  • With the Milwaukee 2727 M18 FUEL Chainsaw, you can choose a 16" or 14" bar and chain. The M18 FUEL brushless motor churns the sprocket at 6,600 RPM which delivers a chain speed of 2,440 FPM. Even after 31 cuts through 8-1/2" wet oak, we still had 3 bars left on the Milwaukee 12.0Ah battery. You can get the 2727 Chainsaw for $329 for the bare tool, or get the kit with the M18 Chainsaw, 12.0Ah battery, and Rapid Charger for $449.

    I've had this saw for a while. The scrench is ridiculously difficult to remove. You almost need to carry a screwdriver to pry it out of the holder. My solution was to drill a small hole in the scrench and attach a short loop of small paracord. It doesn't get in the way and makes it very easy to just grab the loop and remove the scrench.

      You are exactly right! It's a pain to get out, but we couldn't exactly bring it upon ourselves to really count that it in the review. It definitely doesn't come loose, and that's a great idea with the paracord. Thanks for watching.

    Great video! I have not used this saw a ton yet, but I agree 100%, do not try to use non-high output batteries. Even the 6 amp hour high output will work fine, you'll just get less run time. I did try to use the standard 5 amp hour battery but overheated rather quickly. I suppose if you are limbing up 4-in material and you swap out batteries to keep them cool they may work okay.

    Why can't anyone ever make a video displaying a live tree being cut down rather than a log on a stand. Make the test realistic for the average person looking for a saw.

      I bought the saw, I don’t like this saw, it’s been in the repair longer than it’s been in use. what happens is for some reason when you pull the trigger it just doesn’t work so they replace the electronics assembly twice now. And nothing wrong with the batteries.

      I think most people don't own a tree that they have a good reason to fell, so they would be yelled at for cutting down healthy trees for no good reason.

    I gave you the thumb up just for your reco on not taking the batter down to fail. I take'm down to one bar and then if I am in the shop I keep an eye on the charge and take them off as soon as see the 4th bar. This will greatly extend your batteries life 20% to 80% for long life.

    I've had this since shortly after it was released, and it's definitely been put to use. Works great. I love it. Although the 12ah battery was a lemon, and the replacement Milwaukee sent me ended up being a lemon as well. That's one battery of theirs I cannot recommend.

    • @ToolsInAction4u
      @ToolsInAction4u ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve heard that when the 12ah sit too long at low battery (usually on the shelves or at warehouse) cells start dying. Same with all size and brand batteries but the 12 ah makes this more likely since there are more cells. Also heard it helps to leave the batteries charging for 24 hrs on the first charge of the battery because they have a “memory”. Also can happen after running the battery completely dead and then leaving it out in the cold for hours.
      I learned about this years ago and I have had way more success and longevity out of my batteries. My oldest one being a 11 yr old 6ah RYOBI battery. Which is unheard of for Ryobi

    This video is now 1 year old, How is the saw holding up ? I’ve heard both good and bad things about them.
    I’ve been cutting trees up for extra money lately, trying to supplement our income. My wife is currently disabled so it’s just me working, and so I am doing everything I can to keep our heads above water right.
    My old gas chainsaws are getting pretty finicky lately and I am now considering this M18 cordless saw, the kit is running $500 and as I said, right now that’s A LOT of money for us to be plunking down on something that isn’t going to hold up. I’m real curious to see what you folks have to say about it.
    Milwaukee does make some pretty decent tools lately, and so I am really curious. Thanks for your advice 👍

    I would love to see this versus the Makita XGT. So far, I’ve avoided the latter tool line due to the high cost of the 40v batteries. It’s also annoying that they give you the 4.0 ah 40v “free” with the chainsaw and reciprocating saw. I wouldn’t want anything less than the 5.0 ah. Sucks when they try to give away the low end items on the platform which won’t operate the tool to its full capacity.

      @13thZeus I bought some fuel tools, and that was a question I also had. I wish they would also share all the little bonus features that I discover by accident or see only after other people have shared. Like the way the bit holders snap into snug, perfectly shaped locations in some of the tool boxes. There are several clever but never mentioned design aspects on their products. Another example is how the packout lids are predrilled for attaching the battery chargers. I also used to hate having to fight the bit and drill cases to get a bit. It seemed to be a terrible design flaw until I learned how they actually work. Now I believe they are actually superior to most designs, despite the secrecy. Haha

    Excuse me, sir! Not cool! what's with the plunge cutting!? That's a great way to get a viewer killed or catastrophically injured. Your viewers include a lot of regular folk who are NOT aware of the hazards of operating a chainsaw. Plunge cuts are for the professional trade -not for casual viewers. So, here's the caveat for the casual user: never cut with the tip of the bar. Going forward, I expect this channel will demonstrate greater discretrion in the demonstration footage.
