The squeak did reappear about 1.5 months down the road. Once you do this procedure a time or two, you'll be able to apply the oil to the pivot in about 5 minutes so at least its a quick fix. I suspect a long term fix for this would require removing the transmission and actually applying some proper grease to the pivot point.
My clutch does this, but it also squeaks a little bit inside the car right as it’s almost released, and it kinda gets stuck it doesn’t follow my foot all the way up it kinda gets caught. Do you know what this could be?
I have a 2015 Honda Fit EX and I have this problem. Except it only happens on rainy days and it only squeaks when I'm driving. if I am stationary or idle it will notmake the squeaky sound. but, once I put it on gear and drive it makes that squeaky sound again.
There really isn't a way to verify proper level in the gearbox without removing the fill bolt on the side of the transmission. It is positioned such that you fill the trans to the correct level. To check level, remove the fill bolt and stick your finger in the opening. If you feel oil inside, you have the correct level. The car needs to be level to get a valid reading. Hope this helps!
Anti-seize doesn't penetrate into tight-fitting joints and from what I've seen, tends to deteriorate into a powdery residue over time. It might work, but I would still recommend a light penetrating oil of some sort.
Edwin, an aftermarket clutch kit for the tC is under $200 and brand names like Exedy and Sachs are typically a good choice for a stock replacement. The major cost is in labor. You can probably expect 6 - 8 hours of labor to be charged for a clutch change at $80-$100 an hour (varies by area and shop). You could opt to get all OEM parts and have the dealership do the work, but that will cost noticeably more. When replacing the clutch, be sure to replace the throwout bearing, pilot bearing (if equipped) and have the flywheel resurfaced or deglazed. Also lube the clutch fork pivot point real well while its accessible. I have done clutch replacements on other cars, but not the tC so I'm afraid this is as helpful as I can be. A competent shop should be able to handle the tC clutch replacement as it isn't a complicated car.
I was like sweet I'll spray lithium grease on it, job done! Then I heard you say it's the worst thing to do... Gutted BTW most Toyota's have this setup, my 1991 landcruiser 80 series has the problem and its vertically the same configuration
Frank Jones Spraying oil/lubricants around the clutch area just seems like a recipe for clutch issues in my book. Using an applicator with a thin tip is probably the safest bet. Maybe even a syringe with a thin tube will work for that. A Landcruiser with its longitudal drivertrain layout probably makes access to the clutch fork a little tougher.
So I lubricated exactly where you did and squeak is finally gone. It plays tricks on your ear thinking the pedal is squeaking on the inside when in all actuality it’s coming from under the hood. Thank you so much. I hope others can find this exact video to help them with theirs.
If it is a manual car, your clutch may be worn out. Normally the clutch would slip under power first before failing completely. In an extreme case, it will not engage at all and you will have the symptoms you describe.
WD-40 is inherently not a lubricant. You may have an immediate effect, but it will quickly wear off. You're really better off using a thin oil lubricant that will work for much longer.

cool man
That was cool the way you got the camera in there. Cool vid. Thanks for posting.

is there a way to check the gearbox fluid on a toyota scion from above the engine? if so can you send photos or video?

Did you ever get the problem fixed or just keep lubing it?
Great helpful video.
what u think is the problem if the clutch estay all the way in and it does not cames back
check the master cylinder
Master or slave cylinder
Sounds like slave cylinder. That same thing happened to my miata.
How serious is this problem? Is this something that needs immediate attention? Is this also something that would trigger the check engine light?
It just causes an annoying noise when operating the clutch. There is no way for this issue to cause a check engine light to come on.
What about some dabs of anti-seize lube on the ball of the pivot area?

I have a 2006 scion tc..my clutch just went out like..right now...how much does it cost to fix and witch kit would be the best?

Thank you for the advice, that's a great idea.
My Cruiser has a nice lift kit on it, so it's pretty easy to get to, otherwise it would be a pain.
Does this fix the squeak inside of the car from the clutch pedal it self?
No, the squeak from the pedal would have to be addressed by lubricating the mechanism under the dash. I personally haven't had to do this on my car.

which oil did you used
I use an oil called Tri-Flow Superior Lubricant.
My Scion tC when I put it in any gear it won’t move or stall what can it be ?

How about seafoam?
Update????
it really worked. thanks
Ashutosh Joshi Glad I could help!
More volume to the radio..
Can you use WD-40???
