I have a 2021 Bronco Sport Badlands four cylinder. We have 20,000 miles on it and 4,000 on dirt and snow. The car has been absolutely great. I tend to drive a little fast. The issues mention I have not had. We have taken it on three desert trips climbing up through the mountains on tight very rough dirt trails and it performed very well. It is so smooth and quite on the pavement. In reverse going down steep inclines it’s smooth and quite. The back seat of my model folds down completely flat, I’m 6’2” and have slept comfortably in the back on a blow up mattress. Great Vehicle
Unfortunately my reverse sound is back and it’s annnoyyyoiinnnnggggg even in the heat of summer it still does it do I don’t buy the it’s cold reason I hear.
@@DaleDoesItAll I have a 2021 base that does the same thing. I have a 2023 big bend also, but that one does not make the noise. I just learned to stop backing up unless it is a must...lol
I bought a late built 2022 Big Bend. 3k miles already and so far love it. Never dreamed I’d own a 3 cylinder. My own complaint so far is a random rattling noise in the dash in certain temps. I think it’ll be an easy fix. Excellent MPG and I like the looks, it better looking than anything in its class. Perfect vehicle for what I needed.
I have a rattle sound on start up on my 2024 outerbanks happens mainly when. Starting it in the morning or after work. My dealership claims it’s the brand new belts wearing in. Anyone know the actual issue??
Great Review of your Bronco. We just recently purchased a 2023 Bronco Sport Big Bend and have now put 5000 miles on it. So far we really enjoy it. We downsized as well from a Ford Expedition to the Bronco Sport as our kids are now older and we could justify not having the extra room. Our biggest reason for going with the Bronco Sport was we needed to a vehicle that got better fuel economy than the Expedition and we wanted 4x4 capabilities if needed. So far its been great, Thanks for your review I will be doing one on our Bronco soon.
My 2022 Big Bend doesn't have that little button he pushed. Mine is more typical, press the button at the base of the slide post. Wish I had the one he demonstrated.
Here is one better, you can actually take the headrests out, turn them around and put them in backwards to provide better support for bedding if you car camp. There's another video on camping in a badlands where this is revealed.
I kept my 2021 for six months. Three months in, my battery had to be replaced. Six months in, I had water leaks in the passenger footwell, second row floor and rear area. It was determined by the dealerships service dep. that mine was not welded together right straight from the factory. I traded my Bronco Sport in for a Challenger. Good Luck with yours! Cheers!
YIKES!!!! I don’t blame you at all my friend! Enjoy your new truck! I considered a ram myself for a while. Unfortunately I drive too far for work, and it didn’t make sense for me.
@@wizeguizlook up the problems that stem from cylinder de-activation just saying if you plan to own it for long term 👍 had it ruin two motors under 100k on them.
Love my 2022 Sport Big Bend. The GOAT system rules in heavy rain on the highway. Power seating is not on the traditional x,y,z axes. Push the button for back and it lowers as it moves back. Push the button for forward and it lifts as it moves forward. Tilt feels normal. I understand the logic but it's not a good system. You can find your sweet spot if you're willing to make a very minor sacrifice. I'm 6'1", the back seat is tight. Great for kids and little adults. The 3 banger is ok. It gets the job done but it won't win if someone doesn't want you in that space you just chose to enter the highway. The radio, HVAC controls are great. As opposed to current display control trends, you can adjust these without taking your eyes off the road. The shifter dial was easier than I thought to get used to. I'm used to a tradition in-line P at the front and L at the rear of the selector. No issues. You quickly realize that first click to clockwise is reverse and spin that thing to clockwise and you're in drive. Spin it counterclockwise and that puppy is in park. Pretty good idea when you think about it. I'm about 7 months in and most of my miles are highway. The vehicle is extremely confident at those speeds. As mentioned, GOAT rules in heavy rain. I can feel the vehicle adjust but I'm not sliding like my FWD SUV did. No regrets.
