Changing the Input Coordinates in the PBR Material from UV to Object and setting the Material to Box with 0.5 Blending will create a fast smart Material that acts procedural and does not even need unwrapping. 😊

i think you can get slightly better results by going on object, ridged body > calculate mass and choose concrete when using the cell fracture

You might want to mention apply transformation at some point so the model can be used as an asset after it crumbles, you know if one actually want's to use the model.

For the Windows users: Materialize is a neat little tool you can download for free. Basically, you can take any image and automatically generate all your texture maps (height, normals, etc.) Combined with techniques for tiling images you can make some nice materials quickly with little effort. It's no substance designer, but I think you'd be pleasantly surprised.

interesting way to make ornaments, i never thought of doing it like that...Also my sim for destruction makes the entire thing explode rather than crumble to the floor. i followed all the steps nd tried multiple times still same result.

Made a render of an underground temple with sunlight coming in through holes in the roof... feedback I got was it looked too uniform and clean. So this tutorial was absolutely perfect. Going to go back to that and cell fracture it.

Wow, this tutorial couldn't have come out at a better time. I've only been using blender for a couple weeks making a scene that I'm 3d printing. And what's the main setting of my diorama? Crumbly ruins :P haha. I've been approaching it in a very similar way, but being an ultra noob I learned a lot from your workflow. Enough that's it's worth scrapping the last couple weeks of work and starting over because I'll probably get better results in a few hours.
    Thanks a bunch.

I found this beautiful tutorial a moment ago.
It is very nice to see your work flow . Same with all the other tutorials. They are very well explained.
But I ran into something that i don't understand. maybe it is not possible or i do it wrong 🙂. My point : If you broke the pillar .. I tried to convert it into a mesh ( part of the pillar and the broken pieces ) so that everything stays the same all the time. I joined the pieces convert it into a mesh and then everything when wrong. The position is off and it is rotated in the most non logical way. I tried again after joining them and apply al the transform of pieces. Again it rotated and moved.
When i tried to rotate the model it kept popping back to the position it as after the convert to mesh . I don't get it ( maybe i need more coffee 🤣😂)
What am i doing wrong... or is it not possible at all to change it into a combinet mesh ?
Strange thing is that the mesh does scale and does not pop back to the original
Any ideas that may help ?
Thank you again for posting this 👍 i love it
