Oh Jo you deserve to not feel anxious looking at your wardrobe. We look at them at least once a day. Consider letting go of some of those items. I used to think I’d keep stuff until I fit into it again. When I did the styles had changed and I didn’t wear them anyway. Let someone else get some joy from them now. Someone shopping at a second hand store will be so thrilled to find your donated items. If they are off season clothes you’re trying to store maybe consider those vacuum seal bags.

I have a load of clothes and other items that have been waiting to go to charity since the pandemic, it's hard to get rid of them as my local charity shops are overwhelmed with donations at the moment. And I have a fair amount that I don't wear anymore but that I'm keeping for wearing round the house but I never really do! I think my wardrobe will be on the list of winter jobs to do 😳 x

You're so right about the hangers! I changed all mine to the velour and wood ones. I think if those are a budget stretch....even using plastic ones in all same neutral color such as grey or black would elevate a closet.

I love color coordinating my closet and I also put like items together i.e all tanks, T-shirt, blouses, then long sleeves etc. and from light to dark. And I have a extra room so I have one closet for spring/summer and other for fall/winter. My hallway closet has all my cardigans and jackets from light to dark. I am continually editing both closets. I started color coordinating our closet about 24 years ago. On wooden hangers facing all the same way. Our closet was sectioned out too. So much so I could tell you what my husband was wearing to work even if I didn’t see him that morning because I knew what was hanging where. I had a huge closet in that house. Just recently we downsized into a new home and my closet is still the same. It is still sectioned out. I’m so lucky as I got to design my custom closet with my builder. It’s so worth it to have it this way. I do keep a tote downstairs with seasonal clothes. Just pulled out winter clothes today. I feel so fortunate and love that you show this. Thanks Valentina. I lived in CA for years so never had a winter wardrobe. Then I moved back to WA and was so thankful for my obsession with zippered garment bags so I could easily rotate summer & winter clothes without having to clutter up the closet during transitions. I am the opposite of organized, but I do color coordinate my closet! I got the idea from a friend of mine several years ago. I start with white on the left, and then to ivory, light beige, darker beige, light blue, medium blue, etc., with black all the way to the right.

I’m torn on my boxed preserved wedding dress that takes up a corner of closet. Will my unknown future daughter-in-law really want to wear…..very unlikely. I really don’t want to store another 30 years :) What did you do with yours? Getting organized does in my opinion lower stress by making things easier, providing a sense of control; but I do wish people would at least try to buy from a variety of vendors, and the little guy once in a while instead of always supporting mega corp. entities functioning more as cartels than businesses. Unless you're a billionaire, it's sort of like paying it forward; if you know what I mean. Likely more effort. less convenient and may be a little more expensive, but let's please try supporting small business owners when possible. Thanks. Great job Valentina. I've often thought there should be Geranimals for Grown-ups! I work in the city and every now and then I'll see a guy who's trying to be professional-looking but is clearly, most likely, color-blind. Brown, navy, dark green, and black all in the same outfit. I feel so badly and think - Geranimals for Grown-ups would really help.
My weakness is earrings. I have 135 pairs in 4 of those clear plastic boxes with dividers. Sorted by color (of course). Then there’s the necklaces… In my defense, I made a lot of them myself. Now you guys can all feel nice and minimalist. 😂
I wish there was less Amazon mentions. It's disappointing because your suggestions and design advice feel less authentic and more like sponsored content.
I do it because people ask for it. When I share design advice without sharing what I use people get aggregated because they can’t act on it. I also treat these videos like I’m hanging out with friends, always sharing a deal when I find it.
The shaver works great on flannel sheets.! I use my electric toothbrush (with an old head) on stains. It’s like magic!

Best thing I ever did was to organize my closet by color. Makes finding an outfit so much easier.