Good video. I have a 21 badlands Sport and love it. Couple points to add. Cool feature of the tailgate lights is they shut off automatically when you shut the hatch. I only just recently found this out. The cargo floor levels are to accommodate the different spares- yours has the compact spare which allows for the lower floor height. With full size spare you need the higher platform level. Goat modes are available on all models with the badlands getting extra modes and the ability to lock up the ‘rear diff’ clutch and shut off traction and select trail control. Thanks for the info on the brake squeal. I’ve had that same experience which is why I back in to park when the car is going to sit overnight lol
My 2021 BS Big Bend did the same loud backup brake squeal. Ford replaced the bushings, and it still did it. They replaced all the calipers and it still did it. Very frustrating. Then it started making a growling noise when I would make a hard right turn. It was scheduled for a service for that problem. One day I went into the dealership to move that appointment up because the growl was getting increasingly more noticeable. They couldn't move the appointment up, so I went into the showroom sat down with a salesman, and traded the Big Bend in for a 2023 BS Badlands. They gave me $2000 over what I owed on the note for the Big Bend and an additional $2000 off in incentives. The Badland's selling price was $40,000 but with the incentives and trade-in value of the Big Bend, I paid $36,000 for the Badlands. So far, no backup brake elk calls..lol.. And with the better four wheel drive system combined with the larger 2.0 4 cyl engine I couldn't be happier. They really are nice little crossovers. Like with any other vehicle, the first runs are always going to present some issues until they get the kinks worked out.
My wife and I recently bought a 23 base full size Bronco…v6 hard top azure grey with dealer installed big tire package…my wife loves it and so do I! She loves it so much , she asked me about storing it through the bad winter months in Michigan! I thought that’s a great idea but it’s her daily driver and I have my truck! We’ve been tossing around the idea of getting a bronco sport but aren’t quite sure if the size would be good for us! I’ve been watching reviews like crazy to try and help decide if we run across a good deal on one!
This was a great video. I just bought a 2021 black on black base model that was a lease return. I love the look of it, it's sleek. It is definitely an underrated vehicle, I normally drive an F250 Lariat crew cab diesel with an 8 foot bed. Being able to pull in and park anywhere is a cool experience!
Great review! As for my 2022 Outerbanks, the only issues after 11k miles are the fuel injector leak recall and some squeaking dash noises lol. Other than that, I'm enjoying the every day use of it. Still haven't taken it on any trails, but hopefully, this summer will change that. The B&O stereo cranks and it's a much smoother ride than I would have expected for a smaller SUV.
I watched your video in its entirety, without skipping around, so I hope that helps you, lol. Oh and you're excused. First time I've heard someone in a video like this say excuse me after a brief pause in the dialog, lol, but I thought it added to your authenticity and honesty. I'm waiting on my Heritage model, but I am curious if you can adjust the cargo floor to match the seat back height when the back seats are folded down. Really digging the idea of car-camping in this vehicle.
Lol thanks for watch Randall! And for the comment. I appreciate getting feedback. It helps me to understand if I’m going in the right direction. That’s a good thought about the seat height and the cargo bed! I’m going to check it out and see sometime soon!
Good vid.I have been looking at the Bronco as I would like to downsize from my Explorer but need the room for my grandkids in the back for child seats.
We also downsized from the explorer! We only miss the explorer on big/long trips or times when everyone used to pile in our vehicle. However those times are few and far between!
Great job showing the booster seat...we have 2 and a dog..rear hatch area looks perfect to transport a medium sized wet dog...this looks like it will suit our family needs to a tee...
I will say we have to compromise on long trips. It gets pretty full back there. Now that my family is growing and kids getting older, I think it may be time for a third row.
Just got a 2023 Big Bend for my wife (her pick). We also have 2 kids. It's nice but I can't get comfortable in the passenger seat. It's like I'm sitting on a ball or something. Also I don't have enough leg room in width and the foot well is small. I'm 6 1 225lbs. I'm sure the seat will break in and get softer over time.
I have to agree with your points. The passenger side does feel restricting even at 5’10” 180. As far as the seat being uncomfortable, I don’t thing I mind it! Thanks for commenting!
@@DaleDoesItAll Sounds like they might be refreshed for the 2024 model year. If they get a little bigger then maybe we will look into trading for a new one.
I have a Bronco. I think it bucks. One of the main features why I got it was cause my last car was a ford escape 2012. The Bronco is just a upgraded version of what I had. Also it has the rear window that opens that is super handy. I have the reverse brake noise. I didn’t know they had a solution.
So glad I found this video! We have the ‘21 Big Bend and it makes the “Dory trying to speak whale” sound. Dealership said it’s just rust from the humidity in the area. They checked the break pads saying they looked good. I will definitely mention the bushings next time I take it in for service!
