Really great video. Everything is explained so clearly that a first day Blender user could probably follow it, BUT there's also some advanced techniques in here that even experienced users can learn from. Perfect style of tutorial.
Hello 3DTudor, I get the point of triangulating your face to avoid an ngon, but I don't think it was needed for this specific example, since the vertices of that face will always stay locked flat in its local coordinates, there was no need for triangulation. Also, since we are mirroring the object, the "triangulated" face had to be merged in the center and the triangulated face will disappear, which made the triangulation irrelevant and unnecessary.
Hey, nice little video with helpful tips! How about creating a larger project - a gothic chapel/church with some interiors? (on udemy?) Happy New Year!
excellent tutorial except at the beginning when you push "i" to incet face the reason it breaks up is because you have bad topology and you have extra edges that aren't necessary for the mesh and those are the ones that do the breaking. I did this tutorial and I cleaned my pilar before this part and didn't get any breaking :) Also my face when "i" inset it is right down in the middle no need to fiddle around second time :) Also why you use mark seam since it's not needed to ?
Excellent tip! As for the question at the end, I use it simply because it became part of my workflow since I was making game assets and during the texturing process, specific UV usually helps with the flow of a texture ^^
How come when i choose mirror mode, it doesnt put the mirrored part to the side of it, it makes it an extension of the object itself..like morphed together
Hard to say why that's the case, it might be because you are in a wrong mode? (edit mode or object mode) It can also be that your Blender setup is different, you might want to check out your Blender preferences for that. Hope this helps :)

I had to subscribe the moment I got to the "Keeping the Cube Hallelujah", haha. Very nice.
Haha glad you liked it :D
That is actually a great way to make an actual arch, actually.
Hope this technique will help you out :)
I’ve had some time and self taught experience in blender but god dam I just learnt some new techniques, thank you
Glad to hear this helped out! :)
Criminally underrated tutorial.
Thanks so much :)

I've commented on about 4 or 5 videos on youtube in over a decade. Yours is one of them. Great tut.
Thank you! There's no better compliment to an artist than that :D
One of the best tutorial on TH-cam I have ever seen, thank you!
Wow, thanks!
Thanks for this. Makes 100% sense. Any change you could do a tutorial on 6-7 different arches? There are some tricky ones.
Sure thing! I will add it to my Trello board under future tutorial ideas. Thanks, Joseph! :)
You’re so damn underrated your tutorials are amazing and easy to understand, thank you!
Love it mate :) Thank you!!
With the spin tool, you can enter in exactly 90 degrees in the pop-up.
i realize it's kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good site to watch new series online ?
@Jasiah Benedict Try Flixzone. Just google for it =)
Oh my gosh that's such a awesome technique for making an arch. Really easy to understand, thanks!
That's perfect, Liam :D
I am super glad it helped
Wow. I thought the windows were easy. Thanks for introducing details of the bevel tool!
Glad this helped!

This is very helpful, very simple. I loved the way you had those little hints to help where we should be pressing.
I'm glad to hear the hints are helping! They take a lot of work to put in but it's awesome that they're really valuable too :)
Mind blowing, awesome tutorial! I've learned a lot of new tricks.
Great to hear!

Thank you very much
I can't wait to try this. Thank you.
Hope you enjoy :)
Fantastic tutorial thank you so much.
Your Welcome
6:20 if the face you extruded was at Z=0, it would perfectly fit at the top
WoW.... This is amazing... thanks for this. I really needed this for a project I'm currently working on. Cheers!!
Glad it was helpful!

Happy to hear you got something from this tutorial also :)

Hell yes this was great !
Happy to hear you liked the arches Dennis :)
Are there any other arch art styles you would like to learn how to model?
Hi, why dont you use Keyboard screencast addon? it's save a lot of time for editing video :)))) by the way, thank you for your tutorials!
Thank you Luan! I am glad you liked it :)
Keycasting will be in all future TH-cam tutorials now. Promise.
thanks
No problem
👍🏻
Could you tell me what is the name of that music at the beginning of video ( exactly at the first 4 seconds of the video)
?
Sorry, it has been so long since we got it that I don't really remember :/
Seper useful Thanks a lot ! keep doing it
You're welcome!
Merci de France
Thanks
How come when i choose mirror mode, it doesnt put the mirrored part to the side of it, it makes it an extension of the object itself..like morphed together
it'll mirror wherever the objects origin is set, I usually end up moving my origin to a side face to have it work properly
TYSM
Great!
Wow amazing
Thanks a lot, Alex 😊
if only right clicking did anything on my program id be able to follow the rest of this tutorial....

Actually, like actually go in and actually take a shot of vodka actually every time he actually says Actually.
Good game to play xDD When I go back to my older videos I often hear these myself, I try saying it less now days :)
hallelujah.... niiice
Glad the tutorial just hit the spot, Garvie! :D
When I select custom I don't see the dots on the graph after adding the bevel. Anybody know why.
Actually figured it out. You have to select the square dot to the top right corner in the graph after selecting the custom options.
Glad you got it sorted, Eric :)
Please let me know if I can help with anything else
¿Gothic?
Yeah, this can be used in a nice gothic setting :)
first!
Always ! :)
grrr.... haha.. ok.. challenge accepted.
