
    Quality video...
    I have just bought 3 of the new style and put them in the side door opening of the van (same as your van). This works well as I don’t have to climb in and keep the space in front of them clear.
    I think it works well...contemplated putting where u have but went with my placement. Let me know if u want me to email a pic.
    Keep up the good work (I’m not even a sparks but enjoy watching)

      James Blake cheers bud and I had the old one there for a few days but I use both back and sliding all the time so for now I’m quite happy where they are 👌 my rubber matting for the floor turned up today so looking forward to getting that in 👍

    Van vaults are essential when it comes to protecting your livelihood. As others have mentioned, try and get one key for both vaults 👍

    I reckon a locksmith could change out those locks for ones that are keyed the same, then you only need one key for them both

    • @xCupressocyparis
      @xCupressocyparis 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think you'd need a locksmith, the padlocks can be removed by undoing a couple of bolts on the inside. You can order keyed alike disc locks online to replace them. 👍

    Maybe you could have drilled some new holes a bit further into the box to miss the underside frame , would of been stronger than self taps...👍

      I was thinking a couple of washers under each fixing hole or a thin sheet of ply under the whole thing could have been a good idea.
      But with 2 vaults you're always going to have your most used gear in the top one and your rare use life saver tools in the lower one, which will inevitably be blocked closed in a few weeks by surplus gear on the floor of the van!

    Do you get any rattles from it? I am an auto locksmith looking for something to store the diagnostics in and also mount a key cutting machine on top.

    So sad and a poor reflection on the state of our country that one has to take such precautions now. In the old days it was just enough to keep any valuables out of sight. Sad times
