Fun fact: Sam Jackson models his character after Russell Simmons the co-founder of Def Jam Recordings and older brother of Rev Run from Run-DMC. Lisp and all, Valentine speaks and dresses just like Russell Simmons. Also, the Kingsman is based on a comic book and in the comics Gazelle is a man. Usually I don’t like when they gender swap characters but I really liked this version of the character. Sofia Boutella is phenomenal.

Manners maketh the man. :) My favorite quote is the one about nobility is not being superior to your fellow man but being superior to your former self. :) All good lesson for the young man. One of my favorites from 2015.
Based on 'The Secret Service' comic book series by Mark Millar & Dave Gibbons.
But most definitely not your average spy story.
Less like James Bond, much more like the 1960s tv series, The Avengers (not Marvel).
It's fun, humorous and sometimes serious.
How close it gets to campy is almost on the border of Austin Powers.
The cast is phenomenal with newer and veteran actors.
This was one of the first films for Taron Edgerton (Eggsy) who did prior theater and television work.
Playing the modern kid who dives into an older world while trying save his own life is a pretty cool journey.
People were bringing their kids to see this movie because it was based on a comic book.
But i guess they weren't expecting the extremely mature nature of the movie and there is a lot of it.
The sequel, The Golden Circle (2017) is not as liked as the first film and the prequel, The King's Man (2021) is incredibly good.
At least 2 more films are on the way (follow ups for each one).
I hope you check out dir. Matthew Vaughn's other work:Layer Cake (2004), Stardust (2007), X-Men:First Class (2011) and Kick-A** (2008) from the same creators of the Secret Service comics.

I didn't know anything about Kingsman the first time I saw it other than it was kind of an actiony-spy movie, but I assumed it was going to be more down to earth. When I saw the explosion that transitioned into the title sequence, I was like "oh no..." thinking it was going to be completely ridiculous. But it turned out to be over-the-top in all of the best ways; just an absolutely entertaining and fun movie from start to finish with some great laughs. I love this movie.

Every once in awhile, you get a truly great film that comes out of left field and shocks you completely and this was one of those films. Trailers looked cool, but that's what previews are supposed to do, and more often than not, the best parts come from those trailers. I saw this after the fact as I'm an old school Bond fan, and while I wasn't super excited to see this at theaters, at home I said why not(decent looking spy film)? One of the best movies I've seen in the last 10 years, and to this day that church scene is one of the best in cinema history. And as I've stated before, Hollywood doesn't know when to quit, and the sequel is the perfect example of that, not the worst movie I've ever seen, but nothing close to the first.

It was the studio's insistence on certain things that made the sequel a lesser product.
So you know, it was a Hollywood studio shitting on the director's vision (regardless of where he's located).
Not very good at understanding what goes into creating films are you? Or at least where the money for a sequel with a significantly increased budget and a cast of tons of popular actors (read expensive) comes from. What urinal, sorry, You're a peeing, oops European drugs are you on?

    "Kingsman"
Originally, Kingsman is a comic series (in graphic novel format) by Mark Millar and David Gibbons. While Millar adapted the plot to the film; there are substantial differences between the two. The only links between works are some general characters and arcs, and the not so serious (but still modernized) take on spy stories.
Millar is famous because several of his original spins to traditional formats have turned into successful movies, for different studios: the Civil War storyline (later losely adapted to the MCU film), Old Man Logan (later turned into the film Logan), Kick-Ass, Wanted...
    "The princess scene"
While the princess scene is a big nod to how spy films related to sexuality (and wasn't well received by many, for obvious reasons XD); the film doubles down on its "ass" take with an extra layer: if you match the password of the door with an old cellphone keyboard you will find that "2625" are the keys that can spell "A-N-A-L". So, yeah, basically the film insists the princess honored her word (if the dialogue or the visuals weren't clear enough).
And that would be it; nice reaction, and consider that if you ever chose the path of evil... nothing can be more deceiving than a lisp XD.

Hey Jen! First....CONGRATULATIONS ON 60K SUBSCRIBERS!!!! You deserve it!
Okay...there is one more Kingsmen film, Kingsmen The Golden Circle, then there is a prequel about the creation of Kingsmen called The Kings Man with Ralph Fiennes. The villain in Kingsmen The Golden Circle is Julianne Moore, and there is a really cool musical legend who does a cameo.
As for Taron Egerton who played Eggsy...he appears in the next Kingsmen, and he did a musical bio of Elton John called Rocketman (he sang all of the Elton John songs as well). He was in the animated Sing films as Johnny the Gorilla (doing his own singing again), Tetris (about the creation of the videogame), a 2018 retelling of Robin Hood, and Eddie The Eagle with Hugh Jackman, He is an awesome performer. Definitely see Rocketman.
The film was based on a comic book by Mark Millar, who also wrote Kick-Ass and Wanted. Both of those comics also became films.
Composer Henry Jackman is pretty awesome...some of his film scores are excellent: Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, Wreck It Ralph, Ralph Breaks The Internet, Big Hero 6, and Captain America:The Winter Soldier & Civil War

Okay, this show is AMAZING even if you don't like Westerns you need to see this show! It starts with one season of 1883 then it goes to the same family in the show 1923, then it has 5 seasons in present day called Yellowstone... I CANNOT believe that MTV did this show! Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Sam Elliot, Harrison Ford, Kevin Costner... I can't believe the lineup of talent! This is the BEST Western saga in DECADES!

There is the sequel film and a prequel film, both are as good as this film, enjoy. Based on the Kingsman comic book series so we'll probably get more films in the future.

Jen FYI if you're paying a lot for cellular I'm also in Canada and Public Mobile offers good plans - $39 for 20GB of data, or $45 for 40GB - the only downside is you need to own the phone outright, they don't sell or have plans with phones. They *are* owned by Telus but that gives them good coverage. Sorry if this sounds like an ad, I've just had good results with them.

So ... we know now how conquer Jen's heart (and mind):
    1. Wear a proper suit
    2. Have a secret lair
    3. Be one of the good guys (optional).
