I guess I got lucky. I bought one 2 years ago. Cut a ton of trees, including 1,000’s of alders, mostly 2”-3” across. Plus at least a 15 massive evergreens. I don’t run it more than 20 minutes continuously. Which is not a problem cuz I spend that time moving branches and logs around during that break. I stop when battery gets hot. Keep the oil full. Chain always sharpened. Sure as he// is better than dealing with my toxic gas powered Stihl. I highly recommend this saw. (Well,…if it’s anything like mine.)
My used one is still holding up. They are nice saws when they are running. I’m just bummed they are not more user friendly for switching out parts inside the saw. Would like to get my hands on the new dual battery 20” they have out. Comparable to a 70cc saw. Hope your saw stays strong 💪 cheers 🍻
Toxic Stihl? I've ran the crap out of my dad's stihl the last 15 years, only complaint is it takes 3 pulls to start but it always starts. My 16" Milwaukee always throws the chain, doesn't matter how tight it is or the brand of chain. I'm going to try a Oregon bar Wondering if I got a defective one.
@@christophermix6845 By toxic I simply mean gas powered. Great saw. Just burns my lungs. I worked with brutally toxic chemicals in my 20's. Ever sense then my lungs burn if I get to within 20 feet of anything toxic,....like gasoline, turpentine, lacquer thinner, paint, strong hair spray, most candles, mold. Covid was the worst. We were told Covid got here in March (forgot the year). Nope. It arrived in the previous November. At least here, in WI. I felt the sensation of scorching hot razorblades in my heart, 5 months before we were told it got here. I would experience it again 5 more times in the depths of the pandemic. Fortunately I found someone who had a device that could destroy Covid. In other words,....It's an indictment of gasoline. Not Stihl.
If your saw is not working or intermittently I believe it's the micro switch for the brake clutch. I deleted the brake clutch and switch and permanently connected the wires and works great. Safety switch for trigger got deleted too because why not. Is it dangerous maybe, but I have never needed to use a brake clutch on any saw I ever had. When im not using it I just take the battery out. Hope this helps.
I bought the M18 Fuel 16" saw made two cuts, set it down and it did not run again. Took it back to the dealer, they sent it in for repair. Repair place said it would cost me $185 or less to fix it. Told them to just send it back. I got it back in parts. I am working on it myself and am finding the the kick back brake micro switch is not making contact to allow saw to run. still looking at what i can do to fix the issue. I am not pleased with Milwaukee and the way they handled this issue. Thanks for sharing.
What a pain. Thanks for sharing that. Good luck with it. When they are running the are handy little saws. Just a shame it’s not very repairable by the average handyman.
Same thing happened to me. I just took out the brake clutch altogether and permanently clamped the switch with a cable tie works great. If it fails again I'm going to bypass the switch and connect spthe small wires together.
Good video! I have a bunch of Milwaukee tools as well and I just got this saw new for $185 plus tax. All you need to do is get a shipping label from Milwaukee and drop it off at a FedEx location.
@@cliffordmontana4562 IS the actual name of the place "factory authorized outlet." or did you mean A factory authorized outlet. if so what was the actual name of the place if you would be so kind as to answer that
@ Factory authorized outlet is the company. They are an authorized Milwaukee dealer. They have their own website, but they are also on EBay. Their ebay deals are ridiculous! Every month or so they have 20% off sales, even on their “refurbished” tools and chainsaws. I got the new Milwaukee telescoping pole saw for $480 when it was brand new, $120 cheaper than anywhere else. You get the real Milwaukee warranties, unlike if you bought your Milwaukee tools off of Amazon or any other non-authorized dealer. Black Friday is coming. Their deals will be unbelievable.
No tools these days are made to last,no matter what brand. I have a Dewalt recip saw in a metal case from 1990 and still going strong. I’ve destroyed many modern tool in every brand.
A long time ago I bought an all plastic Milwaukee half inch 'Hole Shooter'. Eventually the gears stripped in it. Milwaukee refused to do anything about it. I have bought thousands of dollars worth of electronic tools since. None of them from Milwaukee. I just continue to spread the word about their formerly 'legendary' quality.
Why not send it in? 5year warranty. 3year is for battery. Free label, drop off or they'll even pick up in some places. Even out of warranty 5 years down the road Milwaukee would probably send a refurbished back to you.
Great question. The reason for me there’s another video on TH-cam that the guy sent it in five times they never fix the problem. I personally wanna pull the trigger and look at someone in the eyes and tell them this thing still doesn’t work send it back or replace it. I got another one. I like them I just think they are throwaways like everything these days. I just didn’t want some poor sap to feel alone like he’s going crazy if he can’t get the results he’s looking for. Cheers 🍻
I am trying to constructive criticism. ME: o ya sure because you have so much to do like, watch TV and walk around the house being board, and scroll through your phone. Why spend a few hours to save $200 after all you do make $150 a hour lol. Mind you I am dealing with people that make $20 per hour. Maybe you personally make more than $100 per hour. Maybe I am totally wrong. But I feel like you are just being stubborn like I used to be. Once I found out that you can no longer bring craftsman into the store and you have to go on line? I threw a temper tantrum like a baby. Then after 6 months of being stubborn, I went online and they not only sent me new tools without having to send my broken ones in, they also warrantied a torque wrench that was 8 YEARS past the 1 year warranty. You wast more time being stubborn.

I successfully replaced the control assembly. It was super easy. Plug and play.
Wow send me pictures to my email. Mine was all glued or soldered together. Daveadubson@gmail.com
This sounds like an opportunity. Give great service, charge a reasonable price and make a business.
I’ve had a few Milwaukee tools repaired for free locally.
I wish are local one did repairs. They only sell them. Unfortunately I have to drive 1-1/2 one way to the closest one in my neck of the woods.

Also thank you for the video, my dad wants one of those saws, I will show him this video.
Now you're scaring me I was thinking of getting one. To the point I sold my 20 year old Shtil saw that needed a new bar and chain.😦
You got deep pockets you will be fine lol

“I appreciate your honesty …”
Y I sttick to gas powered saws . MORE RELIABLE
You are doing exactly what they expected. People stop buying battery powered equipment.
This model doesn’t seem like it’s really for pro use. If I needed one for my business, I’d stick with, “tried and true “.
Same can be said about electric cars . My 2 cents
Stick with gas chainsaws.
