"And now it's time for the Doug Score, this random super car is literally the fastest in the world and a rocket can get to those speeds in an instant faster, so it gets a 3 out 10."
While I agree that Doug gets really facetious or gives really dumb pointless euivocations to the vehicle he rates speed isn't as big a deal as you'd think to car enthusiasts. Many have their tastes and petrolheads absolutely adore speed but raw visceral acceleration is only half the dance as the rest of the car. It's the same reason why many aren't very big fans of the Veyron. It's a fast and visceral but elegant machine and a bit of a marvel of brutal technology at it's core, but it handles about how it looks it does and it has very little else notable about it aside from it's luxury speed and capability - it legit has a wider turning radius than a *Hummer*. I myself would rather have a Miata and as a fan of engineering a like a good amount of mechanical construction and proficiency to them. Simple but well constructed cars are definitely good ones, like the Ferrari F40. I also adore cars that can handle and spritely light ones too. Speed gets you a lot of points, but it doesn't get you points when you can't round a corner as well as a large SUV. It's the driving experience that matters.
I love cars with this much attention to detail with regards to their target audience. This is not a car for everyone, this is for a specific person and the designers have catered to that person.
i saw this thing on the street the other day and just thought "oh please god, no" because I thought this was what the actual production bronco ended up as.

The 3 cylinder turbocharge does have enough power but it does make a funny sound at lower speeds. And while we are on the subject- plastics aren't bad. It's just the type and the way we use them that makes the difference. Even Carbon Fiber is plastic, it's manufactured differently than others. And there are different types with different properties, Rather than calling them plastics - I prefer them as Marvels of Polymer Engineering. For products like cars which is expected to have upwards of 20 years of life, plastics should actually be encouraged. Infact I would prefer a purpose built polymers over leather and metals on car interiors.

So I actually had a 22 Badlands and a full-size bronco. And yes the full size bronco is amazing. Off-road and the manual transmission was so fun, but the top is super noisy. The weather stripping was done terribly. They were in such a rush to build my bronco. The undercoating dried still dripping and I've seen that on multiple broncos. I actually sold my full-size bronco and am driving a bronco sport heritage limited now which is basically a special edition Badlands and besides ground clearance i have yet to find a place that I can get it stuck and they're so comfy and you still get good gas mileage and the insurance is decent and I've had that 2 l and other cars and it's a great engine and it just makes accelerating effortless you barely even have to hit the gas to get on the highway and all of a sudden you're doing 80 mph
@@robertdevoy3119 Yes those are the heritages. Those are based off of big band. I believe the heritage limited is based off the Badlands. It's basically a fully loaded Badlands with a special paint job and Wheels they only made 1965 of them
The 1.5 only comes in the base. Big bend and outer Banks and the heritage is based off the Big bend now. The heritage limited is based off of the Badlands which is the 2 L not the 1.5 and it has a bunch of extra off-road stuff like a lift, optional all-terrain tires, skid plate for the front. You can actually lock the center PTU which is kind of like a differential but it does it with clutches not gears and it also has a special rear unit with two clutches instead of one so it can kind of act like a locker. More like a limited slip. It won't log fully up. It'll actually allow a little bit of slip to save itself and the heritage limited is basically like a fully loaded bad Lance with a special paint job and wheels and then the heritage is like a big band with a special paint job in Wheels.
Exactly what I thought. The other day I was looking at the old Ford escape (surprised it was still on the road) and thought that it looked exactly like the bronco sport.

I don't understand why some companies make the steering wheel, The part of the car you touch most, out of a low quality material.
I can't understand how after 100 years automakers _still_ can't make a good synthetic steering wheel.
It's actually not that bad. It's durable polyurethane sort of materials that's grippy and that will outlast even the leather
Grip is of far more importance than feeling.

That's interesting because the 2024 Heritage has the 1.5L 3 cylinder engine.