On my Bronco Sport the rear passenger seat has a storage box under it. There is a lever/button under the seat cushion in the front of the seat. Sorry if you showed this, I didn't notice it in your video. I have the Badlands edition.
Definitely! It’s odd the types of vehicles they will and won’t bring to each continent/country. I know a lot of people would love to get their hand on a Toyota helux in the states!
Have the 21 Bronco Sport. 50k miles still runs great. But can you believe it, I have the same reverse loud sound. The sound is extremely loud "embarrassing" taken it to the dealership 3 times they can't fix the issue. Given up on reverse.
My wife has a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport; it has been a NIGHTMARE!!! Not only are her brakes making a noise along with shimmying, but Ford's response has been, "Oh, that's just normal." No, it is NOT. Recently her vehicle died at a stop light; no rhyme or reason as to why. Meanwhile, there are NO rental cars available nor has there been any contact from Ford about why this might be happening or when she might hear something/anything from them.
We have the 2021 Badlands version. The all wheel drive on the Big Bend is better than two wheel drive, but it's nowhere nearly as capable as the twin clutch rear drive on the Badlands, which is basically very close to true locking differential 4wd. Better off-road Falkan Wildpeak tires, also. Plus, the much more powerful engine in the Badlands makes the Sport very fast, more like one of the European small SUV's. But you do get better gas mileage in the 3 cylinder.
Thanks! I wish I could say there were cheaper options that had the same look but I couldn’t find any! The rack really sets of the sport, and it stands out next to another sport. Thanks for watching and commenting!
All current owners make sure you call your local Ford dealer and get the fuel injection problem fixed. There is a TSB out for a fix and a lawsuit filed for the problem that has created 50+ fires with the turbo 1.5L engine. 💯🤯
There’s no fix for it. All they do is install tubes so in case there is a leak the fuel has a place to drain. Also pcm gets updated to cut power from engine.
@@michaelburton yeah this is my first Ford and it’s definitely not without its issues. I drive a lot and already hit 30k miles in just over a year. Coming from a Toyota Corolla that got me over 300k trouble free miles. Not sure what the future holds but I’m considering trading in my big bend for a Subaru forester. But we’ll see I really like my bronco I just wish it was more reliable.
We have a 2021 Badlands sport. Have the same brake issues when in reverse on an incline. Ford has looked at it and told us nothing is wrong. It’s like the rear brakes are gripping too hard. It’s really annoying. Just tell them I need the bushings changed? Did they charge you?
Hi! TSB Number 22-2326 is the correct one I believe! No, I was charged nothing because I was still under warranty. As long as you are under warranty I’d take it in, and reference this service bulletin!
Now, I don't know about yours because I had the badlands with the extra modes and rear diff lock and on medium to high level off-roading. I did find that there actually was a difference in the goat modes, but I think that was mostly because it could lock the rear diff on mine. But I went through an obstacle once in normal mode and once in the rockcrawl mode which is an extra mode the badlands have and there was slippage in normal mode and there was no slippage in the rock crawl mode
Yes in agree! I recently had some more opportunities to try different modes in different environments and I will say it did effect the ability to more easily traverse obstacles or paths. However, I didn’t do anything extreme. More or so just rutty paths, and mud. Thanks for watching!
Had a 2021 bronco sport, brakes made a loud grinding sound every time In reverse.ford said not a mechanical failure issue no fix yet, very annoying.blue tooth issues,I couldn't answer incoming calls, would have to hang up and call the person back.the infotainment system was just bad In general, slow ,glitchy.the build quality in the vehicle was poor overall, traded it in at 36,000 miles.
Sorry to hear You had such problems with yours. I will say it’s unfortunate to deal with so many. I can be somewhat understanding due to a first run vehicle and having so many supply chain issues with the pandemic. I hope you enjoy your new vehicle! What did you replace the sport with, if you don’t mind me asking?
Wow ! I never knew about the break problem. It has been going on for me since 3k miles. I’m at 27k as a daily.. I called about it and they said there is no problem.
I just bought a leftover 22 BIG BEND … I’m hoping it’s going to do well on the beach …. 2 questions …. 1 anyone get an underlayment Spray to prevent salt water rust? 2 any recommendations for rack for paddleboard …. 1000 bucks for that beauty is a little too steep ! Thanks for the info !
