@@F1rstWorldNomaD Just me, but I would definitely put it up there: tight, rich script that understands the time it's living in and pays tribute to the several escapees and refugees from Europe who are in this movie; layered, flawed characters who invite argument and discussion from us, and all played by gifted actors; humor as well as drama; Dooley Wilson in a rare 1940s depiction of an intelligent and creative man of color; and, of course, the music.

Not Tommy as the lead, but 2 movies that pop to mind are Under Siege 1 (probably Steven Segall's best movie ... and considering he's an epic douche bag, it puts him in a decent action star light) and No Country for Old Men
One where he is the lead, is Volcano. I don't remember too much about it, but I did enjoy it when I first saw it. That was a long time ago though... and I do remember there being a broken sound in the edit that's kept in the movie.

When Men in Black came out our local paper interviewed Lowell Cunningham, who is a friend of mine. They asked him if he was a big success and he said, "I'm just a local geek who made good." 😀I'll see him around town from time to time, in one of his many colorful bowling shirts, just blending in with the local crowds who don't know who he is. He is happy that he's not recognized by anyone who isn't a friend of his. 😀
A Tommy Lee Jones movie that most people haven't heard of is Man of the House. It's not great cinema, but it is a fun popcorn flick.

Yes, you should see Cassablanca. Other Tommy Lee Jones movies: UNDER SIEGE and U.S. MARSHALLS, there are others but I haven't seen them. There are also two other MEN IN BLACK movies with Tommy Lee and Will Smith.

13:43 This vehicle is _such_ a bundle of anachronisms. It looks like a nondescript Ford sedan. It's specially designed, though, so the pressing of a button brings out a couple jets that allow you to drive on the ceiling of a tunnel. Yet it plays eight-tracks. 🤷‍♂

The response that, "I can't give up my family/friends and just disappear" makes a lot of sense, except to me.
I look at it as, "Wait, I get to get rid of all these people, and can disappear, and have a purpose? Where do I sign up?"

Random Tommy Lee Jones trivia: his roommate at Harvard was Al Gore.
Tommy Lee Jones plays the lead in Cobb if you're in the mood for a baseball movie.
I agree with whoever recommended Short Circuit as a sci fi comedy, but I'd also add Short Circuit 2.

An early film with Tommy Lee Jones in a supporting role is the mystery/suspense "The Eyes of Laura Mars" (1978), directed by Irvin Kershner ("SW V: The Empire Strikes Back"), and written by John Carpenter.
Another is "Stormy Monday" (1988) with Sean Bean and Melanie Griffith.

For more Tommy Lee Jones check out The Fugitive with Harrison Ford and its "sequel" US Marshals with Robert Downey Jr and Wesley Snipes. Also check out No Country For Old Men by the Coen Brothers. And of course Men in Black 2 and 3 like others have suggested are a lot of fun. Oh, and check out Space Cowboys with Clind Eastwood!

Hey Jen! I am so enjoying your reactions more and more each time I watch them! "Casablanca" (1942) is DEFINITELY a movie to watch! It's one of the greatest black & white classics of all time. "MiB II" is also worth watching. Not better than the first but still worth a reaction (and good laughs). There are LOADS of sci-fi comedies, quite a few you have already reacted to in the past. Here are my suggestions: 1) "Time Bandits" (1981); 2) "Weird Science "(1985); 3) "Re-Animator" (1985); 4) "Short Circuit" (1986 - plus it's sequel); 5) "They Live" (1988); 6) "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" (1991 - sequel); 7) the "Evil Dead" trilogy; 8) "Mars Attacks!" (1996); 9) "Starship Troopers" (1997) and 10) "Earth Girls Are Easy" (1989 - with Jeff Goldblum). Enjoy!

I would recommend skipping Evil Dead and going straight to Evil Dead 2. The tone of the original is 100% horror, and #2 is essentially a reboot, starting off with a complete remake of the original and growing into a new, more comedic tone.

Fun fact: Danny Elfman had a band back in the 80s called Oingo Boingo and his very first movie music was the title song for the film Weird Science. Since then, he has done the music for tons of movies and is one of the most highly sought-after movie composers today.

Egger suit always makes me smile. It's a nice little nuance to the character. Great reaction, Jen! This is a fun comedy, and I'm really impressed with Vincent D'onofrio as The Bug. His make up made his skin increasingly worse but his acting really sold the Egger suit. And I love Banjo! Adorable 😻
