Still getting great results with Trend Skeleton Hinge Jig
มุมมอง 65K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I got a new camera for some upcoming projects and content, let me know what you think about the quality in the comments below. Its the Canon G7X mark 1. Swinging doors becomes second nature when you have the right tools and knowledge. Using the Trend Skeleton hinge jig and Makita Cordless 1/4" router is my favourite tool duo. This video is a little snippet of setting it up and using the jig but...

im going to be replacing 6 doors in my house soon cant afford to pay a guy $500 a door to hang it so im here im a pretty good handy man and i get the jig if you could show us how to replace the jams and frame im gonna use stained pine wood for a nice touch thank Man
Many thanks for that, a clear and concise no BS review, just what I was after
Does it convert slope to horizontal distance?
Thank you! Very simple and effective idea
Excellent job. The Trend jig is high quality and on my wish list for tools. Maybe Christmas!
Terrific. Thanks mate.
Hi Phil. Thanks for the video. Very informative and easy to follow. I made one up, fitted a door out with the jig. Looks good! Thanks for your help. All the best, Ronnie
Can you tell me about mikita Table saw
Very honest and hands-on review, thanks mate!
Thanks for the review, but as you say heavy saw requires a heavy duty saw stand, you got the lightest and cheapest one here for one of the biggest saws. Makita recommends the WST01N for this saw. I definately agree on the wheels though, its still an expensive stand so rubber better placed wheels would be appropriate I think.
Thanks
Cracker that is, subbed! 🎉
Nice review Phil. I especially enjoyed the embedded nail experiment! I do beleive it is pronounced "Froyd." Also what you were calling "gulleys" are technically called "gullets" and they are really important for material removal to help keep the blade moving forward, faster and reducing burning. Combo blade (higher TPI) gullets are usually shallower than rip blade (lower TPI) gullets because the combo blade is designed as much for cutting wood fibers which usually produces much smaller chips (also taking it longer to make rip cuts). Rip blade gullets tend to be deep because the blades are designed to "chip" away at the wood producing larger chipsmaking and making faster cuts than combo or crosscut blades. Last thought on blade thickness (kerf). I prefer to use thicker kerfed blades on my table and job site saws - they are more stable with less wobble than the thin kerf variety, especially on deeper cuts. Thicker kerf blades also seem to remove material more efficiently than thin kerf blades allowing the blades to run smoother and cooler. Keep em coming...
Are you sure its not pronounced Fr-oy-d? Like sigmund freud? 😂
Thank you so much, God bless you, brother
L class isn’t for site mate, should be using M class
Nice but it only holds metric doors. Well done !
Make one for £5-10 Vs buy plastic ones for £50 👍🏻
Thanks for the video, but when cutting on the table saw, push the piece through that is in between the fence and blade, the cutoff is of secondary importance and if pushing that part of the piece through, there is potential for kickback.
great video!!
Just what I needed, Phil, to fit up a new exterior door. Cheers mate 👍 Bert in Oz
Can’t go wrong with oval n hammer
The fire extinguisher got me 😂
How about make some content rather then just trying to push sponsored products? Make content then put the sponsors in them
Hi mate, thanks for taking the time to comment. Building sites are not just filled with tools, they also are filled with workers who rely on products like these to keep them in action without health issues. I'm sorry that your having a bad Monday and you're upset about hand soap, maybe you should have a look at ScrubbGlobal.com and find some effective products to help keep your hands as smooth and as clean as your brain. Best of luck!
Excellent review, buying one based off your video… thanks for sharing
Last 3 all incorrect.😢
Great review. Thanks
Can you actually use it with guided bearing router bit instead of coping collet?
Excellent blades, can't go wrong if you purchase this brand.
lol nice
Great job. Simple but effective 👍
Is that an AlleyCat board on the wall?
Very well spotted! Handed down by my uncles, to my dad, then to me.
great content. Thank you!
Hi i have same level, do you have sound when your level is not leveled?
No audio sound on this model. If the lasers aren't on a surface capable of leveling, the laser will blink as an alert
Thank you, cheers.
What if Ur door thickness is different every time
Good Review, answered a lot of questions that I had.
Thank You so much ❤
What’s a cu-er?
Thsnks for the review. I would recommend that you buy the more advanced saw stand. Your saw is clearly way to big for this stand.
Irritating background music
Great video! I've been looking to purchase to measure for some front garden railings and gate. Is it suitable for use outdoors for this small job or purely indoor? Thanks.
Most video has not explained everything about the Hing jig they assume that every one is a carpenter what about the button that slides in and out
Awesome and simple!
Been looking at the new 155 d handle to be honest. I own the brushless dewalt and it’s awesome but moving away from dewalt. I also have two festool carvex jigsaws that are going😵💫 So it looks like the bosch is on the cards hence me here. Good honest review 👍
How do you go on with 3 hinges on bent doors please?
Good review with a lot of detail. You mention the inadequacy of the wheels many times. Your are using a very heavy saw, and the Makita manual distinctly says to remove the saw before moving the stand. In that case, the wheels are probably sturdy enough.
Great video
Thanks very much for this mate - I don’t know why it’s so hard for other reviews to tell potential buyers obvious things like how well you can wheel the saw around. Cheers~