I’m not sure! I wanted something low profile and limited wind noise! This was the best option for me while maximizing rack space. If I come across anything, I’ll drop it in the comments!
My biggest complaint about the Bronco Sport is that awful C pillar. There is no reason for it to be that large/wide. It's black on the outside so it blends right in to the windows.... so I know it wasn't for esthetics. So they're really just blocking inside visibility for fun? Silly Ford.
Can a person 5'10" in height , open the driver's door , face their butt towards the seat and just lean back onto the seat ; or is it so high that that person has to step up into and then onto seat ?
Hi! I’m 5’ 10” and yes I do not have to get “up” into the seat at all.I could easily sit down into the seat as you stated. However I would Definitely try for yourself! Thanks for watching and I hope I could help!

Hi! Thanks for commenting! These does sound similar to the issue we had. For us it ended up being a heat shield/protective cover on the fuel tank rubbing on the tire/ flapping in the wind only at certain angles of initial take off. Hope this helps!!
I really like the rack. I wish it was silent, however there is wind noise at the 54mph speed. Higher and lower the noise isn’t present, however it is consistent at that speed. Starting at the 52-53 becoming gradually louder, and 55-56 becoming quieter again. My wife didn’t generally notice as much as I. I had a roof rack on a former vehicle so I was expecting it. I read that it was completely silent, but unfortunately not the case lol. It’s purely because my wife goes the exact speed limit that I’d even notice :P
That's strange, I didn't realize the Bronco Sport came in a right-hand drive version. That's okay, I guess they need Bronco Sports in Europe, too. But wearing a hat with mirror-image script is going a little too far.

a thousand dollars for a roof rack?! lol you got hosed. I see it looks like its your wife's car. And it was built on the same platform as the Escape. not a Maverick

Im so sorry this happened to you! I hope you all have better luck going forward and on deciding what to do next!
But you do get better gas mileage in the 3 cylinder.
wow nice car and video. Rack is VERY PRICY... is there an alternative for 1/2 the price? thinking about getting this car and love the look with rack!
Thanks! I wish I could say there were cheaper options that had the same look but I couldn’t find any! The rack really sets of the sport, and it stands out next to another sport. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@DaleDoesItAll thx. Any video on step by step installation? Never had a rack in my life!!!
All current owners make sure you call your local Ford dealer and get the fuel injection problem fixed. There is a TSB out for a fix and a lawsuit filed for the problem that has created 50+ fires with the turbo 1.5L engine. 💯🤯
Good info! Thanks for that!
What's the bulletin code/number? Own a base sport too.
There’s no fix for it. All they do is install tubes so in case there is a leak the fuel has a place to drain. Also pcm gets updated to cut power from engine.
@@IamChucky_ wow that's ridiculous. Ford is off my list forever 💯😂😂 🤦🏻♂️. Since 2020 they've been a wreck
With the Badlands, the back seats fold flat. There isn't that hump that you showed.
Oh wow! That’s cool!
I have the 2022 Badlands and had the same exact issue with the back brakes, it was embarrassing coming from a new car.
@@charlenerogers9813 agreed
It reminds me a bit of the old Honda Element. Great review, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Hello Dale. How is your Ford Bronco now? Hope you can comment more info. Thank you
Hi, haven’t had any issues. The reverse squeal came back and has now gone away again I think for good? Overall though, no issues!
What overall gas mileage are you getting and what engine do you have inside it?
Had a 2021 bronco sport, brakes made a loud grinding sound every time In reverse.ford said not a mechanical failure issue no fix yet, very annoying.blue tooth issues,I couldn't answer incoming calls, would have to hang up and call the person back.the infotainment system was just bad In general, slow ,glitchy.the build quality in the vehicle was poor overall, traded it in at 36,000 miles.
Sorry to hear
You had such problems with yours. I will say it’s unfortunate to deal with so many. I can be somewhat understanding due to a first run vehicle and having so many supply chain issues with the pandemic. I hope you enjoy your new vehicle! What did you replace the sport with, if you don’t mind me asking?
What did you get to replace it?
Were you ever able to fix the Bluetooth issue? I'm having the same issue and nothing works to fix it!
We have the squeal, too. Thx for the tip.
It comes and goes- wish it would just….go lol
Does the Big Bend not come with the trunk shelf that turns into a table?
Wow ! I never knew about the break problem. It has been going on for me since 3k miles. I’m at 27k as a daily.. I called about it and they said there is no problem.
Our has returned :(
My 1.5l shakes when going up hill. Just bought it. Don’t know if the engine is that weak or the lot simply didn’t do a tune up before resale.
I can’t say we have that issue! Hope you get it figured out!
@@DaleDoesItAll it probably just needs a tune up. I’m in the Atlanta. Everyone’s shady out here, but I love the truck!
I heard from another TH-camr that said the Broncos are known for having fuel injector problems. Have you heard this or experience this.
Hi there! There was a fuel injector recall that was released but we had no issues with ours!
Just got one and plenty of room for a car seat.
Can anyone confirm the issues have been fixed with the 2023 model year?
Hopefully someone can answer this for you!
Hey man Hello from Puerto Rico !! What Rack is that one im looking for somthing like that where can i order it thanks have a good one!! ✌️
Hi! Link to the rack is in the description of the video!!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Silly Ford.
Agreed. After a good couple years I think the fam is ready to upgrade to a larger internal area.
Hi I am Lionel I have a Ford bronco 2021 sport recently to drive forward slowly turning the stearing 1 rotation left or right u will feel like if the Tyre pegs are touching the fender or chassis I had it view by 3 macanics also the Ford moto rep in Guyana they did diagnostics checks ran through the selection on transmission the vehacle chow oil is a good % please advise thanks
Hi! Thanks for commenting! These does sound similar to the issue we had. For us it ended up being a heat shield/protective cover on the fuel tank rubbing on the tire/ flapping in the wind only at certain angles of initial take off. Hope this helps!!
Hey 👊🏽 😁 👍🏽🇺🇸🇲🇽🇨🇦, is your bronco a 3 cylinder or 4 cylinder?
Turbo 3!
@@DaleDoesItAll thank you
How is that rack set up with wind noise?
I never even noticed that! Gotta love that DJI software. Tried using a handheld gimbal, not sure I’m a fan yet! Thanks for watching!
My 2021 already needs an new ac compressor and the water pump needs to be replaced wtf Ford, it's my own fault for buying a Ford 😢
Man! That is horrible! I’m sorry you had such horrible luck with it!
Is this at Paris Mountain SP?
No it’s not! Haha but I’m guessing it’s beautiful.
God yes I hate it I need to check into that I hadn’t heard about them willing to fix it it mine does it all day I have a 2021 ford bronco sport big bend
The squeal came back 😭
Why this over a CRV?
I don’t know if I’m the best one to make that argument!
First and second generation Broncos are much better than the new low boy
Hard to beat the way things used to be made! Thanks for watching!
You look just like bo nikal . Anyways, just bought my 2023. Just have to register it.
Hah! Well thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy it!
I disagree on the carseat comodity.
Forward facing is decent. Rear facing though is difficult for most vehicles to maintain space in the front seat. Thanks for watching!
a thousand dollars for a roof rack?! lol you got hosed. I see it looks like its your wife's car. And it was built on the same platform as the Escape. not a Maverick
Hi! How much were roof racks in your day? Yes you are correct that my wife’s car is the sport. And YES you are also right that the Bronco sport uses the Unibody C2 platform which is the same for both the Escape and Maverick! Thanks for watching!
1k for a rack? Ridiculous!
@@rickc6028 I definitely wouldn’t say it’s affordable! I definitely paid for a specific style and look. I’m pleased with it! Hope you find one closer to your price range!
Lemons
lol there’s a lot of lemons out there!
do u still have this bronco sport..if not hiw did u like it for however long u had it
Hi, yes we still have it! I think it’s a good vehicle. Sometimes feels a little small when going on trips with two kids. Only issue is the brakes still squeak which is pretty annoying, but apparently that was fixed post Covid.
@@DaleDoesItAll quick response thank you. ya,our youngest kid just hit 18 so we're good there. she's buying 1 tommorow. a 2021 alto blue with 18,000 miles and almost half or a third of warranty left. she's not a serios offroader but here in ohio get decent snow fall and wants a good dependable daily driver. thank you for the feedback. any tips or cool features let me know. when she gets I might ask u another question or 5 😂
